Chapter 21 Distress

During the interview, Lin Sui learned that the man's wife was bought.

"She has given birth to four children, who would have thought that she could still run away!" The man's wrinkled face was full of regret.

"Blame it on me for being too nice to her and not keeping an eye on her. Otherwise, would she have had the chance to run away?"

Lin Sui kept a smile on his face throughout the interview, but he felt really bad inside.

When it was over, the sun was about to set. Lin Sui asked the man what time the last bus was. The man touched his head with a puzzled look on his face.

"What do you mean by last bus? We only have one bus a day."

This short sentence was like a bolt of lightning to Lin Sui.

"Why don't you just stay at my house tonight?" The man looked Lin Sui up and down with the way a man looks at a woman.

"No, I've already told my husband to pick me up."

Lin Sui stood up, put on his backpack, and couldn't wait to leave this place of trouble.

Hearing that Lin Sui had a husband, the man smiled awkwardly and sent Lin Sui to the door of her house, shouting at the children in the yard.

"Boss, come back and cook! I'm starving!"

Lin Sui looked at the boy holding the baby in the yard with sympathy and sighed.

This is the bad thing about being a journalist. You see all the injustices right before your eyes, but you are powerless to do anything about it.

Lin Sui was walking alone on the small path leading to the village entrance. Smoke was rising from every household, and Lin Sui felt a little hungry.

The sun has set, and the sunset glow covers the sky, just like the green mountains and green waters, and is reflected in Lin Sui's eyes.

Lin Sui couldn't help but sigh that such a beautiful scenery was a pleasure for her, but for the children just now, it was probably just a nightmare.

She took out her cell phone, opened the taxi-hailing app, and wanted to hail a taxi, but there were no cars around.

Just when she didn't know what to do, she suddenly found someone standing behind her.

"Ah!" Lin Sui turned around and saw a man in dirty clothes tilting his head and looking at her with a silly smile.

"Shall we play a little?"

Lin Sui couldn't hear clearly, the man was speaking in dialect.

"What did you say?" Lin Sui took a step back, alert and planning his escape route.

"Shall we play a little? It's fun!"

Before Lin Sui could react, the man pounced on him.

"Ah! Get out of here!"

Lin Sui ran for her life, shouting as she ran, hoping that someone would appear and save her.

When the man saw Lin Sui running, he became even more excited and chased after him excitedly.

Lin Sui suspected that this man was the legendary fool that existed in every village. Damn, what a fate she had. If she was really raped by a fool, she might as well kill herself.

After running for a while, Lin Sui was exhausted. He hadn't eaten dinner in the first place, and now he was almost exhausted.

There were a few haystacks in front, and Lin Sui had an idea. She first took out a bottle of coffee from her bag and threw it on the road. While the fool bent down to pick up the coffee, she quickly ran behind the haystack.

The fool was in no hurry to chase her, probably because he thought she couldn't escape from his grasp. At this moment, he was unscrewing the bottle cap and sipping his coffee.

Lin Sui quickly scraped through the haystack, cleared out a space for one person, crawled in, and covered the outside with hay. She pulled out her phone, set the darkness to minimum, added Qin Chen on WeChat, and quickly wrote out her reasons.

"Save me."

Fortunately, Qin Chen passed by quickly. Lin Sui quickly moved to his position, then turned off the sound and held his breath.

After the fool took two sips of coffee, he finally remembered Lin Sui.

He ran a few steps towards the haystack, but didn't see anyone, so he circled around it again and again. Several times, Lin Sui could feel the fool standing in front of her. She was sweating profusely, covering her mouth with her hands tightly, not daring to make a sound.

The fool couldn't find her, and screamed like a madman, his voice high and rough, just like a wild bear. Lin Sui couldn't help but shed tears and her whole body was shaking.

Suddenly, the fool seemed to understand and quickly grabbed the haystack in front of Lin Sui. Lin Sui felt cold all over and watched the hay in front of him fall bit by bit.

"Haha, I found you!" The fool and the night appeared in Lin Sui's sight.

It was over, she closed her eyes in despair.

Lin Sui had accepted her fate and she no longer had the strength to run.

The fool dragged Lin Sui out of the haystack, turned over and rode on Lin Sui.

The sour smell from not taking a bath for years mixed with the smell of sweat rushed into Lin Sui's nostrils. Lin Sui vomited twice and spit it out.

The fool didn't care at all and tried hard to take off Lin Sui's pants. Lin Sui was wearing double-button jeans today, and the fool couldn't take them off. He was very annoyed at the moment and made a humming sound like an old cow.

Lin Sui sobbed and cried, and she didn't even have the strength to raise her hand to hit the fool.

Suddenly, a gust of wind blew and the fool was kicked to the ground, bending over and screaming.

"Sui Sui!" Qin Chen rushed over and lifted Lin Sui into his arms. Behind Qin Chen stood two men, each of them kicking the fool in turn.

"Fuck you! How dare you touch my brother's woman!"

The leading man had a rough voice and judging by his accent, he was a native of West City.

All of Lin Sui's grievances burst out the moment he saw Qin Chen.

She burst into tears, cursing Qin Chen while crying.

"Why did you come just now? I was so scared. If I... I would die today!"

Qin Chen didn't say anything, but just hugged Lin Sui tightly and touched Lin Sui's head hard again and again.

Lin Sui cried herself to sleep. She was so exhausted that she suddenly relaxed. Her body couldn't take it anymore and went into low-power mode.

Qin Chen held Lin Sui horizontally in his arms and walked towards the car they were driving.

The men behind him saw that the lesson was almost enough, so one of them kicked the fool again and walked away.

Only the fool was left lying on the ground screaming.

Qin Chen carefully placed Lin Sui in the back seat and took out a wet wipe to wipe the dirt off Lin Sui's face.

After the other two men got in the car, they all sighed.

"Tell me, how could my sister-in-law come to this village alone to interview people? This poor and remote place breeds unruly people! Fortunately, we are not far away from here, otherwise the consequences would be unimaginable!"

Qin Chen pursed his lips, also feeling scared.

If he hadn't been going to the nearby tourist area to check out the investment today, even if he flew here, he wouldn't have been able to save Lin Sui in time.

He was furious when he thought about her running to a place like this for an interview alone.

Didn't she marry a rich man? Why do you work harder than the average person?

Look at what she is wearing and the bag she is carrying, they are all street stall goods.

When I left him, why did I swear so confidently that I would live a good life?

So now my life has become like this?

Qin Chen remembered what Lin Sui had just said, that she would not live if she was defiled by a fool, and her heart ached.

Damn it, this woman has occupied his heart since he was 16. It's been 12 years, why can't he get rid of her?
