Chapter 1 Betrayal without an Answer

The top of Canglan.

A woman in white gazed with delight at the herb swaying in the wind at the cliff's edge. Her exquisite face was filled with unconcealed joy, and her dazzling smile moved the very world. Behind her stood a handsome man in dark blue. He said nothing, simply observing the woman's movements.

The two of them traveled tirelessly for days before reaching Canglan Mountain. Finally, with all their might, they slew the beast guarding the herb and finally touched the Immortal Grass, which matured only once every seven hundred years. Needless to say, the journey was arduous; the weariness on the woman's brow and the scars on her body revealed just how difficult their journey had been. Their search for this legendary herb was for the man in dark blue, the woman in white's most important friend, a life and death companion. He claimed that his injuries were most crucial for the herb.

"Immortal Grass! Qian Ji, we really found the Immortal Grass." The breathtakingly beautiful woman was overjoyed. She stared at the strange-looking herb and said excitedly, "Immortal Grass, the soul is immortal. With this Immortal Grass, Qian Ji, your injury can finally be cured..." In order to heal her best friend's injury, all the hardships along the way were worth it.

However, the words of the woman in white stopped abruptly the next moment.

A sword, silently and suddenly, pierced her chest from behind. Her heart, at that moment, was in so much pain that she couldn't stand still. She slowly turned around and stared at the person behind her.

"Why? Why...?" She asked with difficulty, clutching her chest. Her eyes were filled with disbelief and horror.

However, there was no answer from that person. The long sword in that person's hand was covered in blood, and blood dripped down from the tip of the sword, blooming into shocking blood flowers on the ground.

That was her blood.

This man was her friend, someone she could trust with her life and death. So she was completely defenseless, and yet, it was this man who struck her from behind, a fatal blow! The cold tip of the sword pierced her chest, and time almost stood still at that moment. She almost cried blood as she looked at the man before her. His handsome face was expressionless, his long eyebrows reaching his temples, his thin lips tightly pursed. His eyes, as dark as ink, were now as cold and deep as a cold pond.

Her chest was pierced, and blood spurted into the air, a voluptuous yet desolate sight. The last thing she saw was the man's cold, indifferent eyes. Then, powerlessly, like a fluttering butterfly, she slowly fell into the abyss. And in those final moments, she didn't see the complex emotions in his eyes, which contained so much more.

She never imagined that the person she trusted the most would betray her at this moment and give her the most fatal blow, both physically and mentally!

Is it going to end like this? No! She couldn't bear it! She still had so much to do, so many unfulfilled wishes! Her blood feud hadn't been avenged yet! But was this her end? Was everything going to be completely gone...

suddenly!

"Han Yan, Han Yan, Han Yan..."

Who is calling her name in her ear?

Who was calling in her ear with such a worried tone?

Such warmth, such softness...
