Chapter 27: First Encounter

Chapter 27: First Encounter

As expected, Feng Jue did not show up that morning.

In the comfortable and spacious independent VIP ward, in addition to Jiang Yuan and his wife, there is also a nurse in her thirties taking care of Jiang Yuan.

Yan Ai was very satisfied that the dog man was so self-aware.

"Xiao Ai!" Jiang Yuan's eyes suddenly lit up when she saw Yan Ai appear at the door of the ward.

Seeing this, Feng Ting quickly raised his wife's bed and adjusted it to the appropriate incline, then placed a soft pillow on his wife's back so that she could lean more comfortably.

Move with great care, as if treating a rare treasure.

This scene touched Yan Ai deeply.

When her mother was sick and hospitalized, her father, like Uncle Feng, took care of her mother personally and never asked anyone else to do it.

While doing all this, Feng Ting smiled kindly at Yan Ai and said, "Xiao Ai, come in and sit down."

Yan Ai subtly suppressed the bitterness that was surging in her heart, and then walked in.

"Aunt Jiang, Uncle Feng." Yan Ai called them, then handed the bouquet of bright carnations in her hand to the nurse, asking her to put them in a vase.

She walked over to Jiang Yuan and asked with concern, "Aunt Jiang, how are you feeling today?"

Jiang Yuan smiled and said, "I feel much better. The doctor said I'll be fine after resting for a while. Don't worry."

Yan Ai took a closer look and found that his complexion was indeed much better than last night in the ICU, but still a little pale.

After Jiang Yuan finished speaking, she looked at the bouquet of flowers that the nurse was fiddling with. Her eyes lingered on the bright-colored flowers for a while, and then a warm feeling flowed through her heart.

"The flowers are beautiful, I like them very much," said Jiang Yuan.

Yan Ai followed Jiang Yuan's gaze.

She bought this bouquet of carnations at the flower shop this morning. She had given Jiang Yuan many flowers on special holidays before, but this was the first time she gave her carnations.

This move is not meant to please, but is a sincere wish for Jiang Yuan to have good health and longevity.

"When I was little, I always thought that when I grew up, I would give my mother a bouquet of the most fiery red and beautiful carnations. Now giving this bouquet of flowers to Aunt Jiang feels like my childhood dream has come true."

What Yan Ai didn’t say was that her mother passed away before she could grow up.

But Jiang Yuan could understand.

Thirteen years ago, when she first met Yan Ai in the hospital, Yan Ai was only 10 years old. She was a pretty and well-behaved little girl who was likable from a distance.

Her formal "first" meeting with Yan Ai was when Yan Ai was in the third year of junior high school. At that time, she and her husband Feng Ting donated a library and a multi-purpose hall to the middle school where Yan Ai was studying. In order to express their gratitude, the school specially organized a flower-laying event.

Unsurprisingly, Yan Ai was chosen as the student representative and went on stage to present flowers to the couple.

Jiang Yuan admitted that this was a man-made encounter and she wanted to repay the favor.

Feng Ting noticed his wife's hesitation, so he turned to the nurse who had just finished arranging the flowers and said, "Go out and rest first. I'll call you if I need you."

"Okay, sir." The nurse nodded and quickly left the room.

Hearing this noise, Yan Ai knew that the couple had something to say to her.

Or maybe Jiang Yuan had something to say to her.

After Feng Ting asked the nurse to leave, he walked to the coffee table and made a cup of tea for himself and Yan Ai.

The room was suddenly filled with the aroma of tea.

"Xiao Ai, have a cup of tea first. Drinking this in the morning is good for your health." Feng Ting said, and handed her one of the cups of tea.

"Thank you, Uncle Feng." Yan Ai took it politely.

Jiang Yuan did have something to say to Yan Ai, but she didn't know where to start. It was not until Yan Ai took a sip of the fragrant tea that Jiang Yuan finally spoke.

But the first thing she said was to apologize to Yan Ai, "Xiao Ai, I'm sorry."

Yan Ai's eyes flickered slightly, and then she put down the teacup. Her voice was light but very serious, "Aunt Jiang, you didn't do anything to offend me. You don't need to apologize to me."

After a pause, she reiterated, "You don't owe me and my dad anything. My mother's heart and other organs were donated voluntarily to those in need, so Aunt Jiang, you don't need to apologize."
