As for the palace maid who had feelings for Zhu Silang, I never saw her again.
It is said that she was accused of violating palace rules, engaging in licentious behavior, and bewitching princes, and was secretly given a white silk ribbon, with the public claiming that she hanged herself.
I was unaware of these matters.
It was something Ranmo overheard while wandering around Zhu Silang's mansion when he was bored, from the gossiping maids.
In the end, Zhu Silang had no choice but to obey the emperor's decree and was forced to accept the arranged marriage, marrying the daughter of a general.
I think he must hate me to the core.
On the day of his wedding, I disguised myself and went to his house hoping to get a few drinks at the wedding.
And I must say, his wedding wine was indeed a fine and exquisite brew.
Holding a jar of fine wine, I sat on the eaves opposite Zhu Silang's wedding room, smelling the aroma of the wine, gazing into the room across the way, but I had no desire to drink it.
Ranmo, sitting next to me, stared intently at the fine wine in my arms, swallowing hard as if she were drooling. "I say, Master Hua, did we come to this manor to ask for wine, or to see that person?"
"Today is his wedding day, and I want to be sober about it."
"What? Do you want to ruin someone's wedding night?"
I rolled my eyes at him: "Didn't you break the window last time?"
Just then, Zhu Silang, staggering drunkenly, arrived at the door of the bridal chamber and was about to push it open.
He paused, then suddenly turned his head, his eyes dark and menacing as he looked up in my direction.
Luckily, I reacted quickly and rolled over to hide behind another slope of the roof.
I don't know if he's even noticed me.
Then, a squeak was heard.
The door opened, and he stepped into the bridal chamber.
With a creak, the door closed again.
I breathed a sigh of relief and sat back down on the roof.
"Coward! Are you going to drink this or not?" Ranmo said sarcastically from the side, smacking her lips and urging me to drink.
But my eyes were fixed on the situation inside the house across the street.
But they found that there was no movement inside.
Just as I was wondering what was going on, Ranmo circled around me, urging me to drink, thus blocking my view.
The jar of fine wine in my hand slipped and rolled off the roof tiles.
In a moment of crisis, I scrambled off the roof and, thankfully, caught the wine bottle before it hit the ground.
But as I stood up, a cold, long sword was pressed against my neck.
When I looked up, I saw Zhu Silang with a stern face, his gaze sharp and cold, as if he wanted to tear me to pieces and pointed his sword at me.
"Witch, you dare to come again!"
But I calmly replied, "You want to kill me? Then go ahead and do it!"
Sure enough, he raised his longsword without any mercy, intending to stab me.
In that critical moment, Ranmo suddenly transformed into a force that knocked the longsword out of his hand.
With a clang, the longsword in his hand fell to the ground.
Zhu Silang's face turned pale with anger. He bent down, picked up the long sword from the ground, and tried to stab me again.
But Ranmo hovered above Zhu Silang's head and whispered a warning to him: "If you dare to harm a single hair on her head today, you will see the corpses of your father and brothers tomorrow!"
Zhu Silang stared at me with a bloodthirsty, murderous look for a long time before reluctantly throwing his long sword away.
But he grabbed me and carried me into the bridal chamber like a chick, then slammed me to the ground.
The bride, who was sitting on the wedding bed with her veil covering her head, was startled by the noise and lifted her veil.
Her face paled, revealing a look of utter astonishment.
Ranmo wanted to come in and teach the kid a lesson, but I stopped him, saying, "This is none of your business, don't interfere! Get out!"
"Get out!" I shouted again.
He warned Zhu Silang, whose face was full of anger, in a low voice: "Try bullying her if you dare!"
Then he floated away dejectedly.
After Ranmo left, I looked up at Zhu Silang and asked indifferently, "What are you going to do?"
Zhu Silang reached out and gripped my neck tightly, frowning as he coldly said, "It's all because of you that my A'ke was sentenced to death. Don't you feel any remorse at all? And you still dare to provoke me again!"
My neck and face burned from his choking, and I managed to squeeze out a voice: "I'm sorry, but as her lover, you provoked her but couldn't protect her. The culprit is actually yourself, and you can't blame anyone else!"
Actually, I was saying this to myself. He and I were just in the same boat, only thinking about loving each other but having no ability to protect others.
After hearing what I said, Zhu Silang's eyes dimmed and then he lowered them in frustration.
He coldly scoffed, as if unwilling to face reality, and said, "Don't try to find an excuse like this to keep bothering me and spying on me all day long!"
He quickly opened his eyes again, his gaze fierce: "You like to peek at other people's wedding nights, and you like me, don't you! Then I'll grant your wish!"
After saying that, he pushed me hard to the ground again, and started to tear off my clothes while bending down to kiss my neck.
Although his face resembled that of Zhou Lang and Wen Heng, I only wanted to see him; I knew in my heart that this person was neither Wen Heng nor Zhou Lang.
His earthy, alcohol-smelling aura was incomparable to the refined and otherworldly air of Zhou Yu.
I only woke up when he leaned down and pressed himself against me.
I was so shocked that I kicked him off me.
He was only human, after all, and he didn't expect me to fight back. He was caught off guard and kicked off me.
I stood up and straightened my clothes and hair.
Looking down at the bewildered man on the ground with a look of disdain, she said, "And what are you? You just have the same face as him. I only gave you a second glance because you can't even protect your own lover. It's already a miracle that anyone would marry you!"
I picked up the wine jar from the ground and waved it at him: "This wine is good. Congratulations on your marriage!"
"Hehe...hehe...hehehehehehe!"
Zhu Silang laughed incoherently as if he had lost his mind. He tried to stand up several times, but he staggered and could not stand up.
The pretty bride, however, very sensibly ran over and helped him up, frowning with worry as she said, "Your Highness!"
The prince laughed until tears streamed down his face. He looked at his beautiful bride beside him and then at me: "It's because of my face that you keep bothering me. You like to peek, don't you? Today I'll let you see as much as you want!"
Then he suddenly pressed his lips to the bride's lips and launched a fierce attack, tearing at her clothes as his large hands began to roam freely over the beauty's body.
Watching Zhou Lang passionately kissing another woman.
My heart suddenly ached as if it had been stabbed with a knife.
A wave of blood rushed to his chest, making him want to vomit. He stood frozen in place, his fists clenched so tightly that his fingernails dug into his skin.
At that moment, Ranmo suddenly rushed in, circled around me, and shielded my eyes, blocking my view.
"Don't look, don't get excited, this has nothing to do with Ling Yan Shangxian and Zhou Lang Wenheng."
He kept muttering in my ear for a long time.
My stiff body finally relaxed.
I couldn't help but uncork the bottle in my hand, then tilted my head back and gulped it down.
"Danmo! Let's go..."
