Chapter 119: Stealing Things from the Study
Xia Cheng accompanied Lin Minghe for a nap and then left.
She went straight back to Xiya and told Xun Sheng the result. He was silent for a while before speaking.
"Last time, after I took Mom to the hospital, Dad came home right away. I don't know what they said behind closed doors, but their relationship seemed to have eased a bit. If you tell anyone about this now, they'll definitely get divorced. Don't tell anyone until you know the truth."
"I understand that. By the way, after you found the box, did you see anything else inside?"
"Yes, but before I could read it, someone came. I thought the contents of the will must be very valuable, so I never opened it again."
"I want to get that box over here." Xia Cheng said bluntly, "I need your help."
Xun Sheng agreed without hesitation.
"I have one condition."
"What conditions?"
"After you take out the things, you must completely reject Yu Jingyuan and Lin Minghe."
"Why...why?" She felt guilty.
"If you don't like them, you should reject them, right?" Xun Sheng narrowed his eyes and smiled slightly. "Or do you like them?"
Xia Cheng shook her head like a rattle.
"No, no, no! How could that be!? Of course I like my brother the most!"

To prepare for her return home, Xia Cheng called Xun Youdong in advance, and the second call went through. The voice on the other end seemed to have aged instantly, making Xia Cheng feel a little uncomfortable facing this biological father.
"Dad, I shouldn't have argued with you last time. When you're home, I'll come back to see you and Mom. I heard Mom's been having headaches lately, and I'm worried." She probably knew why Xun Youdong hadn't let her go home. He might have been worried that He Qing would think of the child when he saw her. But Xia Cheng didn't think it was her fault.
Fortunately, Xun Youdong agreed.
As Xia Cheng stood at the gate of the Xun family's house again, carrying her bags, she suddenly recalled her first return home. He Qing's tears, piercing through time, pounded heavily on her heart. Not only for herself, but also for this grieving mother, she had to get to the bottom of this matter!
Xia Cheng arrived an hour early. When she entered, Xun Youdong and He Qing had already been sent out by Xun Sheng.
The servants only come to work on fixed and needed dates, and leave after preparing three meals a day, so they are not here either.
Xia Cheng glanced suspiciously at the garden, feeling as if someone was missing. She put down the fruit she had bought and felt a bit like a guest.
Now is the best time to act.
She ran up the stairs and was almost on the second floor when she suddenly heard a noise coming from a room on the right. It was Xun Mo's room. Xia Cheng immediately slowed down her pace. She didn't understand why she would stay at home on a weekday. Shouldn't she be at school?
However, Xia Cheng didn't have time to think about it, because the door handle of Xun Mo's room had been pressed. She absolutely couldn't let Xun Mo see her, so she immediately took off her shoes and ran to the door of the study. But the door of the study was locked!
Xun Mo's door opened, and Xia Cheng didn't know where to hide for a moment. She bit her lip hard and ran to another room in panic.
But as soon as she entered the door, she was stunned.
This was He Qing and Xun Youdong's bedroom. Xia Cheng had been there once before, and it was warm and tidy. But now, it was plastered with pictures of children. The curtains were even open, and the walls were covered in pictures of babies with toothless, smiling faces, a terrifying sight.
"Who's outside?" Xun Mo shouted.
When Xia Cheng heard the sound, she immediately put her ear to the door in the room.
"Miss, there's no one." A deep male voice replied.
"Really? Then come in, Xiao Lai. Don't waste time. Mom and Dad will be back soon."
Xia Cheng's body trembled.
Xiao Lai? Why is Xiao Lai in Xun Mo's room? What are they doing?
Because there was a study between the two rooms, Xia Cheng couldn't hear what was happening.
She saw the curtains blown by the wind, and with an idea, she ran to the balcony.
The balconies of the three rooms were very close to each other, and although there was still a risk of falling, Xia Cheng could jump over with just a light leap. However, if she jumped over, there would definitely be noise.
"There's no other way." Xia Cheng had no choice.
She jumped as lightly as possible, but still landed heavily on the balcony.
The movement in Xun Mo's room stopped, and after a while, the balcony was pushed open.
"What's that sound?" Xun Mo, wrapped in her robe, poked her head out, her cheeks flushed. She looked a little coquettish.
"I'll go and take a look. Miss, please don't move here." Xiao Lai also wrapped his lower body with a blanket. He stared at the balcony for a while, his eyes moving from the garden to the balcony next door.
"Have you looked carefully?" Xun Mo urged, a little impatient.
Only then did Xiao Lai look away.
"Watch carefully."
He walked in and locked the balcony door behind him.
"Is anyone here?" Xun Mo asked.
Xiao Lai shook his head. "Nothing. I must have heard it wrong."
Under normal circumstances, he would have gone to see her again, but now, all he could think about was Xun Mo. He immediately pressed her against the wall, kissing and biting her. Xun Mo couldn't bear it anymore, so she hugged his head, whimpering, and her body swaying.
Xia Cheng, who was hiding under the wall, was completely stunned.
Li Laiyang and Xun Mo? When did this happen? Didn't Xun Mo always like Yu Jingyuan?!
Seeing the blushing sounds coming from inside, Xia Cheng half-crouched and sneaked into the study from the balcony.
She still has serious things to do. If Xun Mo is just having a normal relationship, it has nothing to do with her.
Xia Cheng walked quickly to the desk and found the button underneath. The round metal button sank, and the desk lamp slowly moved upward, leaving its dark brown base. The lamp had originally been a mirror. Following her previous experience, Xia Cheng rotated the base, tilting it to a fifty-degree angle. A beam of light cast a shadow on the bookshelf.
Xia Cheng had to use two chairs to get the ancient red book with a thick spine.
Just as she got the things, she heard Xun Sheng say loudly in the living room: "Xun Mo, come down quickly, I bought your favorite dessert."
This is Xun Sheng’s reminder.
Xia Cheng was startled. She hurriedly put her things back in place, put her books back into her bag, and immediately opened the balcony door. She was a little confused about where to run. But then she saw a figure rushing out from the balcony next door. The figure was obviously stunned when he saw her, but he still jumped from the second floor without hesitation.
Xia Cheng's heart hardened, and she didn't dare to jump. If she jumped, would the wound on her leg be damaged?
However, the people in the living room had already started looking for her. Xia Cheng could only grit her teeth, climb out to the balcony, squat down with her arms around the stone pillar, first stretched out one leg, trying to slide down with the friction of the wall. Her thigh shook and she actually stepped on something. Xia Cheng used the force to put down the other leg. Just as she was about to continue climbing, she lowered her head and met Yu Jingyuan's eyes.
He was holding her calf gently with a smile on his face.
Xia Cheng was stepping on his shoulder.
"Don't be afraid." Yu Jingyuan slowly squatted down and guided her to move down. "You can also let go, I will catch you."
