Chapter 19: Is it too late to be reborn?
Old Master Tai glanced at the little granddaughter in his arms.
Zhuzhu's eyes were still on the two bags of rice. She stretched her neck and tried to look around, fearing that her brothers would steal some of the rice.
The old man was amused. He patted his granddaughter and then said, "During the three or four days since we left, have any outsiders come to the village? Or has anyone gone out?"
Master Tai suddenly understood, finally remembering his old brother's entrustment, and replied, "Don't worry, don't worry! Not even a bird has flown into the village, let alone outsiders. Every family is waiting for you to come back and divide the meat, and no one has left."
Old Master Tai frowned. This answer disappointed him, but also made him slightly relieved.
Uncle Tai was confused and asked, "Sixth Brother, why are you so concerned about this? Is there something wrong outside?"
Old Master Tai quickly shook his head and said with a smile, "Don't worry, Third Brother. I'm just afraid that someone will come and seduce Jiye to gamble."
Uncle Tai was about to speak when a villager came up to him and asked, "Uncle San, my wife is going to give birth in half a month. Can you give me some of these wild boar's trotters? It will be just in time for my wife to produce milk."
"Of course!" Mr. Tai San and Mr. Tai Lao responded in unison.
A new member coming into the clan is a great joyous occasion, and everyone would like to help out, let alone just doing something for the sake of convenience.
The two men immediately went to divide the meat. In the end, they not only gave the pig's trotter to the man who loved his wife, but also gave him two extra pig bones, which they could use to make soup at home to satisfy the whole family's cravings.
In the Tai family's kitchen, the big pot of bone soup had already started to bubble with oil.
Zhuzhu twitched her little nose and twisted and turned in her grandfather's arms. After finally getting down from the ground, she stretched out her chubby little legs and ran straight to the kitchen.
Liu Dongniang was busy chopping dried vegetables. When she looked up, she saw her little baby falling in, looking dazed.
Zhuzhu stared with her big eyes, raised her little hands, and her face was full of grievance.
Why add a threshold to a good door?
Ouch, my knees hurt!
My hands hurt too!
Liu Dongniang was heartbroken. She rushed to the door in a few steps, picked up the little girl, and coaxed her, "Oh, Zhuzhu wants to drink bone soup, right? Don't worry, Second Aunt has made a big pot! I'll give you a big bowl later, okay?"
The little boy immediately became happy and nodded his head hard.
Yang Lihua was very skillful and she sewed two long rabbit ears on the hat she made for her daughter.
At this moment, the rabbit's ears were swinging back and forth, set against its white and tender little face and big, sparkling eyes, it looked like a little rabbit that had become a spirit.
Liu Dongniang failed to express her love for her, so she kissed her niece gently, and her heart felt so soft that it seemed like it was about to melt.
At this time, Tai Yonglu and Tai Yongyue ran in frantically, shouting together.
"Mom, I want some broth!"
"Second Aunt, it smells so good, I want some soup!"
The two brats were talking, pulling their sleeves and wiping their saliva.
Liu Dongniang was extremely disgusted. She slapped each of them and sent them off to chop firewood.
As for her niece, Milk Ball, she was wrapped in a basket behind her back, and from time to time she would pick out a bone and some meat and feed it directly to her.
Zhuzhu was grinning from ear to ear while eating, kicking her little feet happily from time to time, and her little mouth was greasy but sweeter than honey.
“So fragrant and delicious!”
"Second Aunt is so powerful, I can handle you!"
Liu Dongniang was coaxed into happiness and fed the animals more actively.
Tai Yonglu and Tai Yongyue were chopping wood in the corner of the house. Their eyes were red with greed and they were drooling!
Wow, other families prefer boys to girls, but why do they prefer girls to boys?
Is it too late for them to become little girls now?
After struggling in the mountains for several days, the hunting team was very tired.
So, after the meat was distributed, every household rushed back home.
For a moment, all that was left in Tai's yard were messy footprints and blood.
Tai Jizu and Tai Jizong called the boys for help and quickly washed the yard with snow to prevent wild animals from smelling the smell and running over to cause trouble.
After finishing the work, everyone was starving, and the bone soup stew that was cooked to perfection was served.
A basket of sorghum flour steamed bread was definitely the protagonist in the past, but today it has been relegated to the second place.
Zhuzhu was held in the old man's arms, searching around on the table like a little mouse stealing oil, and finally protested with a pout.
"Mimi, Zhuzhu wants to eat Mimi!"
rice?
The old man was so frightened that he dropped his chopsticks, and Tai Yonglu and Tai Yongyue jumped up and ran out the door.
Just now, everyone was so busy joining in the fun that they actually forgot about the two bags of rice hidden outside the yard!
Most of the Tai family members didn't know what was going on. When they saw Tai Jizu and Tai Jizon each carrying a bag of white rice into the house, they all opened their mouths in ecstasy.
"This...where did this come from?" Yang Lihua was the first to ask.
Zhuzhu was already clapping her chubby hands and shouting happily, "Mimi, eat Mimi!"
The old man originally wanted to explain a few more words, but his granddaughter's baby voice was like thunder, instantly lighting up his mind, and the little things he had ignored before were quickly connected together.
Life at home was getting better and better, and he originally thought that God had finally opened his eyes and brought good luck to the family.
But when I think about it carefully, it seems that life at home has only become better since my granddaughter woke up and was no longer stupid.
The granddaughter needed to nourish her body, so the grandsons caught fish in the frozen river and found bird eggs in the mountains.
The granddaughter felt sorry for her daughter-in-law because she was cold, so she turned over the carriage on the side of the road and found a pile of quilts and cushions.
The granddaughter wanted to eat meat, and the roe deer immediately ran into her and died in front of the door!
