For the next two days, even Feng Qiwu didn't come to see Ruoruo, and Mo Jinyan returned all the letters from the Wutong clan requesting contracts.
He was left behind on the battlefield. The Wutong clan did not take him with them because he was of mixed blood. It was his father who took him back, helped him sort out his bloodline, and helped him hatch.
It was only because the Phoenix Clan used the last bit of Phoenix True Fire to nurture his immortal essence that he did not grow into a half-bird, half-tree form.
Now, the Phoenix Clan is his true kin, the Immortal Realm is his home, and Ruoruo is his true sister.
He has a father, a mother, brothers, and sisters, so he will not hurt his family's feelings for the sake of outsiders.
After receiving Mo Jinyan's rejection letter, the Wutong clan did not try to persuade him again, acting as if nothing had happened.
In the past few days, the queen has not received any elders, and the number of elders kneeling in front of the palace has been increasing.
The female ruler simply made the blessed land she was going to give to Ruoruo even more exquisite, and accompanied Ruoruo in alchemy, cultivation, and meals every day.
Ruoruo tugged at her sleeve with some unease: "Your Majesty... when you go to suppress the formation, will you also be like the Tongtian Tree, never able to leave?"
Although Tongtian wanted to keep it from her, Ruoruo wasn't stupid. Thinking about the Tongtian Tree's experiences over the past million years, she naturally became more and more worried about the Queen.
"For the past million years, I have never left the Realm of Immortality. To me, it makes no difference." The Queen's tone was indifferent, as if she didn't care.
If Ruoruo felt a little sad, then what the Queen said meant it was true.
Not wanting to leave and being unable to leave are two different things; one is voluntary, and the other is forced.
She couldn't help but whisper, "You and Mumu have both sacrificed so much... Is it all to fulfill the promise you made to Mumu's master?"
"The Heavenly Wood was entirely for the sake of the agreement." The Queen lowered her eyes. "I... am not entirely so."
She looked at the sky outside the courtyard and said softly, "Ruo Ruo, the Realm of Immortality is beautiful. It is the home I have cultivated for millions of years. I cannot abandon it."
“But I heard from Zhiluo that the elders are pressuring you.” Ruoruo said, her eyes reddening. “Sometimes I think it would have been better if I hadn’t come. But it’s not fair to Mumu. I took Mumu away, but I hurt you. It’s not fair to you.”
"Fairness is not the only important thing in the world, especially for those in the position of ruler. They cannot pursue fairness, but can only weigh the pros and cons and make choices." The queen said gently and calmly as she inscribed runes on the blessed land in her hand, which was shaped like a small lotus pendant.
"There aren't many people in the Realm of Immortality, not as many as in the other realms. Some are ignorant, some are selfish, and some are cowardly. It's not as wonderful as you imagine. This is because it's easy to rule a realm, but difficult to educate it."
Where there is humanity, there will inevitably be selfishness; this is unavoidable. However, the choices made under the influence of extreme selfishness are often so shocking. Everything in this world has its black and white, and its gray areas; generalizations are impossible.
Zhiluo's initial fear of her leaving stemmed from her own selfish desires. However, when she told Ruoruo about this, it was simply because she wanted Ruoruo to persuade her to leave, as she couldn't bear to see her confined here. This was a choice Zhiluo made by mustering her last bit of courage and overcoming her own selfish desires.
The female ruler picked up Ruoruo and said, "You are still young and have a long way to go. There is no need to lock up your Dao heart because of these things."
All you need to remember is that everything in this world is predetermined. What you gain inevitably means someone else loses; what others gain inevitably means you lose. The phrase "survival of the fittest" is the truth hidden beneath all legal provisions.
Ruoruo stared wide-eyed as she received a teaching unlike any other from the Queen.
"It's all for survival. However, above survival, what's more important is the Dao. Your master, Qingmu, killed three thousand sinful immortals and was locked on the chessboard of heaven and earth in pursuit of his Dao; your father suppressed the evil poison with his own body in pursuit of his Dao; I stay here also in pursuit of my Dao."
As long as you can ensure that your faith remains steadfast, you shouldn't argue about whether your actions are right or wrong.
The principles of right and wrong, cause and effect, are difficult to define. The so-called divine retribution and punishment are merely the way Heaven maintains its way; they do not prove that Heaven is right.
While some parts of the story are refreshing, others remain only vaguely understood.
On this last day, the Queen spent the entire day discussing the Dao with Ruoruo.
Both Mo Jinyan and Yue Bai gained a lot, and their Dao hearts became increasingly clear.
Mo Jinyan felt that, in terms of Dao intent, this female ruler was perhaps the best in the Six Realms.
She resides in the royal city, yet possesses eyes that pierce the clouds, encompassing everything in the world, understanding everyone she can comprehend, and protecting every citizen with a stable and steadfast heart.
If the Realm of Immortality is a medicinal field, she is like a medicine attendant, without a trace of emotion, throwing away rotten medicines, trying her best to save or remove sick medicines, protecting and cultivating the medicinal field.
Ruoruo's anxious heart, which had been pounding for days, gradually calmed down as the Queen's gentle voice rang out.
As dawn broke, the Queen took a drop of blood from Ruoruo's fingertip and refined it into a lotus pendant. She then stuffed all of Ruoruo's messy storage items into the pendant and sorted them out.
She led Ruoruo into the blessed land inside the lotus pendant: "This is the medicine storage room. Precious spiritual herbs and refined pills can be stored here without any loss."
This is the alchemy room. This furnace was made by me using a side branch of the Tongtian wood and a divine-grade paulownia wood. Your Kunlun even gave me some vines, which guarantee that the furnace will not explode again. Moreover, it can speed up the alchemy process and improve the quality of the life-giving energy.
This is a medicinal herb field. Just throw your favorite seeds in, and the array here will place them in the corresponding attribute medicinal herb fields. Take good care of them.
