Chapter 1797: Enemies Don’t Begrudge Each Other

But according to Wen Gaoren, there has been a teleportation point on the Continent of Gods at least hundreds of thousands of years ago. If it is really a temple, how exquisite and powerful must the formation be for the aura of the laws in it to have survived to this day?

If it really was a temple, why did it disappear? What happened to the former continent of gods?

"Why does the High Priest ask this? Isn't it true?" Seeing Mu Hanyan shaking her head, Shen Yuhe asked in confusion.

"I don't know either. Never mind. I don't want to think too much. Let's set up the formation," Mu Hanyan said. Her speculations and doubts were merely a passing curiosity. She didn't need an answer. After all, it happened hundreds of thousands of years ago. What did it have to do with her?

"There is a village nearby. Why don't we rest for a night and set off tomorrow?" Sikong Qinglan said, pointing to the Tianyin compass in his hand.

"Okay." Mu Hanyan nodded.

Looking at the star points on the map, there's a village about ten miles away, and the nearest villages around the teleportation point are hundreds of miles away. Living outdoors in the wilderness of the God Continent isn't as easy as it is on the Holy Court Continent, so the opportunity to rest up shouldn't be missed.

Sikong Qinglan left a mark at the teleportation point, and then the group rushed towards the village.

The night was hazy, and soon the outline of a village came into view. Although it was late at night, the village was brightly lit, and the faint sounds of panicked running and children's frightened cries could be heard.

What's going on? Mu Hanyan and the others looked at each other, all a little surprised.

"Blood Wind Bandit is here. If you have anything valuable, hand it over to me honestly. If you dare to hide it, be careful that I, Chen Xuefeng, have no eyes for your knife!" The arrogant roar came with the night wind.

"Chen Xuefeng, the Xuefeng Thief!" Shen Yuhe and Sikong Qinglan were shocked at the same time.

Mu Hanyan's eyes lit up. She had always been curious about the source of Chen Xuefeng's martial arts skills, and the bandit who was not good-looking but had extraordinary skills made her feel vaguely uneasy.

She was there the first time the Blood Wind Bandits attacked Mujia Village, and she was also there the second time Xiang Qiuzhan and others invaded Huayue City. Mu Hanyan suspected that the appearance of these two bandits was related to her, or to be more precise, to the Ba Xia Dragon Armor.

It's not the thief who steals that you're afraid of, it's the thief who's thinking about it. Mu Hanyan never takes this kind of enemy who's hiding behind the scenes lightly, but unfortunately, he escaped twice, and Mu Hanyan still doesn't know who he is.

I just happened to meet Chen Xuefeng, so I guess I could find some clues from him.

Hundreds of men, women, young and old were trapped in the center of the village, trembling with fear as they looked at the bandits around them holding sharp blades and looking ferocious.

"What a shabby village! There are only these things here, nothing of value." The doors were kicked open one by one by the bandits. They searched around but didn't find any decent valuables, so they cursed.

The village is called Guning Village. The villagers are all descendants of the Gu family. Unlike Mujia Village, which is only a thousand miles away from Tianfeng City, although Guning Village is also under the jurisdiction of Tianfeng City, it is nearly ten thousand miles away from the main city. The barrier in the fiefdom is naturally far inferior to that of Mujia Village. Their lives are only slightly better than those of refugees. Where can they get any surplus wealth?

Behind him, Chen Xuefeng, who was sitting high on the Red Charcoal Cloud Beast, looked depressed.

Mujia Village suffered a great defeat, and his bandits were killed or wounded, and his prestige plummeted. Most of the remaining troops became disloyal and dispersed, and the remaining small half suffered heavy casualties under the suppression of other bandits. In the end, only a dozen loyal men were left by his side.

This was understandable. Bandits, too, were a race of the jungle, and every powerful opponent meant a narrower chance of survival. Seeing Chen Xuefeng's forces dwindling, the other bandits were eager to seize the opportunity. For months, Chen Xuefeng and his dozen or so men had to evade both the Temple's pursuit and the other bandits' siege. One can only imagine the daily struggles between life and death.

"Mujia Village, Mujia Village!" Looking at his subordinates who had been running around for days and were as thin as skin and bones, Chen Xuefeng clenched his fists, and a blood-red look filled with hatred flashed in his eyes.

Sooner or later, I will wipe out the entire Mujia Village without a single survivor! Chen Xuefeng swore through gritted teeth.

"Let's get some food back first." Chen Xuefeng unclenched his fist and gave the order.

There is no rush for revenge; the most urgent thing right now is to fill your stomach.

He had known for a long time that there was not much money to be made in Guning Village, but he was almost starving to death, so how could he care about anything? He had finally found a chance to make a move while being surrounded by other bandits, so he couldn't return empty-handed.

The bandits knew that time was running out. If they were caught up by the temple priests or other bandits, they would lose their lives. So they stopped complaining and took away the little food left in each household. They also slaughtered the few pigs and sheep on the spot and took them away.

"Sir, please leave a way out for my Gu family." The old patriarch walked out of the crowd tremblingly and knelt down to beg Chen Xuefeng.

The Bloodwind Bandits were so brutal, leaving no food behind. How could they possibly survive? Gujia Village was so far from the Fengcheng Temple that even if they tried to seek refuge in the city, it would be too late. They would all starve to death on the way.

"Stop talking nonsense and get out of my way!" Chen Xuefeng kicked the old patriarch so hard that he vomited blood and fell to the ground.

"Chief!" Several tribesmen quickly helped the chief away and looked at Chen Xuefeng with grief and anger.

"Since we are going to die anyway, we might as well fight them." Someone shouted.

"Let's fight, fight them!" Hundreds of villagers shouted in unison.
