Chapter 45: Healed

After a cup of tea, Xiao Shujin looked at the little girl drinking milk beside her and thought to herself, "Mom, are all babies nowadays so cruel? I cried in my heart."

Feng Jiu saw his incredible expression and said, "Don't worry, you'll be able to walk tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow you'll be able to walk briskly."

She pretended to take out a medicine bottle from her small bag and poured a black pill into it for him.

Xiao Shujin looked at the ugly pill in his hand, and the corners of his mouth twitched. Are you sure it's okay to eat?

Seeing that he had no intention of eating it, Fengjiu used her short legs to climb onto the bed.

He took the medicine from his hand and stuffed it into Xiao Shujin's mouth. Before Xiao Shujin wanted to spit it out, the medicine had already dissolved.

Feng Jiu rolled her eyes when she saw him like this: "The pain will be gone in an hour, and you'll be able to get out of bed tomorrow."

He climbed out of bed angrily, tossed his short legs around, snorted, and went out.

The person on the bed finally realized that he hadn't felt any pain in his legs since the little girl started treating him, and his lower body had basically no feeling.

Just as he was thinking about it, Old Lady Feng came in with a tray. When Old Fourth Feng left, he told his family that the person carried back by the horse was the great general of the Southern Feng Kingdom.

Old Mrs. Feng also saw the miserable state of the body when it was just carried back, so she went to the kitchen to prepare some light side dishes and boiled a bowl of millet porridge.

She took out a small table and placed it on the bed. Old Lady Feng looked at the person on the bed and said, "My child, you've suffered so much. Who the hell hurt you like this?"

Xiao Shujin: "Auntie, I'm fine."

When Old Lady Feng saw the deep whip marks on his hands, her eyes turned red: "You still say you're fine, but if it weren't for my granddaughter's magic pill, you would have died long ago."

Old Lady Feng was also a soft-hearted person. She knew that Xiao Shujin only had an older sister left in her family, and all the men in the family had died in battle.

Looking at a child who is almost the same age as her son, it would be a lie to say that she doesn't feel heartbroken. If her son was injured like this, she would be heartbroken to death.

Xiao Shujin looked at the nagging old lady, and suddenly her eyes became hot and her voice choked: "Auntie, I'm not in pain."

It had been a long time since someone had nagged him like this. Ever since his father died in the war, his mother died of grief not long after.

He was the only one left in the entire general's mansion. Although he had a sister, she could not leave the palace. The lady in front of him was blaming him, but every word was full of heartache.

Old Lady Feng glared at him angrily: "The ones my granddaughter gave you were all elixirs. If you get hurt next time, I won't be willing to give them to you."

Xiao Shujin nodded: "Auntie, don't worry, it won't happen again. This time I was injured because someone ambushed me."

Old Lady Feng sighed: "Oh, if your mother saw you like this, how distressed would she be?"

Xiao Shujin: "Auntie, do you know my mother?"

Old Lady Feng: "Speaking of your mother, we grew up together. When my family was in trouble, it was your mother who hid me and saved us. Otherwise, I would have been dead for decades."

"Let's not talk about the past. Eat your meal first and have a good sleep. We'll talk about it when you feel better."

Seeing that the old lady didn't want to talk, Xiao Shujin didn't ask any more questions. He picked up the bowl and started eating, gobbling it down.

Old Mrs. Feng poured him some water and told him to eat slowly.

Seeing that he was so thin that he looked unrecognizable, Old Lady Feng thought of asking her granddaughter for some nourishing food to feed him.

Seeing that he had finished everything on the plate, Old Lady Feng told him to have a good sleep and she would make him a delicious meal tomorrow.

Xiao Shujin nodded and went to sleep.

When he woke up again, Feng Laosi had returned and brought the manager of Baohetang with him.

When the shopkeeper saw Xiao Shujin wake up, he immediately knelt down and said, "Your subordinate greets the master. I finally found you."

Xiao Shujin raised her hand to signal him to stand up: "Don't announce my return in advance. Just send a letter to the emperor secretly. I'm afraid everyone is saying I'm dead now."

The shopkeeper said: "We have been searching for our master everywhere for the past six months. The emperor also suspected that there was a spy in the military camp. The Fourth Prince has gone to the border. Don't worry about the military affairs, the Fourth Prince is here!"

Xiao Shujin nodded: "Chen'er is brave and resourceful, but he is still young. I am afraid that he will be schemed by those villains."

"Master, don't worry. The Fourth Prince will definitely make arrangements."

Xiao Shujin: "I will stay at the Feng family for the time being. My lineage must be kept secret. You can go back first."

The shopkeeper said: "Yes, I will take my leave first."

After the shopkeeper left, Feng Lao Si and Feng Jiu came in. Seeing the serious look on his face, Feng Lao Si said, "Brother Xiao, just rest assured and recuperate at home. Don't worry about other things."

Feng Jiu looked at Xiao Shujin and asked, "Uncle Xiao, don't you feel any pain?"

Xiao Shujin smiled and said, "Shouldn't you know whether it hurts or not? Why are you asking me?"

Fengjiu made a face at him: "I saw you didn't even make a sound, I thought you weren't in pain."

"Even if it hurts, you have to grit your teeth and bear it, otherwise where will my Xiao family put their face?"

Fengjiu admires this iron-willed general very much. In her previous life, Fengjiu was also a soldier, so she has a very special feeling for soldiers.

She handed him the spiritual spring water in the teacup and asked him to drink it. After a while, Xiao Shujin felt the difference in the water without asking any questions.

The next morning, Old Lady Feng came in with a bowl of chicken soup and some side dishes. Seeing that he looked much more energetic than yesterday, she felt relieved.

After a while, Feng Jiu also came in. Seeing that Xiao Shujin had finished breakfast, she climbed onto the bed with her short legs.

When Xiao Shujin saw Feng Jiu getting on the bed, his body trembled. He was already traumatized by her.

Fengjiu didn't care. She removed the splint on his foot and let him get out of bed and walk around.

Xiao Shujin looked at Feng Jiu like she was a fool, "Little girl, it takes a hundred days to heal a broken bone, and I've only had one day, and you want me to get out of bed and leave."

Feng Jiu didn't say anything, but pinched his thigh directly. Xiao Shujin retracted his foot in pain.

Xiao Shujin looked puzzled: "Little girl, why are you pinching me?"

He touched his thigh with his hand and suddenly realized that his legs could move. He kicked them again and stood up.

Looking at Fengjiu lying on the bed, he smiled like a fool. Without saying a word, he picked up Fengjiu and started kissing her on the face, leaving Fengjiu's face covered with saliva.

Feng Jiu reacted quickly and covered his mouth with hers, then yelled, "You stink so much, and you're still kissing me. How long have you not washed?"

Xiao Shujin then put down the Fengjiu: "Not long, just over half a year."

Seeing Fengjiu stepping back as soon as she got to the ground, Xiao Shujin wanted to hug her again in a naughty way, but Fengjiu ran away.

Old Lady Feng saw that he was now acting like a young man, whereas he was lifeless yesterday. She said, "I told you that my granddaughter would definitely be able to cure you. You'll be able to get out of bed today."
