"Why didn't you tell me earlier? I've been worried for so long." Zhou pinched her unhappily.
Chun Xiao didn't know whether to laugh or cry, "How would I know you've been thinking about this?"
"Anyway, it's definitely next year's problem, so there's no need to worry about it this year. We can sign an agreement with them. If they want to use our technology, they can sell the cotton they grow to us at the normal purchase price. We'll help them sell it, and they'll be so happy."
"That's a good idea." Tian looked at Dahe with appreciation. "Mother, I now realize that our second brother has quite a business acumen."
"His brain is sometimes sharp and sometimes not."
"It's time to pick up the tools ordered by the eldest daughter-in-law tomorrow." Yan Bingfa looked at Tian.
"Yes, last time we said it would be around the 15th. You can pick it up tomorrow."
"I've already made an appointment with Dongsheng. He can just pick it up tomorrow." Chunxiao warmed her hands over the stove. "Why do I feel like it's getting colder these past two days? I wonder if it's snowing again like last year?"
"The village boss said it would be sunny in a few days."
"Okay, you guys sit down, we're going to cook." Zhou called Tian and Shufeng to go to the kitchen. When Zhang saw them leave, she got up and followed them. Chunxiao was afraid that she would fall, so she got up and went to help her. However, after they walked a few steps, Zhang suddenly stopped moving.
"Second sister-in-law, why aren't you moving? Come on!"
Zhang turned around and looked at her with a somewhat indescribable expression, "Little sister, I, I'm afraid I'm going to give birth."
"Ah!" Chun Xiao was startled. "Stand still, don't move, or I'll call someone." She ran into the kitchen and said, "Mom, mom, my second sister-in-law said she's about to give birth. What should I do? What should I do?"
Zhou and the others became nervous when they heard this, "Is the day here? Is it almost time? Oh no, Mrs. Zhang hasn't been invited yet." She quickly ran to the main room and asked Dashan to drive the ox cart to Hujia Village to invite Mrs. Zhang over, even if she had to drag her over.
Only then did Daha realize that his wife was about to give birth.
Zhang stood there not daring to move. She could feel that liquid had wet her pants.
"Dahe, hurry up and help your father lift your wife onto the ox cart and send her home to lie down. We will go with you."
It was originally cooking time, but no one had time to eat. They all followed the ox cart to Zhang's house. Chunxiao asked Shufeng to go back and call Xingfu and Meiman over.
When they arrived at Dahe's house, everyone carried Zhang to the bed. Zhou asked Dahe to light the stove and asked Tian to quickly light the stove and boil water. She then found the delivery bag that she had helped prepare before, including scissors and clothes.
Chunxiao was unable to help, "Mother, when will the old woman come?"
"It should take about an hour to go back and forth. How can she give birth now? If it was two days later, the maid would have been sent home and the due date wouldn't have come yet. But luckily, your sister-in-law isn't having her first child, so the birth shouldn't be difficult. She might have given birth before the maid came."
Soon Xingfu and Meiman arrived. When they found out that the woman of the host family was about to give birth, they were also panicked. They thought Chunxiao asked them to deliver the baby, but they had no experience in delivering babies. They were relieved to know that it was not Chunxiao. Chunxiao asked Xingfu to take over Tian's job of boiling water, and Meiman was responsible for cooking. They couldn't take care of so many things at the moment, and she could use whatever ingredients she could find in the kitchen.
Yan Bingfa, Shuwen and three children sat at the table in the main hall. Shuduo also looked anxious, and Yan Qi was sensible and comforted her.
Half an hour passed, and the maid still hadn't arrived. Zhang had already started calling out, and Zhou was extremely anxious. Although she had seen many births, she didn't know how to deliver a baby. The previous births had all gone smoothly, and the babies were born as soon as the maid arrived. Now that the maid wasn't here, she had no backbone.
Tian and Chunxiao sat down beside Zhang's bed and offered comfort, telling her not to be afraid, to relax, and not to push until the maid arrived. Chunxiao kept wiping the sweat from her forehead. The stove in the room was already lit, and Chunxiao opened a nearby window.
Yan Dahe was pacing in the bedroom, looking outside from time to time to see why the maid hadn't arrived yet. Hearing Zhang's calls, his heart started to tremble.
Zhou was annoyed by his pacing and kicked him out of the room. "It's very inconvenient for a man to have a woman give birth. Go stay with your father and the others."
Zhang tried to endure the pain and not scream, but the pain was unbearable. Later, her screams became louder and louder. Yan Bingfa asked Shuwen to take the children out to play and not stay at home for the time being, saying that he would notify them when the baby was born.
Pan'er refused to leave, so Shuwen carried her away. She started crying before she even left the house.
After more than half an hour, Yan Dashan finally returned with a woman in an oxcart. When the woman got off the cart, she couldn't stand steadily and was obviously shaken. She calmed down a little and stood up. "Didn't you say it would be at the end of the month? How come it's happening today? Hurry up, hurry up, which room is it in? Take me there quickly."
Yan Dashan quickly sent her in.
Seeing the midwife finally breathe a sigh of relief, Zhou said, "Aunt Zhang, please come and see how my wife is doing. She's been crying out for a long time. I've got hot water and everything ready. Please come and see." Zhou glanced at Chunxiao and said, "You've never given birth before. Please get out now."
Chunxiao refused, "I'll help you."
Zhou pushed her out of the door and said, "Your sister-in-law wants you to help with something." Then she closed the door with a bang.
She stood there and saw Yan Dahe standing at the door, listening to the movement inside, and she felt balanced instantly.
"Second brother, you are the father of the child, why can't you be in there?" Chunxiao asked deliberately. She had known for a long time that men were not allowed to enter the delivery room.
