Chapter 2 The Soul Exploded

I quietly hid behind a large tree not far away, sat down on the ground to regulate my inner energy and condense my spiritual body, waiting for the moment when this person's tribulation would end.

Behind them, thunderous roars echoed through the valley.

Just when my spirit was about to dissipate, the dark clouds in the sky finally dispersed when the eighty-first thunderclap sounded.

I gazed at the distant horizon where the first rays of dawn and the still-shining moon appeared simultaneously in the east, a sign that the sun and moon were shining together, a sign that the supreme deity was undergoing tribulation to become a celestial being.

This lecherous god actually managed to transcend his tribulation and attain the position of a celestial deity.

I scoffed, it's all thanks to the spiritual power of me and the mountain god.

Not far away, a person who had survived a near-death experience from a lightning tribulation lay motionless, his white robes stained with blood from countless cuts and bruises. He looked utterly wretched.

I thought he couldn't hold on and was going to die.

But after a while, he was able to endure the immense pain.

The scene shows him getting up from the ground with great perseverance, and then sitting up to begin condensing his divine spirit.

Seeing this, I felt a surge of admiration.

Unfortunately...

My own dissipating spirit constantly reminds me that I have lost my cultivation because of my lust for his beauty, and that I have also dragged the mountain god down with me.

In an instant, I was consumed by rage again, a demon radiating resentment, glaring at him with bitter hatred and resentment...

I recalled the wandering ghosts that had haunted me day and night over the years, who had once tempted me to use the Mountain God's Seal to perform a forbidden technique to absorb the spiritual energy of heaven and earth.

Since it is a forbidden technique, it must be an evil and sorcery that goes against the laws of nature.

I am a fairy who cultivates the righteous energy of heaven and earth, so I would never have fallen for the tricks of those demons and monsters before.

But now that I'm about to be annihilated, as long as I can get my spiritual energy back and save my life, I don't care about any forbidden or unrestricted techniques.

I gazed at the breathtakingly beautiful person with perfectly proportioned features sitting not far away.

It radiated a dazzling golden light, just like a harmless white rabbit.

It was slowly enveloped and devoured by the evil black demonic energy emanating from my body...

Just as I felt the spiritual energy in my body gradually returning to normal.

I noticed that the demonic energy surrounding both me and this deity was growing stronger.

A wicked, arrogant laugh rang in his ears: "Little flower spirit, you have indeed not disappointed me. This body of the High God suits me very well."

Only then did I realize that the evil spirit that had been harassing and bewitching me all day was also using the magic seal in my hand to greedily absorb the spiritual power of this deity.

I had long heard the legend that powerful demonic energy could seize another's body and refine one's own demonic form.

Now, this stinking monster has absorbed the spiritual power of this god.

It is highly likely that they will seize his body and take it for themselves before the god's primordial spirit can reunite and return to its rightful place.

The primordial spirit of a deity that fails to return to its rightful place may truly be scattered and unable to be reborn.

Now that my spiritual power has almost recovered, my anger has begun to subside, and I realize that I may have really fallen for this damned thing's trick.

If I don't stop now and let this ugly thing succeed in taking the body of the god, then I'll be just like this filthy devil, and what's the point of talking about cultivating immortality?

Thinking of this, I shouted at the monster, "You blind bastard, how dare you act so recklessly here!"

After saying that, I wanted to stop and beat this ghost to a pulp. Although I knew that this forbidden technique had started, I did not know how to stop it.

I didn't care about the consequences of stopping abruptly, but as soon as I stopped, a loud "boom" rang in my ears, and my body and the mass of demonic energy were blasted away by a white light emanating from the god.

That thing was blown away somewhere, I don't know.

With the protection of the Mountain God's Seal, I was blasted several meters away before crashing heavily to the ground. My vision went black and I lost consciousness.

In a daze, I felt as if I had spent nearly ten springs, summers, autumns, and winters in a vast white chaos, in the form of a flower.

I gradually regained consciousness as I transformed into human form in a daze.

I stared blankly as an old man with a goatee occupied the banyan tree branch that Uncle Mountain God liked to lie on, engrossed in reading my storybook.

I asked him who he was, and only then did I learn that he was the newly arrived mountain god.

Seeing this old man who had inexplicably taken over the position of the Mountain God Uncle, I felt a sense of unease.

A surge of inexplicable anger welled up within him, and he shoved the old man down from the tree.

While cursing and swearing, she chased after him and snatched her storybook back: "You old geezer, who told you to take over my position as the mountain god? I'm much younger than you. Shouldn't you be retired at your age?"

This old geezer, stroking his beard, stubbornly argued back:

"You think I wanted to come here? This unreliable brat neglected his duty and allowed all sorts of demons to wreak havoc here. Not only did he cause Wen Heng's soul to be scattered during his tribulation here, but he also aided the demons in their evil deeds, disrupting the order of heaven and earth. In the end, when the Heavenly Court found him, he was already a remnant soul who had died for love."

"The Heavenly Court saw that these young people were unreliable, so they sent this old man like me here to guard the mountain and live out my retirement, right?"

Upon hearing the news of the mountain god's death, I collapsed to the ground in a daze: "How is the old man now?"

The old mountain god continued stroking his beard with a regretful expression: "Since he has already perished, what happens next is the job of that old Yama King, and we can only wait and see!"

After hearing this, my eyes reddened and my throat tightened: "I told you long ago that beautiful women are a source of trouble, didn't I? Now look what happened, you've really lost your life."

I don't know whether to be happy or sad. I'm happy because the uncle wasn't killed because of my mistake, but because he was willing to die with the person he loved.

Even if that uncle were to die, he'd be happy, given his personality.

Sadly, the drunken uncle who used to boast about using me to make medicinal wine but taught me to read, taught me cultivation, and brought me delicious food and storybooks is gone forever...

Who knew that this old mountain god would snatch the storybook back from my hand while I was choking with emotion, and then leap to the top of the tree.

When I finally realized what was happening, I angrily tried to fly up the tree as well, but I couldn't use any magic at all.

The smug old man added sarcastically, "There's someone even worse off than him. You used forbidden techniques without permission, causing Wen Heng to not only fail his tribulation but also lose ten thousand years of cultivation, ending up with his soul scattered. Poor thing..."

It's better not to mention him, because mentioning him makes my anger burn even more fiercely: "He deserves it. If it weren't for this pretty boy draining all the spiritual power from me and the mountain god,..."

How could I have been bewitched by that demonic thing into using forbidden techniques? Besides, I was wrong to reclaim my spiritual power.

"Then your spiritual power also absorbs the spiritual power of all living things in this world to transform into a spiritual body. This place is blessed with outstanding natural resources and abundant spiritual energy. Why can't the God Wenheng, who is about to undergo the Heavenly Tribulation, cultivate on his own?" the old man retorted.

I rolled my eyes at the old mountain god with a wicked grin; the more I looked at him, the more I disliked and hated him.

Not only did she usurp the position of the mountain god from the old man, but she also stole my storybook and defended that pretty boy.

I'll give him a good spanking today, or he'll regret it.

Why can't I use any spells?

I stood under the big tree, my face dark with anger, staring at the disrespectful old man above me. I tried jumping countless times, but I couldn't use any magic to fly or escape.

The old mountain god, sitting on a tree branch with my entire bag of storybooks in his arms, said with a mix of pride and pity: "I'll tell you this for the sake of your storybooks. It's because you used forbidden techniques without permission that you were punished by the heavens and cursed. Now you have a body like a mortal without any magic power."

Now you must either find the immortal body of the High God Wenheng, retrieve his three souls and seven spirits, and gain his forgiveness to lift the curse of heavenly punishment; otherwise, you can only endure eight hundred years of human suffering in the mortal realm, eventually growing old and dying..."

Before the old man could finish speaking, I said with great dissatisfaction, "Isn't this just making me suffer for eight lifetimes? Why should I?"

The old man scoffed: "Why are some spells called forbidden spells? You reap what you sow."

"If that brat doesn't drain my spiritual energy and cause my soul to shatter, how can I use forbidden techniques? Why isn't he being punished by heaven?"

"Wasn't he also blown to pieces by you because he drained your spiritual power?"

I was speechless when the old man asked me a question, and I couldn't refute him... I could only hopelessly grab my messy hair and keep hitting the big tree to vent my extremely agitated mood at this moment.
