Chapter 210: Fortune Telling for You
"Madam has fainted."
"Has he been sent to the hospital?" Xie Nancheng looked solemn.
"No, Madam said she won't go to the hospital unless you come back."
"At your age, how can you be so willful?" Xie Nancheng had indeed felt a subtle change in his mother recently. Actually, it wasn't that subtle, she was just obviously rejecting Tu Ran, but he felt that his mother was not someone who would be shaken by a few words from others. He really didn't know what happened this time. She was obviously nice to Tu Ran before.
Xie Nancheng walked upstairs in a hurry with big strides.
Tu Ran followed behind him without saying a word.
In Mrs. Xie's bedroom, everything was the same as last time.
The old lady was sitting beside her with a cane, and Father Xie was accompanying her by the bed. Mrs. Xie had already woken up and was lying in bed.
"Grandma, Dad, Mom."
"Grandma, Dad, Mom."
After entering the door, the two greeted their elders respectively.
"Go check on your mother quickly. She refuses to go to the hospital no matter what." Father Xie was naturally anxious.
Xie Nancheng came forward and asked, "Mom, what's wrong with you?"
"I just felt dizzy... and then had a headache. When I was going downstairs, my vision went black and I almost fell down."
"Luckily, Aunt Ping supported me."
"Then let's go to the hospital. What are you waiting for?" Xie Nancheng frowned, feeling extremely anxious.
"Well, then drive me there, let's go to our own hospital."
"Do you want Ranran to take your pulse?" The old lady asked appropriately. Only she could say this.
"It's already this late, and you're still taking my pulse? What if it delays treatment?" Mrs. Xie became annoyed when she mentioned Tu Ran.
Xie Nancheng turned around and glanced at Tu Ran, fearing that she would be embarrassed.
But she is actually okay and is not the type of person who has mood swings easily.
"Of course, you go drive the car. Let's take Mom to the hospital."
"Um."
"You take me there, and no one else should go." Mrs. Xie refused Tu Ran's request to follow her.
Xie Nancheng was startled, "What's wrong, Mom?"
"Nothing, I just want you to accompany me, is that not possible?"
"Sure, but wouldn't it be better with more people?"
"Don't you need people at home? Don't your grandma and dad need company?" Mrs. Xie asked back.
To be honest, Tu Ran has been observing her mother-in-law since she entered the door.
Whether it was her complexion or her speech, her face was rosy and her words were sonorous and powerful. She really didn't look like a seriously ill person.
But it was not easy to conclude that the person was faking illness, so she kept observing quietly.
"I'll stay and take care of grandma."
"I just happened to have some things to pack and send to Tianyi Pavilion."
"Go and send Mom off, hurry up, don't delay." Tu Ran urged.
Xie Nancheng breathed a sigh of relief, silently grateful to Tu Ran for his warm heart despite his cool exterior. Although his face was always calm, he was actually very sensible at critical moments.
"Then we'll go first."
Xie Nancheng picked up his mother from the bed and carried her downstairs.
Tu Ran stayed in the old house.
It just so happened that she had some free time, so she packed up the herbs, plants, and the important ginseng.
The old lady's attitude did not change, and she chatted with her casually.
But it was obvious that Xie's father's attitude had become much colder.
Tu Ran didn’t know why. Was it because she moved out?
Or was it because she felt that it was she who instigated Xie Nancheng to move out?
In the high-end ward of the Xie family's private hospital.
Xie Nancheng accompanied his mother through a series of examinations before helping her back to the ward to rest.
At the door of the ward.
"Thank you, Mr.
"What's wrong with my mother?"
"From the examination, it seems that Madam is not actually ill."
"What do you mean? Do you mean that my mother is pretending?" Xie Nancheng was anxious.
"That's not what I meant. Listen to me."
"Madam doesn't appear to be suffering from any physical illness, but... considering her age and the combination of her symptoms, we diagnose her with menopausal syndrome, coupled with her significant mood swings and a tendency towards depression."
"Are you sure? My mom gets depressed?"
Xie Nancheng was amazed. His mother was a cheerful and gentle person. Unlike his grandmother who was strong-willed when she was young, she had always been devoted to the family and took good care of the Xie family. She could even deal with Xie Huailan and Xie Huaishan with ease.
"Mr. Xie, please don't get excited."
"Depression isn't what you think it is, that just because they have enough food and drink and a comfortable life, they're not sick. It's often triggered by a single event. For example, many young women these days are obsessed with relationship problems. After a breakup, they start refusing to eat, drink, or sleep, sinking into a deep emotional slump."
"My mother is already this old, how could she?" Xie Nancheng disagreed with the doctor's statement.
"Madam, it's because of your age that this is the peak period, because you have menopausal syndrome."
"This is a very complex disease, and its symptoms vary depending on the patient's constitution, personality, external environment, and other factors. Some people may feel distraught, while others may be so excited that they stay awake all night. Some may feel like cursing, become manic, or even engage in physical conflict or beating others. Others may feel constantly wanting to cry, feel depressed, and for no apparent reason, feel that life is hopeless, boring, and meaningless."
"So we suspect... Madam's dizziness and headaches are caused by menopausal syndrome. I suspect she hasn't been sleeping well lately."
"So what do we do now?"
"May I ask the lady a few questions first?"
"Let's go."
Afterwards, Xie Nancheng brought the doctor into the ward.
"Ma'am, have you been sleeping well lately?"
"not good."
"How many hours of sleep do you get a night?"
"I only wake up once every two hours. I can't last long."
"Do you have any symptoms of feeling restless or even sweating for no reason?"
"Yes, I thought it was caused by poor sleep." Mrs. Xie said calmly.
"Excuse me for asking, but have you been worried about something lately, or perhaps... something that's been stressing you out? Are you thinking about it over and over again?"
After the doctor asked this question, Mrs. Xie subconsciously looked at her son.
“Indeed, there is.”
Xie Nancheng was startled. "Mom, what's wrong with you? What's making you so anxious? Tell me."
Mrs. Xie glanced at the doctor again, and the doctor immediately tactfully left the ward.
Mrs. Xie then spoke, "Son, you must divorce Tu Ran."
"What does this have to do with anything? What does this have to do with Ranran?" Xie Nancheng was very surprised. He never expected that his mother would mention Tu Ran and bring up the divorce.
"You silly boy, are you stupid?"
"Mom is doing this for you. That woman is not suitable to be our daughter-in-law."
"Ranran is quite good. Granted, her personality is a bit strange, but she is a kind person. She cured my eyes and my grandmother's chronic illness. She is very kind to our family. If it weren't for her, I, your son, might still be blind now. The company might have belonged to Xie Huailan and Xie Huaishan long ago."
When this was mentioned, Mrs. Xie started crying again.
"We can make up for the favor in other ways. We can even give her 100 million."
"But you can't continue to be with her. She is not your destiny."
"Don't tell me you went to tell my fortune?" Xie Nancheng couldn't help laughing when he saw his mother crying. He always felt that even at her age, she was still cute when she acted like a mischievous child.
