"No discussion."
Huang Minghe was depressed. He had bought some braised meat and tried to sell it in a restaurant these days. The response was very good and everyone said it was delicious. If he could have bought the recipe directly and done exclusive business, he would have had the opportunity to make a lot of money, but the other party didn't sell the recipe.
"Miss Yan, you haven't been in business for long, so you probably don't know how treacherous the business world is. Over time, you'll encounter all sorts of things, from diarrhea and general discomfort to even death. The problem isn't with this thing; it's simply because this business is so easy to come by that it's provoked others. Our restaurant has experienced this kind of thing before, and I'm not trying to scare you, I'm just giving you a heads up."
"Thank you, Mr. Huang. I believe everything you said."
"Our Juxian Restaurant has become the largest restaurant in Sanye Town today thanks to some background, so you should consider it, otherwise your business will be gone in a few days."
His words were somewhat threatening, but Chunxiao wasn't afraid. She glanced at the tall shopkeeper across from her and smiled. "Shopkeeper Huang, please don't scare me. I'm just a country woman with no experience. You just want to do exclusive business, right? Although I can't sell you the recipe, it's the same as if I only supply you in Sanye Town, provided that the quantity you sell is not less than what we sell every day."
Huang Minghe heard this and realized that it was indeed the case. He suddenly became alert and asked, "Miss Yan, what do you mean? Please explain in detail."
"The meaning is simple. If you can afford the quantity and give a reasonable price, this exclusive business in Sanye Town will be yours."
The shopkeeper laughed as soon as he heard this. "I think Miss Yan is not an ordinary country woman. She is very calculating. To be honest, besides this Sanye Town, I also own a restaurant in the neighboring Feng Town. If you want to buy it, I want exclusive ownership of both places."
"What quantity does Mr. Huang want?"
"How much do you sell every day?" he asked.
"We consume about 100 kilograms of meat a day. We have several types of meat, and they are all the same price. The cost of the meat is not high, but the marinade is too expensive."
"Then I need to weigh about 120 kilograms and 200 eggs every day. I can't let the customers eat too much on either side. The best effect is to leave a little less."
As expected of a businessman, he knows hunger marketing. "Shopkeeper Huang is worthy of being a restaurant owner. He is good at doing business. Only when customers think about him will they come back often."
"That's exactly the reason. The price is still based on your selling price. I won't talk about it anymore."
Chunxiao had originally considered raising his price; the price would naturally double once it reached the restaurant, but she decided against it. The shopkeeper, surnamed Huang, was right. A successful deal would only create more trouble later. Selling the goods to the restaurant would benefit everyone. If she still wanted to sell, she could just go to the county town. So, the two sides agreed, and the shopkeeper signed the deed in his presence.
The main terms were the quantity and price of the goods, as well as the delivery time, and the exclusive supply to Sanye Town and Feng Town. The second was the compensation clause, which stipulated that the seller could not stop supplying goods without cause, and the buyer could not refuse to accept goods without reason unless there were quality issues. Violations of this clause would incur a fine of 500 taels of silver, and the contract would be terminated. Chunxiao requested an additional clause stating that if a supply suspension occurred due to force majeure, the seller would not be deemed in breach of contract.
Shopkeeper Huang and Manager Zheng were both a little confused and asked her what force majeure specifically meant. Without a detailed guideline, he would not agree with this.
Chunxiao gave an example, such as the snow that blocked the roads, the hot weather that made it impossible to store food, natural disasters that made it impossible to buy raw materials, or man-made disasters, such as epidemics that made it impossible to supply.
Huang Minghe was also reasonable. He felt that it was true, so he noted these case studies on the side for guidance, and also noted one for discussion.
The last part is the actual negotiation terms. If either party wants to terminate the contract, they must inform the other party at least three days in advance and finally negotiate to terminate the contract.
The contract was made in duplicate. Huang Minghe wrote both of their names on it and both parties pressed their fingerprints. Chunxiao took the deed and put it away carefully.
"Boss Huang, happy cooperation in the future."
"It's a pleasure to cooperate with you. When will you start supplying goods?"
Chun Xiao thought for a moment and said, "Let's do it the day after tomorrow. We still have to go back and make some preparations."
"Okay, the day after tomorrow then." Manager Zheng, who was following behind him, was also happy. No matter what, the deal was finally done, and at least he had contributed to it. "Now that it's settled, I'll take you back, Miss Chunxiao."
"You're welcome. It's not far and I can go there myself. Please go ahead and take care of me in the future."
"Sure, sure."
Manager Zheng sent her to the door. Chunxiao looked back at the restaurant lobby. It was great that a legitimate business deal was done.
Today's business was a great success. In the future, Tian and his family wouldn't have to set up the stall every day. Only one person would be needed to deliver the goods every day. In the spring, everyone in the family would be busy working in the fields. She could then hand over the braised meat work to others so that she would have time to work in the fields.
As she walked, she reached the intersection. Tian and Zhang saw her coming back and hurried to greet her, "Little sister, how did the talk go?"
Chun Xiao smiled brightly at the two of them, "It's done, that's a good thing. I'll tell you about it when we get back."
When the two heard that it was good news, they felt relieved. If Chunxiao said it was a good thing, then it must be good.
At noon, they had sold out their goods, so the four of them packed up their backpacks and waited for Yan Dashan and Yan Dahe. Fortunately, they arrived soon. The snow had just melted in the past two days, so they had sold out all the charcoal for the day.
