The old man pushed up his glasses awkwardly and nodded at Lin Sui.
"Okay, let's end the interview here."
Lin Sui left again, bewildered, her gut feeling certain she was doomed. Now that she'd realized what she'd said, she felt like shit. She'd have to find a video to learn how to speak sweetly in an interview.
As she walked out of the company's door, Lin Sui encouraged herself. She knew she'd definitely get in next time. She decided to lower her standards a bit, as her last interview had failed, and she'd eliminated all the startups. She decided to give it a try tonight. Finding a job these days was tough, so she shouldn't be too picky.
The phone rang and Qin Chen came to ask her how the interview went.
"I failed again, but I think I will succeed next time!" Lin Sui kicked the stone at his feet.
"I think so too. Let's go out for dinner tonight. I wish you success in your next interview!" Qin Chen's tone was very relaxed.
"Okay." Lin Sui had originally thought so. She could foresee that Zhou Dang would definitely come tonight. She didn't want to eat with the three of them, as it would definitely cause indigestion.
Lin Sui drove to the restaurant where he and Qin Chen had an appointment. It was a place to eat crabs. Autumn is the season for eating hairy crabs. Lin Sui hadn't eaten them for a long time, so he was really craving them.
The restaurant was too elegant. Lin Sui blamed Qin Chen for not telling her earlier. Although she was dressed formally, she still looked out of place here. Lin Sui had not been waiting in the waiting area for long when Qin Chen arrived.
Looking at Qin Chen in a suit and tie, Lin Sui became even angrier. She had dressed herself up like a decent person, but he didn't even remind her. Now when she walked beside Qin Chen, she looked like a poor relative from afar.
After sitting down, Lin Sui looked at the people eating next to her. Wow, it takes so many tools to eat a crab! It takes dozens of minutes to prepare everything. In that time, she could have eaten ten crabs!
Qin Chen saw Lin Sui's concerns, smiled and said, "Don't worry, I'm an expert at peeling crabs. I'll peel them for you and I'll make sure there's a supply."
"Really?" Lin Sui's eyes lit up.
"Just wait and see." Qin Chen imitated the waiter's tone.
Sure enough, after the crab came up, Qin Chen put on gloves and quickly started peeling it. Although Lin Sui tasted good, he still felt unsatisfied. The only way to enjoy the crab is to peel it yourself, right?
She waved her hand and said, "Forget it! No one knows me anyway, so I'll let go." Then she started to peel the crabs in her own way, using both hands and eating with relish. Soon, all six crabs on the table were gone.
So Qin Chen called for eight more.
"Crabs are cold, you should eat less." Qin Chen picked up the napkin and wiped Lin Sui's mouth.
"Then don't order. We also have crab roe noodles. You'll be full after eating some of them." Lin Sui silently calculated the cost in his mind. Eight crabs must be more expensive than a bowl of crab roe noodles.
"I think it's okay to eat eight more. I'll help you eat two, and you eat six, making ten in total." Qin Chen looked at Lin Sui lovingly.
"Is it too expensive? I feel it's a bit too luxurious."
"No, just a few crabs."
Just then, Lin Sui heard a familiar female voice.
"Lin Sui?"
Lin Sui glanced sideways. Oh my God, wasn’t the person standing two meters away from her her sister-in-law?
"It's really you." The sister-in-law narrowed her eyes in disbelief. The person next to her was probably her friend. She seemed to feel embarrassed at the moment. She walked over without making a loud noise, but roared softly.
"What are you doing here? Who is this man? Are you cheating on me?"
Lin Sui pursed her lips, not knowing which question to answer first. "I, I..."
Qin Chen looked at the woman in front of him, all adorned with jewels, and thought she was no ordinary person. He wanted to speak up to help Lin Sui, but Lin Sui just shook her head at him.
"Zhou Dang and I are getting divorced. You can go back and ask him for details." Lin Sui smiled at his sister-in-law to show the authenticity of the answer.
"Really?" Lin Sui didn't know if it was her imagination, but she could hear the overjoyed look in her sister-in-law's tone...
"Of course." Lin Sui returned to his expressionless face.
"Okay, okay, I will tell mom the good news tonight. She will be very happy!" The sister-in-law was happy and her voice became louder.
"Take your time to eat. I'll go back to my table first." The sister-in-law walked away with her head held high and chest puffed out, taking small steps.
"What is this?" Qin Chen's expression was also very interesting, as if he was watching a play.
"Zhou Dang's sister-in-law."
"It's so weird, is everyone in their family abnormal?" Qin Chen handed the new crab to Lin Sui.
Lin Sui took it and split it apart skillfully.
"You're right. I feel like if his family were to be filmed, it could beat Modern Family."
When going home, Qin Chen drove her car to take her home for Lin Sui's convenience. The car was parked downstairs in the residential complex. It was an old residential complex with no separation between people and cars, and there were parking spaces everywhere.
Qin Chen looked at Lin Sui and felt a sweet feeling in his heart. At least he would be free tomorrow. He stared at Lin Sui's profile.
"Sui Sui, I have good news for you."
“Is your company listed?”
Qin Chen was speechless, "No."
"What's the good news?" Lin Sui liked to see Qin Chen's expression. When they first met again, he was like a mannequin, always expressionless, which scared people.
"I will sign the share transfer agreement with Fang Zhiyou tomorrow, and we will break up. She is not pregnant."
"Not pregnant?" Obviously, the first sentence did not shock Lin Sui as much as the second one.
"Um."
"That's great." Lin Sui patted her chest and breathed a sigh of relief. She had originally thought that if the child really died because of her, she would at least have to make some compensation. She certainly didn't have money, but she could be a vegetarian for two years, which would be her punishment.
Now that she knew whether she was pregnant or not, her guilt was much relieved.
Even though she is not a good person, even though she always wants to live for herself, her true heart is still a little kind, she thought.
"I've taken care of my side, and now I'll take care of yours." Qin Chen came over and gently sucked Lin Sui's pink lips.
What a familiar smell. Lin Sui’s first kiss was with the person in front of him. Twelve years have passed, and they are still together.
Lin Sui hugged Qin Chen passionately, and the two kissed until they couldn't breathe.
Even so, Qin Chen's hands were still very well behaved. Lin Sui remembered that when they were dating before, he had touched her secretly not long after they kissed. Now he was like a pure boy again.
Lin Sui felt like she was about to have difficulty breathing, and suddenly——
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Suddenly, someone knocked hard on the car window.
"Someone!" Lin Sui pushed Qin Chen off her body and hid herself behind Qin Chen.
