Chapter 288 A False Alarm

Liu Dongniang's life is not easy either. Recently, her family has been making a wooden cart and hiring a carpenter. They live in a row house, but their family is responsible for their food.

The old man was a man of great appearances, and would rather starve himself than treat his guests poorly. Therefore, she had to be extra careful about the food.

Taking advantage of the fact that the children were not at home today and no one was making trouble, Liu Dongniang chopped up some minced meat and beans, and prepared to make some vegetable dumplings. She steamed two dumplings, enough for the carpenter and her family to eat.

It was a busy time when Tai Yonglu and Liu Quaner came back.

Tai Yonglu rushed into the kitchen when he saw steam coming out of it. He just happened to see some dumplings coming out of the pot, so he reached out and grabbed one and took a big bite.

Liu Dongniang subconsciously slapped him and scolded him with a smile, "You're a starving ghost, always so impatient! If your mother sees you, she'll punish you again. Go wash your hands!"

After that, she suddenly realized and asked, "That's not right, didn't you go up the mountain? Where's your grandfather, where's Zhuzhu?"

Tai Yonglu gasped for air from the heat and replied vaguely, "Grandpa asked me to come back to get medicine..."

vulnerary?!

Liu Dongniang's face changed immediately, and she rushed out of the door and ran to the backyard.

"Sister-in-law, sister-in-law! Come quickly, come quickly!"

Yang Lihua was startled, threw the account book away and walked out.

"What's wrong, Winter Mother?"

When the other women heard the noise, they all leaned over to the window to look out, wondering what had happened.

Liu Dongniang reacted quickly and pinched her finger, pretending to be in pain, and said, "Sister-in-law, I cut my hand! Find me some medicine!"

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and smiled in understanding.

Everyone is out working now, and the housework is taken over by the mother-in-law or sisters-in-law. Otherwise, they would just be around the stove on weekdays, and cutting their hands is a common occurrence, not surprising.

But Yang Lihua knew her sister-in-law too well and guessed she was trying to cover up something, so she quickly said to everyone, "You guys keep busy, I'll go to the front yard."

After saying that, she pulled Liu Dongniang out of the corner gate.

Tai Yonglu finished a vegetable dumpling, and when he saw his mother and aunt running over with unhappy faces, he realized that he had gotten into trouble, so he hurried back to make amends.

"Mom, Second Aunt! Don't be afraid, it's okay, our family is fine!"

Yang Lihua and Liu Dongniang were both relieved, but also very angry!

Liu Dongniang slapped Yonglu on the back of the head and cursed, "You little bastard, you're scaring me to death! Why are you so cunning? If you have something to say, why don't you just say it clearly?"

Tai Yonglu scratched the back of his head in grievance, and he didn't dare to argue.

He indeed didn't explain it clearly just now, but his aunt spoke too quickly and he didn't have time to add to it!

Liu Quan was trying to suppress his laughter and quickly stepped forward to explain, "Madam, Madam, when the old man was taking Zhuzhu to visit the grave, he encountered an injured young man who had lost a lot of blood.

"The old man asked us to come back to get some clean cotton cloth, a set of Yongan's clothes, and most importantly, the medicine that Doctor Wang left behind."

"Oh, and there's some leftover medicine from my second brother's leg injury!" Tai Yonglu added, glancing at the large dumplings in the kitchen and saying with a chuckle, "Grandpa and my sister haven't eaten yet, so it would be great if you could bring me some more dumplings."

Liu Dongniang was at a loss whether to laugh or cry when she heard this. No one in her family was hurt, so she felt relieved and quickly went to pack dumplings.

Yang Lihua also hurried into the house to look for something, packed it in a package and stuffed it into the backpack.

But she was worried no matter how she thought about it, fearing that Liu Quan and her son were not telling the truth. What if Zhuzhu or the old man was injured?

So she simply said something to her sister-in-law and followed them up the mountain.

In the small wooden house halfway up the mountain, Hengqi and others had already skillfully cleaned the blood and dirt from the young man's wounds. They were so busy that they were sweating profusely because there were too many wounds.

But the young man's skin was shaking with pain, but he never woke up.

The two couldn't help but gossip quietly, "This guy doesn't look very old, how did he get injured like this? Did he run into an enemy?"

"No, judging by the nice clothes they are wearing, they must be from a wealthy family. Maybe they ran into bandits."

"Nonsense! There are no bandits around here. If there really were, I'd be happy. Brother Heng, take us brothers to wipe them out. Maybe we'll get rich. We won't have to worry about buying betrothal gifts or getting married!"

"Haha, you're actually thinking about getting married. You really want to settle down here!"

"Of course, it's great here. The villagers are honest and have a good life. If I can marry a wife and have a few sons, we'll have someone to carry on the family line!"

Old Master Tai was listening to their conversation outside and asked loudly, "How is it? Is the wound easy to treat?"

"Don't worry, old man!" Hengqi replied, "They're just flesh wounds, not difficult to treat. It seems a couple of ribs are cracked, but no internal organs are damaged. Just take good care of it for half a month and it will heal."

Grandpa Tai was relieved. At this time, Zhimaqiu had already run towards the road.

Soon, Yang Lihua climbed up with Liu Quan and Tai Yonglu, leaning on a stick.

Zhuzhu ran over immediately, "Mom, Mom!"

Tai Yongyue and Chen Ruiyang also threw away the firewood in their hands, and the big black horse and the big white horse even gave up the tender grass and ran over with a clatter.

Yang Lihua bent down and hugged her fat daughter, and the heavy stone in her heart was half relieved. Looking at Tai Yongyue and Chen Ruiyang, the other half was also relieved.

She reached out and patted the big black horse and the big white horse, signaling Tai Yonglu to bring the backpack over.

"Here are some freshly steamed vegetable dumplings. Eat a few first to fill your stomach. I'll make some porridge and take care of Grandpa and the uncles while we have lunch together."

"I know, mom (aunt)!" The boys all responded, and smiled as they opened the baskets to look for big dishes and dumplings. The sesame balls were so delicious that they almost shook their tails off.
