Chapter 44: Brainstorming

Chapter 44: Brainstorming

When she arrived at her room, Xia Cheng immediately locked the door. With a click, she threw her handbag on the floor, and the cosmetics and bread inside rolled out.

Xia Cheng knelt on the ground, opened the bread bag and rummaged through it.

Only when she held the black recorder did she feel a little better. She pressed the plastic button, put the recorder to her ear, and held her breath.

The noise was very noisy. At first, it was always the sound of the plastic bag of bread being turned over, then the conversation between her and Han Wenya in the car, and then at the dinner table, Xia Cheng went out, and Han Wenya talked to the three men.

Xia Cheng's eyes lit up. She imported the data from the recorder into a USB drive, the phone's internal storage, and the cloud drive. After confirming that the data would not disappear easily, she put the recorder back into her bag. She didn't think anyone would go through her bag. After all, with what happened tonight, no one should come looking for her.

However, Xun Sheng actually came to see her and placed a medical kit at the door. When Xia Cheng heard the knock and opened the door, Xun Sheng had already entered, and the gap in the door was just closed when she went out.

Xia Cheng is still wondering whether to go to the hospital for vaccination, as people might be carrying some virus.

She thought about it, bent down to pick up the medical box, carried it into the room, looked up at Xun Sheng's door, and found that the door was ajar and not completely closed.

She was not going to be hard on herself. After carefully disinfecting the wound on her arm with iodine, she took a pair of scissors and started trimming the ends of her hair.

She had cut her own hair before in the countryside, so she had some experience. After trimming, looking at the hair that reached her shoulders, Xia Cheng felt a little regretful.

She originally wanted to stuff her hair into Xun Mo's mouth. Since she liked pulling it so much, she might as well give it to her. Unfortunately, she was interrupted by Yu Jingyuan.

Xia Cheng turned on her phone and saw Yu Jingyuan had sent her a message saying that he was waiting for her in the car. Xia Cheng didn't dare to get out of the car, so she told him what happened tonight.

"I can't go down. Dad won't let me stay with you."

Yu Jingyuan replied quickly.

"Because of Xun Mo?"

"Well, maybe you think I'm not worthy. After all, someone as outstanding as you should be with Xun Mo."

Yu Jingyuan didn't reply for a long time and was still typing. Not long after, Xia Cheng heard a few horn sounds.

"Come to the balcony." Yu Jingyuan sent a message.

Xia Cheng ran to the balcony, leaned on the railing, and looked in the direction of the headlights. Yu Jingyuan was standing next to the car, waving at her, almost jumping up.

Another message popped up on the phone. Xia Cheng looked down and saw that it was still from Yu Jingyuan.

"No matter what, I will be responsible for you."

Xia Cheng sent back an emoticon, a random one, showing a crying face. She was not happy to see this sentence, it was not enough, still not enough. What she was waiting for was Yu Jingyuan to say:

"I've fallen in love with you. I can't live without you."

After the two finished chatting, Yu Jingyuan drove away. Xia Cheng lay on the balcony. She wanted to relax, but her mind couldn't clear for a long time.

When she was angry, she felt that this family were all sophisticated egoists, but she was no exception. They used other people's sincerity for their own purposes. They were indeed a family.

What Xia Cheng cares about from the bottom of her heart is not only the love of her parents, those men, but also the property of the Xun family. It seems that if Xun Youdong passes away one day, the brother and sister will benefit the most.

Thinking of this, Xia Cheng felt a sour taste in her teeth as if she had eaten a plum. Why was this happening?

Those two children, whose fathers were unknown, had occupied her home for so many years. She couldn't let what belonged to her become theirs again, whether it was her parents or her property.

The wound on her arm seemed to hurt even more. She took a few deep breaths, trying to calm herself down. She looked at the flowers blooming silently under the small lights in the yard. There was a person standing there quietly, and she didn't know how long he had been looking at her.

It turned out to be Xiao Lai.

Xia Cheng frowned slightly, but Xiao Lai smiled at her, as if to comfort her.

Xia Cheng felt a little strange, and her eyes looked strange and eerie. She hugged her arms and stroked the goose bumps on her skin with her palms.

Why did he just stand there without saying anything? How much of her interaction with Yu Jingyuan did he see?

The next day, Xia Cheng got up early and made an appointment at a 24-hour barber shop. She left home when her aunt just got up to clean the house. When she left, she opened her door to let everyone know that she had left and was not angry.

But after she had her hair cut, He Qing still sent her a message.

"Are you still angry?"

Xia Cheng posted a photo of herself. Her hair had been trimmed into a sharp short style, just reaching her shoulders, with the ends slightly curled outwards.

"Mom, I'm going to get my hair cut, so I'm leaving now. Don't be angry. I'll talk to you when I come back in the evening."

He Qing gave Xia Cheng a hug and conveyed what she said to Xun Youdong. He then said "hmm" in a heavy voice and began to talk about what happened last night, criticizing Xun Mo for being too harsh.

Xun Mo covered her cheek, which still hurt, and complained in dissatisfaction.

"Dad! You scolded me again! I was beaten too!"

"Then tell me clearly, how did you two start fighting? Who told you that Chengcheng and Jingyuan were together?"

Xun Mo turned on her phone and held it out. A photo appeared on the screen. Although Zhao Yunqian had withdrawn it last night, she saved it quickly.

"Zhao Yunqian sent me this photo, and I was about to go to Brother Jingyuan's house to find him. Who knew that just as I left the house, I ran into Brother Jingyuan who was sending her back. Xia Cheng got out of the car and said that Brother Jingyuan liked her and kept circling around her. I couldn't help but get angry..."

Xun Youdong held the bowl, unable to drink any more, so he put down his chopsticks and placed them heavily on the edge of the bowl.

"They used a gun on you, and you got so angry you hit your own sister. As for Chengcheng, you should have figured out why she said that instead of just acting on impulse! You need to work on your personality!"

"Of course I know Zhao Yunqian said that on purpose! I'm not that stupid, but I just can't help it! Dad! I like Yu Jingyuan and can't stand provocation!"

Xun Youdong raised his face and glared at him. Xun Mo noticed that her father was angry, so she shut her mouth obediently, shrank into the chair, and looked at He Qing for help.

He Qing began to ease the atmosphere and change the subject.

Xun Sheng silently took the phone that Xun Mo had placed on the table. Before turning off the screen, he stared at the photo. The wallpaper around it was very distinctive. It was a hotel he had been to. It was most likely a drinking party that Han Wenya took Xia Cheng to, and they were rescued by Yu Jingyuan.

He returned the phone to Xun Mo, stood up, and handed over the untouched milk on the table.

Xun Mo looked over in confusion, and Xun Sheng rubbed her head with a sneer.

"Drink more, it will replenish your brain."

His tone was normal and serious, as if it was just a brother's concern for his sister. Xun Mo couldn't tell good from bad for a moment. She picked up the glass bottle, looked at it left and right, and drank it down with a gulp.
