They stood by the lake and saw many boats with lights on on the dark lake.
"The people in this county are really capable of making a fuss. They listen to opera on the water late at night. Auntie, have you ever been on a boat?"
"No, let's go and ask about the fare." She pulled Shuwen over to a boat docked on the shore. The boat was large, and there were already quite a few people on it, but she couldn't tell who was who or how old they were. Two men were standing at the bottom of the steps, probably collecting the money. She walked over and asked, "How much is the ticket?"
The man glanced at them and said, "3 taels." His voice was mechanical and cold.
"This is too expensive." Shuwen couldn't help but sigh.
"This is already the cheapest. Do you two want to go up? If not, please don't block other people's way."
Chunxiao waved her hand to indicate that she would not go up.
I don’t know who called me a poor bastard!
She pulled Shuwen aside and said, "What's so great about it? It's just an opera. We can hear it right here on the shore." She looked at Shuwen awkwardly and said, "Let's go to a teahouse to listen to the opera tomorrow. It doesn't matter where we listen to it."
There were more than just the two of them by the lake. There were quite a few idle people, including men and women traveling, but they were relatively few.
"Auntie, look, their clothes are just right."
Chunxiao followed his gaze and saw a boat approaching. The lights on the boat were bright and many men and women got off, some of them behaving intimately.
"When I have money in the future, I will buy you beautiful clothes like that, so you can wear them like a fairy."
Chunxiao closed her eyes, there was no need to do that. She quickly said "Ouch" and pulled Shuwen's attention back.
"What's wrong, aunt?" Shuwen hurried to his side.
"The wind by the river is quite strong. It gives me a headache. Let's go somewhere else." If her father knew that she brought him to see the flower boat, he would probably be furious.
"Then let's go and not stay by the river anymore." After saying that, he looked back with some reluctance.
This little pervert, he likes looking at beautiful women at such a young age, Chun Xiao complained in his heart and could not help but quicken his pace.
The two of them strolled casually on the street. Shuwen was young after all, and everything he saw was new to him. He also brought some money with him when he went out, and Chunxiao stopped him several times when he wanted to buy something.
"That jade ring is fake!" Real jade is not that cheap.
"The teacup looks nice, but it's hard to carry around because it doesn't even have a decent package."
"You're not going to the battlefield to see what weapons you're looking at."
Finally, Shuwen held up a rattle and looked at Chunxiao pitifully, "You can buy this and give it to Xiaobao to play with in the future."
Chunxiao nodded.
He happily paid 20 coins and put the rattle on his waist.
