Chunxiao still took Shuwen and Meiman shopping on the street. It is true that the further north you go, the more expensive things become.
As they were strolling around, they came to a cloth shop, where they found that the coarse cotton cloth cost 2 taels of silver per piece. If they had known earlier, they would have made money by shipping the cloth from Qingzhou. However, the shipping fee would have been quite high, and if the cloth sold slowly, it would have been difficult to make a profit.
Beggars would come to them from time to time on the road to beg for money, but Chunxiao did not give them money out of kindness, and even Shuwen was stopped by her from doing so.
"Auntie, I have a lot of copper coins on me. Look how pitiful they are."
"If you don't want to be stripped naked, then put away your kindness. Look at how many people there are on this street. There's so much to help, and your two copper coins can't save them."
Xingfu nodded in agreement, "Miss, you're right. If you give it to one of them, a group of people will immediately gather around. I've seen this happen before."
"A group?" Shuwen was so frightened by this that he looked around quickly. "They have a group of people?"
"Shuwen, let me tell you one more thing: don't gamble with human nature with your kindness unless you are absolutely sure."
There were many beggars on the street, and Chunxiao had a huge amount of money on him. For safety reasons, they returned to the inn. They chose a mid-range inn in the city, for no other reason than that if they encountered a black shop, they would be finished.
Everyone continued their journey on the second day, and finally arrived at their destination, Pengdong County, in the evening of the fourth day.
After paying the groom, they hurried to find an inn, but the inn was not very good and the price was very high. There was no other way, as this inn was in the city, so they could be sure that there would be no shady shops here.
A few people ordered some food. Although it was expensive, there were still many people eating in the inn. There were merchants nearby asking the waiter about the pawnshop. It seemed that they were either here to buy people or land.
"We'll go ask about the land tomorrow morning. The sooner we go, the better."
Everyone was tired today, so they went back to their room and rested immediately. Chun Xiao slept until midnight when she suddenly felt something was wrong around her. She opened her eyes and found a black figure sitting beside the bed. Her heart was almost scared out of her mind. She wanted to push Xingfu beside her but she didn't dare. She could only move her hand to the side little by little.
