Xu Yan sat on a box, hugging her knees, and thought for a moment: "Hmm... I can't say I've always liked it. I didn't get into art until high school. To be honest, my initial motivation wasn't very pure. In the second half of my second year of high school, all the students with poor academic performance in our school were required to learn a special skill, and I chose painting."
"I was painting all day and night, sitting in the studio until the early morning every day. It was really annoying. I hated it so much that I just wanted to break the paintbrush and burn it. Most of my classmates who were learning to paint felt the same way."
"But when did it start? It was probably the first time I was praised and exhibited. I thought I didn't like painting, but I was pushed onto the podium. The people holding the medal were all blind. It was actually just a small encouragement award. But after that, I no longer resisted painting."
"Would that be considered saying one thing and doing another?" Xu Yan thought, laughing. "As for my love for design, it was later, when I was admitted to university. But I've never had a sense of mission in fashion design, and I've never thought that I'd be in this industry for the rest of my life."
Zhao Mei propped up her head and listened carefully, thinking about herself: "But I don't have any hobbies at all. It seems like I've always been pushed around."
After hearing this, Xu Yan understood why Zhao Mei was so worried. She smiled and stood up, patting Zhao Mei's head. "Just keep going. A life without a goal is like the lottery. If you win, everyone is happy. If you lose, you're just sad. At most, you'll lose a little money. Just keep trying. Finding a goal is always easier than winning the lottery."
Zhao Mei thought that winning the lottery was probably easier for her than finding a goal, but Sister Xu Yan was right. Just like when she won the lottery, life is always full of surprises. Why should she pursue an unchanging goal?
After a sudden realization, Zhao Mei belatedly slapped her hand away from her head. "Okay, okay, I get it. Stop rubbing it. I'm really too lazy to put it back together. Have you finished revising the design? Didn't you say you'd be shooting it soon?"
Xu Yan's hand froze in mid-air. She turned around and was about to go back to revise the manuscript, but suddenly, Xu Yan's cell phone rang.
It was Xu Yan's photographer friend who arrived. Zhao Mei followed Xu Yan to the door to meet him, to prevent others from seeing him in the hall and running away because of fear for his life.
When the elevator door opened, Zhao Mei saw not the elderly photography enthusiast she had imagined, but a huge suitcase with a tall backpack on top. Before Zhao Mei could react, the backpack made a voice like a spirit: "Sister Yan? Come and help me, I know you are standing and watching."
Xu Yan had been standing aside with her hands on her hips. When she heard the voice, she smiled and walked over: "You guessed right. In fact, I was planning to watch how you got into this mess yourself."
When the backpack was moved away, a boy was revealed with two lenses hanging around his neck and camera bags hanging on his waist and back. He had a thin figure, black-framed glasses on his clean face, and his hair was loose and long, and it looked like he hadn't had a cut for some time.
Xu Yan helped him put his things down, then pulled Zhao Mei over and introduced her: "This is the photographer I told you about, Tong Ming. Don't underestimate him just because he's young. Although he's sloppy, many celebrities and designers actually look for him."
The man named Tong Ming rolled his eyes at Xu Yan. "Who's sloppy? If someone hadn't dragged me all the way here, would I be like this? I spent a week shooting for the last order. I was originally planning to take a vacation, otherwise I would be so busy during Fashion Week."
"Come on, I don't know who saw the photo I sent, but I'll do it, ...
Tong Ming was startled just as he was about to shake hands: "Boss?!"
Xu Yan crossed her arms and nodded: "Why, is it inappropriate?"
Zhao Mei also smiled generously at Tong Ming and extended her hand: "Hello, I am indeed the current owner of Bello Fashion Company."
Tong Ming lifted his camera bag and freed one arm to shake hands with Zhao Mei. "Hello, hello. I've heard a lot about you. Sister Yan always tells me that you're beautiful and that her designs are perfect for you. You look like a pervert."
Xu Yan's reserved smile froze on her face, and the veins on her forehead bulged out: "Tong Ming, if you still want to leave my studio alive, then you'd better shut up."
Zhao Mei watched the two bickering and laughed secretly. After laughing, she didn't forget to ask the real matter: "So how do we shoot? There are no scenes or anything here, right?"
Tong Ming glanced at Xu Yan and explained to Zhao Mei, "I've known about her problem for a long time. A lousy studio is her normal state. When she first started out on her own and started her own brand, the factory she rented was lousy. The conditions here are considered good."
Seeing him exposing her shortcomings, Xu Yan refused to admit defeat. "Someone's studio is right next to mine. They're just looking for a bargain. I'm not like you, commuting two hours and then trying to say I chose it. After buying the factory, I'm still so poor I have to sleep in a tent. Let's not laugh at each other, anyway."
Zhao Mei just watched the two of them bickering and exposing each other's shortcomings while they swiftly cleaned up a place and took out all kinds of stands and background cloths, and even photography props from the huge backpack, which looked like a treasure bag.
After the arrangement was completed, Zhao Mei was called over to change clothes. This time she would take pictures of five sets of clothes and send them to the magazine, so that they could choose three sets to publish.
Brand new brands generally cannot appear on TIDE, which is known as the top of the three major fashion magazines. But Zhao Mei is a major shareholder of the Lanna Group, so getting a few pages is not a big problem, and it is most suitable for early publicity.
