Chapter 16 Daddy is a big liar!

Mo Yong watched Yan Ruoruo sob softly, a dull pain shooting through his chest: "Don't cry, Father was sick, but he's better now."

Yan Ruoruo naturally didn't believe it. She recounted everything she had heard outside the Ziwei Star Pavilion and pressed, "What do you mean by 'not much time left to live'? Father, you mustn't lie to Ruoruo!"

Mo Yong didn't expect Ruoruo to arrive so early and to have overheard what he said to Yan Qingran.

Meeting Ruoruo's stubborn gaze, Mo Yong slowly closed his eyes. Ruoruo was smart; she couldn't be easily coaxed.

So he had no choice but to say, half-truthfully, "I was indeed injured. If I hadn't survived the treatment today, I would have had little time left. But I have survived now, and I will be fine in the future."

Ruoruo pouted slightly, feeling that her father's words were unbelievable, yet she couldn't find any evidence to refute them.

However, since Mo Yong had already given his answer, Ruoruo knew that no matter how much she asked, she wouldn't have anything more to say.

"Your Highness, I have personally prepared medicine for you. Please take it and rest. Do not argue with His Majesty." Tinglan brought in the medicine.

Mo Yong took the medicine and changed the subject: "Tomorrow is your investiture ceremony. Take the medicine, eat something, get a good night's sleep, and get plenty of rest. Don't worry about anything else, your father is here."

Ruoruo frowned, drank the medicine in one gulp, and then stuck out her tongue because it tasted bitter.

Tinglan quickly stuffed a piece of candy into Ruoruo's hand.

Mo Yong was afraid that Ruoruo would question him again after she recovered, so he said after Ruoruo finished taking her medicine, "Father still has things to take care of, so you should rest well."

Before Ruoruo could refuse, Mo Yong strode away from Xixiang Palace.

Ruoruo huffed angrily.

Daddy is a big liar; he definitely didn't tell the truth.

Her eyes darted around, and she turned her gaze to Tinglan, slowly putting on a pitiful expression in an attempt to get some information: "Tinglan, is Father angry with me?"

"How could His Majesty be angry with you? His Majesty is indeed very busy." Tinglan comforted him, but secretly hoped that His Majesty would really be angry. "You too, I told you not to run around, why did you sneak out?"

"It's bad enough that Xiaoxian was punished with a cane, but you also have to get injured and take medicine. Why did you have to go through all that trouble?"

Ruoruo forced a smile and said obediently, "Tinglan, I was wrong. I shouldn't have run off like that. Please don't be angry with me, okay? Please talk to me, okay?"

"Xiaoxian is just worried about you, how could she be angry with you?" Tinglan was used to Ruoruo's quirky and mischievous nature, and now seeing Ruoruo being so careful, she suddenly felt a sense of pleasure.

Ruoruo blinked and gave him a sweet smile: "Tinglan is the best!"

Ruoruo was already quite shrewd, thinking, "Humph, bad daddy lied to Ruoruo, I'll find a way to ask him myself!" Tinglan seemed to know a lot, so she tried to get more information out of him.
