The room suddenly became silent.
The next moment, the old man had stuffed Zhuzhu into his daughter-in-law's arms and pushed them into the west room.
Tai Jizu and Tai Jizong also grabbed the three boys and pushed them to Liu Dongniang.
"Hide, don't come out!"
In the yard, Sesame Ball began to roar with all his might, revealing his white teeth, and looked around for where the enemy might be hiding.
The big black horse and the big white horse pawed their hooves, ran to the steps and sneezed vigilantly!
But after waiting for a long time, no arrows fell. Instead, He Shan and others heard the noise and rushed over.
"Master, what happened?"
Old Man Tai stepped out of the door, reached out to pull out the arrow, and found a note tied to the tail of the arrow.
He had some vague suspicions in his mind, so he waved his hand and said, "It's okay for now. Look around to see if there are any suspicious people."
He Shan and others took the order and left. The old man opened the note and his expression changed after just one glance.
Tai Jizong was anxious and asked quickly, "Dad, what did the higher-ups say? What's going on?"
Old Master Tai gestured for everyone to go back to the house and closed the door again.
Sesame Ball, the Big Black Horse and the Big White Horse were still guarding the door, and with Chunhong and Erya running out from the kitchen, not even a fly could get in, let alone outsiders.
Hearing that everything was alright, Yang Lihua came out holding Zhuzhu. Liu Dongniang, however, was still frightened and kept the three boys behind her. However, the three boys were curious and tried to look towards the old man.
The old man handed the note to Yang Lihua and said, "Kang Cheng sent someone to deliver a letter. I guess the situation is urgent, so he chose this method."
Yang Lihua read the note, frowned, and replied, "Dad, it says that a nobleman from Kyoto has set his sights on our cashmere business, and soon someone will come to seize it! What should we do?"
The others were all surprised when they heard this and became anxious.
Tai Jizu asked, "Those nobles from Kyoto came here for business, didn't they? Why are they still jealous of our cashmere business?"
"Yeah, what does it mean to rob and seize? Is it the method of weaving cashmere clothes that you spend money to buy?" Tai Jizong also chimed in.
Liu Dongniang asked timidly, "What should we do? Can we not sell it?"
However, a few boys were angry and unwilling, and started shouting.
"Grandpa, the cashmere workshop belongs to us, we won't sell it!"
"Didn't they say the Emperor is here too? If anyone dares to steal our things, we'll file a complaint with the Emperor!"
"Yes, the storytellers in the city all said that all we have to do is stop the emperor's carriage and kowtow!"
The old man was naturally angry, but he was really at a loss whether to laugh or cry after hearing what the boy did.
"Alright, stop giving me such stupid advice! If life were as easy as storytellers say, there would be no injustice in the world! The reality is, you're just a commoner, and you'd probably be killed before you even see the emperor's carriage!"
The boys were dumbfounded. Finally, Yang Lihua spoke up, "Dad, what should we do now? If the prince's retainers come to visit, our family won't be able to stop them. I'm afraid they'll just give us a few taels of silver as a pretense and then take away the cashmere weaving method!"
"No!" Tai Jizu immediately objected. "The third brother is still leading the caravan to collect cashmere on the grassland. How sad he will be when he comes back and finds out the workshop is gone! No, I have to guard the workshop for the third brother!"
Tai Jizong was also walking around anxiously, "Yes, Dad, we can't let outsiders take away the workshop!"
The old man was also anxious. He took out his pipe and took two deep puffs. He turned around and saw his little granddaughter blinking her big eyes at him, so he put down the pipe again.
"Zhuzhu, come here, grandpa will hug you. Were you scared just now?"
The old man held the fat girl in his arms and gently touched her little head.
Zhuzhu leaned closer to her grandfather's arms and nodded gently, "Grandpa, are there bad guys bullying our family?"
The old man sighed and replied, "There's a bad guy who's got his eyes on the good things in our house. If we don't give them to him, our family will be in danger."
Is it dangerous?
Zhuzhu's little puffy cheeks were all tense, and she tugged at her grandfather's sleeve with her little hands, yelling, "Grandpa, can you give the things to the bad guys? Zhuzhu is lucky, and our family will have good things in the future!"
Of course the old man knew it, but the workshop was the hard work of the whole family, and the youngest son was running around for the workshop!
Zhuzhu was afraid that Grandpa would not agree, so she continued to persuade him in a baby voice, "Grandpa, bad people will be punished! Zhuzhu doesn't want Grandpa to be in danger, Zhuzhu is afraid!"
"Okay, okay, Zhuzhu, don't be afraid!" The old man patted his fat granddaughter gently and had made the decision when he looked up.
"Rather than waiting for someone to come and forcibly buy the workshop, why not take action first? I'll go into town to find Manager Min and ask him to help gather everyone who wants to do cashmere clothing business. Let's sell the clothing and pants weaving method! It's better to ask for less money and sell to more companies.
"Once the method of weaving clothes is no longer exclusive to our family, those nobles will stop targeting us, and perhaps we can even save the workshop!"
Yang Lihua thought quickly in her mind and finally nodded.
"Dad is right. We still have orders for five or six hundred sets left. When the third child brings back the cashmere, it should be enough to complete the order. We can still think about the future by then! From the time we set up the workshop until now, we have made a lot of money for the family. Even if we stop doing it in the future, we won't lose anything."
Tai Jizu and Tai Jizon looked at each other. They had no better idea, so they could only nod.
The old man immediately started making arrangements. "Hitch the carriage, tell He Shan to bring me a few people, and hurry into the city. I may not be back tonight, so you guys stay home. If your third uncle asks, tell him to wait until I get back."
Soon, the old man changed into a set of clothes that were almost new and took four old soldiers into the city by car.
Yang Lihua was afraid that those people would come to the house early and scare the child, so she begged the old man to take Zhuzhu to the city. Whether she was sent to the Wu family or the Min family, she could stay there for two days to avoid being affected by her family.
The old man was thankful that his daughter-in-law was so thoughtful. He held Zhuzhu and her little package and set off.
The Min family's dim sum shop is still bustling with people, and business is very good.
Manager Min was checking the account books in the backyard. He was a little surprised when he heard that the old man was coming.
As soon as he welcomed the grandfather and grandson into the house, he quickly called the waiter to bring Zhuzhu some freshly baked snacks.
Zhuzhu ate with relish, and then the old man talked to Manager Min about selling the knitting method of cashmere clothes.
Manager Min was so surprised that he almost knocked over the teapot. He asked, "Old man, what made you think of this all of a sudden? Our cashmere clothing business is booming right now. Wouldn't selling the weaving method be like killing the goose that lays the golden eggs?"
The old man sighed and replied, "The knitting method of these cashmere clothes and pants is not very complicated. Sooner or later, someone will figure it out. Why not sell it while it's still a novelty and make some money?"
Manager Min saw that the old man didn't want to say more, so he thought about it and stopped trying to persuade him.
"Uncle, you still have to tell me what your rules are, so that I can send my boy out to look for him."
