Chapter 34 Chapter 34 Do you want to come again...
Seeing him like this, Nie Xiangyi's heart trembled. She could only clasp her hands together, her eyes gleaming with pleading as she looked at him pitifully, "Brother Heng... I still want to go horseback riding tomorrow..."
"Oh? Horseback riding?" Xie Zhiwei raised an eyebrow. "Then I'll teach you."
Nie Xiangyi didn't realize what he meant by "teach" at first. It wasn't until he put his arm around her waist and sat on top of her, her hot breath against her ear, that she almost whimpered.
"Ah Si, don't you want to ride a horse? Go ahead."
His usually cold voice was tinged with hoarse desire, making her unable to control her emotions.
There was always a pitiful look in her eyes, "Your Highness... Brother Heng... I have no strength left."
The drooping hair fell on Xie Zhi's chest, as soft as a feather, making people feel itchy.
Xie Zhi chuckled and held her waist with his cool palm. "Then let me help you?"
Before Nie Xiangyi could think about how he was going to help, her vision suddenly blurred and her sobbing was instantly shattered.
Another sleepless night.
Xie Zhi was a cold and reserved man, and she had never thought he would indulge in love affairs. But in the past few days, he had lost control several times, as if he was furious, and tossed her so hard that she couldn't get out of bed.
She hadn't been able to ride the horse, but it was even more tiring than riding a horse. With all that going on, she hadn't even thought about the cricket cage.
Later, when night fell again, she saw Xie Zhi standing by the couch and her alarm bells went off. She had no choice but to tug at Xie Zhi's sleeve and said, "Your Highness... Can you just sleep tonight and not ride horses..."
Xie Zhi's tone paused, and he realized that he had indulged himself to an absurd degree.
He had never been like this before.
"Don't act like a spoiled child." Xie Zhi looked at Nie Xiangyi and frowned slightly.
Then he said, "Sleep well, I'll take you to the hunting grounds for horseback riding tomorrow."
"Hunting...hunting ground?" Nie Xiangyi's eyes widened. "This...this is not good..."
Xie Zhi took a deep breath and tapped her forehead with his fingertips. "What are you thinking about? This time we're really riding a horse!"
Nie Xiangyi's eyes lit up when he heard this, and he fell into a deep sleep contentedly.
Waking up early the next day, she was full of energy and said, "I want to go hunting on horseback!"
Hanxu changed her into a reddish-brown outfit, combed her hair into a high ponytail, and wrapped her calves in suede boots, making them look round and slender.
This outfit suits her very well, especially her bright and lively eyes, like a vigorous and proud tabby cat, full of spirit.
"I will definitely return with a full load today!"
Xie Zhi pursed his lips into a faint smile and left the tent with her. "Let's wait and see."
Seeing him walking with her, Nie Xiangyi tilted her head and looked at him, "Your Highness, don't you need to accompany the Emperor on the hunt today?"
"Three days of hunting have passed, and you are free to go."
If she is left alone, who knows if some inexplicable brother will suddenly appear.
"drive!"
As if she had been bored out of her mind a few days ago, as soon as Nie Xiangyi mounted the pony, she was like a bird out of a cage, she rushed out with a whoosh and galloped on the grassland to her heart's content.
Xie Zhi just followed her slowly. He was dressed in green clothes like bamboo today, and he looked calm and relaxed, like a banished immortal in the rustling autumn wind.
Nie Xiangyi, dressed in vibrant clothing, stood out like a burst of color amidst the vibrant yellow autumn scenery. Xie Zhi stared at her with a cold gaze, as if grasping the string of a kite.
"Your Highness!"
After running madly for several laps on the grassland, Nie Xiangyi finally slowed down and headed towards Xie Zhi like a kite with its string reeled in.
"Why don't you ride with me, Your Highness?"
She tilted her head, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Her long, powerful thighs clamped the pony's back as she clattered towards Xie Zhi.
"Wipe your sweat." Xie Zhi didn't answer her, but handed her a handkerchief.
Fine, crystal-clear beads of sweat oozed out of her forehead, sticking to a few thin strands of hair, making her look full of vitality.
"Thank you, Your Highness!" Nie Xiangyi took the handkerchief with his eyes curved, wiped his forehead hastily, and suddenly his eyes lit up, "Your Highness, look! There's a rabbit!"
A snow-white figure rushed across the grassland.
Nie Xiangyi was afraid of startling it, so he carefully took out the bow and arrow from behind the horse and said in a low voice full of confidence, "Look at me, I can hit the target from a hundred paces away!"
The arrow shot out of the air with a "whoosh" sound, and then, under Nie Xiangyi's confident gaze, it steadily pierced into the grass.
The snow-white rabbit disappeared in an instant.
Xie Zhi pursed his lips and chuckled, "Good archery."
"It was just a mistake!" Nie Xiangyi's mouth curled up high.
This happened several times, and the vast grassland was forced to become her target, and was filled with arrows every now and then.
"There must be something wrong with the bowstring!" she exclaimed. "There must be something wrong with the arrow too! The feathers are all sticking crooked!"
"Come up, I'll teach you."
Nie Xiangyi looked at Xie Zhi's hand extended towards her, and simply handed the bowstring to him blankly.
Xie Zhi chuckled helplessly, and then Nie Xiangyi felt her body suddenly lifted into the air. Before she could scream, Xie Zhi had already carried her onto his horse.
"Your Majesty... Your Highness..."
She sat in front of Xie Zhi, her whole body as if imprisoned in his broad arms. As soon as he stretched out his hand to hold the reins, she was like a little bird, her whole body was gathered into a small ball.
The heat coming from behind her was close to her, and she could even feel the vibration from Xie Zhi's chest. Nie Xiangyi blushed inexplicably.
In a flash, Xie Zhi rode his horse and galloped with her.
"Your Highness... Ah Heng... this horse is a bit tall!" Xie Zhi's horse was much taller than hers, and the bumpy ride made her hold Xie Zhi's hand holding the reins tightly.
Xie Zhi seemed to chuckle for a moment, "You weren't afraid of high walls, so why are you afraid now?"
"It won't run away even if it climbs over the courtyard wall!" She could only feel her heart pounding because of Gao Ma's galloping.
"Hold the bow and arrow." Xie Zhi loosened the reins, and in the rushing wind, his cool fingertips suddenly grasped her hand.
Nie Xiangyi's tension was inexplicably relieved.
"Keep the bowstring tight."
He held her hand and pulled the bowstring. Xie Zhi's voice was right behind her ear, and she could almost feel Xie Zhi's warm breath against her ear.
"Hold it with your hand."
Goosebumps covered her entire body, and an inexplicable tingling sensation spread from her ears. The cold voice flowed like a clear spring, but for no reason, it made her heartbeat even more chaotic.
A bowstring without a heart.
Xie Zhi seemed to be teaching her seriously as always, "Very good, that's it."
For some reason, Nie Xiangyi blushed even more. She suddenly remembered that Xie Zhi had said the same thing when he held her waist.
She must be out of her mind!
She subconsciously wanted to move forward to avoid this inexplicable strange feeling, but Xie Zhi held her waist.
"Not paying attention."
Xie Zhi was like a teacher who was focused on his studies. He imparted knowledge calmly, but this made Nie Xiangyi blush.
She felt increasingly ashamed of this realization, and just when she was about to lose patience, Xie Zhi suddenly let go of her hand.
An arrow was shot.
Nie Xiangyi didn't even bother to see what his prey was.
"Let's go see what it is?" Although he asked, he didn't give Nie Xiangyi a chance to refuse. He just stepped on the horse's back and put his arm around Nie Xiangyi while the horse galloped.
"Aheng!" Nie Xiangyi exclaimed in surprise at the imbalance of her center of gravity, and she couldn't help but hug Xie Zhi's arm tightly.
Xie Zhi smiled softly and picked up the prey from the grass. It was a rabbit.
"Want to come again?"
Nie Xiangyi waved his hands in panic, "Forget it... forget it..."
Xie Zhi chuckled, "Don't give up halfway."
He held her hand again.
When the last arrow shot into the sky and a Saker Falcon fell to the ground, Nie Xiangyi had never thought that hunting could be such a tiring thing.
In the past, I only had to shoot two arrows symbolically and follow my grandfather to pick up prey.
It's nothing like today, letting Xie Zhi's warmth stick to her back, fingertips entwined and caressing, feeling his breath spraying, it's nothing short of torture.
But he had a serious face, as if he was just teaching seriously, "Asi is very good."
Even the praise was so understated.
Nie Xiangyi felt her face was so hot it could burn.
"Your Highness... I'm a little tired..." Nie Xiangyi let him hold her in his arms, turned around and looked at him, "Let's go to the falconry to feed the hawks!" Soft hair brushed against Xie Zhi's cheek, and he calmly tightened his embrace, "Okay."
Falconry farms are mostly prepared for female family members who do not know how to hunt. The animal officer prepares raw meat and waits for the hawks to come and peck at it.
Nie Xiangyi finally breathed a sigh of relief when she and Xie Zhi arrived at the falconry farm together. Xie Zhi's every casual movement always caused her to shudder for no reason, which was really unbearable.
She was about to dismount when she saw Xie Zhi dismount first and then extended his hand towards her.
"I can do it myself..."
Xie Zhi just raised an eyebrow, "Didn't you just say that this horse is too tall?"
How could this person be like this! He always uses her words to shut her up.
Nie Xiangyi glared at Xie Zhi angrily, but in Xie Zhi's eyes, her blushing face made her look like a kitten with no intimidation, which was extremely cute.
She simply ignored it and pounced heavily on Xie Zhi with her eyes closed.
The embrace with a refreshing fragrance held her firmly.
"Your Highness," Ling Zhu, who was not far away, approached and reported, "The Emperor has hunted a black bear today and is distributing the rewards in the main tent. Your Highness, please go and claim the reward."
"Got it." Xie Zhi glanced at Nie Xiangyi and pursed his lips, "A Si, let's go back to the tent."
"No! I haven't fed the eagle yet." Nie Xiangyi also heard Ling Zhu's report, but was unwilling to go back. She pouted and said, "I've been staying in the tent all day for the past few days. I'm almost getting moldy from sleeping! I want to play for a while longer."
As she spoke, she ran to the swinging swing in the falconry and sat down. "Your Highness, go and claim your reward. I'll feed the falcons while I wait for your return."
Xie Zhi seemed unable to persuade her, and pointed at the prey behind the horse and ordered Ling Zhu: "Send this rabbit to the kitchen and roast it tonight. Give the rest to the animal officer to cut into pieces and feed the lady's hawk."
Then he warned: "Don't let others get close to Madam."
Nie Xiangyi sat on the swing and watched Xie Zhi ride away.
The autumn sun wasn't glaring, and the rising autumn breeze brought a pleasant coolness. The swing swung back and forth, and Nie Xiangyi felt bored. Adding to the intense exertion of the past few days, she dozed off leaning against the swing.
"Brother! I've finished copying the scriptures. Now I can feed the eagle!"
Here, Pei Jue accompanied Pei Lang to feed the hawks. As soon as they reached the falconry, Pei Jue suddenly stopped.
Pei Lang was confused and followed his gaze.
Across the vast grassland, the autumn wind blew, swaying several swings like wind chimes. A beautiful woman slept on one of them, her pale hands clinging to the ropes, her head gently tilted. Her brightly colored dress swayed slightly with the swing's curve, her toes dangling into the grass.
"That's... Nie Xiangyi?" Pei Lang frowned. "How could she fall asleep outside? It's really unruly..."
Before she could finish her words, Pei Jue glanced at her indifferently and she immediately shut up.
Pei Jue turned around and walked towards her.
"Brother!" Pei Lang hurriedly called out to him, "Where are you going?! She's the Third Prince's consort now. It would be illogical for you to go there rashly."
Pei Jue paused and looked at her.
His eyes moved slightly, as if he sighed softly, "Send your cloak over."
"What?" Pei Lang's eyes widened in disbelief. Nie Xiangyi had just told her that she was punished to copy scriptures, and now she wanted her to deliver her a cloak!
"I'm not going!"
Pei Jue looked at her with seemingly gentle eyes, without saying a word.
"Okay, I'll go." Pei Lang was defeated in an instant.
But before Pei Lang could get close, she returned with a look of disdain, "You're being treated with such kindness! There's a giant Buddha guarding it!"
Pei Lang pointed at Ling Zhu who was not far away, "By order of His Highness the Third Prince, no one is allowed to approach the Third Prince's wife."
Pei Jue smiled helplessly.
"That's all right. Go feed the eagle."
Not long after, Xie Zhi came back with the reward and saw Nie Xiangyi sleeping soundly. He also heard Ling Zhu saying something beside him.
He carefully picked up Nie Xiangyi horizontally.
"Hmm..." The slight bump made Nie Xiangyi open his eyes drowsily. His soft head unconsciously rubbed his chest. "Your Highness, you're back..."
Xie Zhi's eyes met Pei Jue in the distance, and his gaze was cold.
But the voice was soothing and gentle, "Go to sleep."
