Chapter 61 Someone Who Wants to Torture Zhou Yanci to Death Has Appeared

Shang Wu curled her lips, finding it amusing.
"When did Attorney Lu become so gossipy? You used to avoid hearing about these things, afraid of causing you trouble."
Teased by her, Lu Rang's eyes flickered uncomfortably for a moment: "Are you going to tell me or not?"
Shang Wu pointed at the person on the computer screen.
"This is Zhou Yanci's cousin, Zhou Ze'an. He and Zhou Yanci fought almost to the death for the position of Chengzhou's successor."
Her eyes darkened slightly as she spoke of this.
The tragedy for the business began with this fight between the two cousins over the company.
Zhou Ze'an was too capable, so much so that Zhou Yanci couldn't compete with him and could only resort to some underhanded and vicious means.
Lu Rang sat down at her table.
Shang Wu picked up a mint from the table, hesitated for a moment before eating it, and looked at him.
Do you have any milk candy?
Lu Rang narrowed his eyes: "Do you think I'm a candy vendor? Carrying candy everywhere I go?"

Shang Wu's eyes crinkled instantly, and she gently placed her hand on the back of Lu Rang's hand.
Lu Rang paused: "What can I do for you?"
"About what just happened?" Shang Wu said with a smile in her eyes.
Lu Rang gave her a deep look: "You want me to help you get close to Zhou Ze'an and guide him to deal with Zhou Yanci?"
Shang Wu nodded: "It's not convenient for me to step forward, since I don't know his attitude yet. To avoid alerting him, I need to find someone to represent me."
Lu Rang looked at her quietly: "I am your legal counsel."
His tone was soft, as if he were somewhat speechless.
Shang Wu deliberately answered irrelevantly: "Yes, I haven't had time to prepare a separate office for you yet. The branch is currently under renovation, and I will assign you one after it is completed in a couple of days. Don't worry."
Lu Rang narrowed his eyes, his tone becoming even lower: "I mean, I work as a legal advisor."
Shang Wu didn't respond, but patted him on the shoulder: "It's okay, you can take on any case at the law firm, I don't need you to do too much here."
Lu Rang could tell she was faking it, and lowered his eyes.
"You asked me to help you investigate something; this is what a detective does."
"My men helped you get close to Zhou Yanci's cousin."
"The driver was the one who picked you and your apprentice up."
"The bodyguard made me come to you in the middle of the night to prevent Zhou Yanci from taking advantage of you and ruining your reputation.
Lu Rang slapped Shang Wu's hand away and raised an eyebrow: "I'm a legal consultant who does countless jobs. Miss Shang, you're really afraid of wasting your ten times salary."
Lu Rang's tone was very calm, so much so that Shang Wu couldn't tell whether he was questioning her or teasing her.
Shang Wu thought about it carefully.
"That's true, I've used you too many times lately."
Lu Rang looked at her: "You finally have some conscience..."
Shang Wu interrupted: "But when you helped me, didn't you never refuse?"
Lu Rang was taken aback.
Shang Wu smiled, leaning back in her seat, her beautiful swan neck becoming even more eye-catching.
As an adult, she wasn't unaware of Lu Rang's thoughts.
I don't necessarily like her, but I at least have a good impression of her.
Her fingertips gently touched the back of Lu Rang's hand, seemingly unaware of how ambiguous the gesture was, and even unconsciously caressed Lu Rang's palm.

Lu Rang glanced at her, lowering his eyelids: "A honey trap?"
Feeling guilty, Shang Wu feigned composure: "Are you going to agree or not?"
Lu Rang narrowed his eyes slightly, turned his hand, pinched Shang Wu's restless fingertips, stood up and leaned down to get closer to her.
Shang Wu was caught off guard by his action and froze in her chair, the distance between them barely a hair's breadth.
The hot, humid air and breath intertwined.
Shang Wu's heart trembled slightly, and she dared not move.
She only needed to tilt her head back to kiss Lu Rang's lips.
Lu Rang neither retreated nor advanced, his gaze shifting downwards to stare at Shang Wu's lips: "You think you can get me to do things for you just by talking? That's too easy. Boss Shang, you have to give me some benefits, right?"
Shang Wu sighed softly, reached out her hands, and gently cupped Lu Rang's face.
Lu Rang froze, a clear look of confusion in his eyes.
Before he could react, Shang Wu leaned forward.

She wanted to get away.
Lu Rang gripped the back of her neck, preventing her from retreating, and then kissed the corner of her lips before straightening up.
"I asked you for something in return, so why did you kiss me?"
Shang Wu's breathing became erratic as she stared at him in astonishment: "You were staring at my mouth, wasn't that what you were implying? And if you didn't mean that, why did you kiss me back?"
Lu Rang's eyes turned dark and deep, carrying a hint of hidden emotion: "You delivered yourself to my door, so why not be friendly?"
Shang Wu fell silent, her heart suddenly racing.
She tried her best to remain calm and asked in a very sincere tone, "Then can you promise me now to help me get close to Zhou Ze'an?"
Lu Rang glanced at her calmly.
"Um."
It was just a short syllable, but it made Shang Wu breathe a deep sigh of relief.
Perhaps in Lu Rang's eyes, she was just being glib.
But she wasn't saying nice things to flatter Lu Rang.
She truly could only trust this man.
Ah Ying was just a loyal employee; the business owners and their long-time staff only knew what they were good at.
