Zhou Yanci stared intently at Chen Mian, her eyes filled with barely suppressed vigilance and suspicion.
"What are you doing here? Who told you to come?! What are those bodyguards watching you doing?!"
Chenmian stared intently at him, her eyes sharp.
At this moment, she was filled with regret. When she saw Zhou Yanci's company thriving, she thought that if she returned to Zhou Yanci's side, she could become the president's wife and enjoy wealth and luxury at her fingertips.
Little did she know that there are no free lunches in this world.
She lacked Shang Wu's work skills, and after several instances of jealousy and rivalry, Zhou Yanci's interest in her clearly diminished.
Even if she could keep Zhou Yanci's attention by relying on her child, it wouldn't last long.
She should have realized long ago that winning a man's heart requires more than just old friendships and beauty; it also requires value in every aspect.
Just as Shang Wu said, the ability to be useful is the foundation for standing up in front of Zhou Yanci.
Unfortunately, everyone who has any value to Zhou Yanci suffers unimaginable harm after being used by him.
Chenmian slowly clenched her fists, walked up to Zhou Yanci, and told herself that as long as she helped Shang Wu accomplish this, she would be free.
Even if you're disfigured, at least you can save your life.
She stared intently at Zhou Yanci.
"Even if I abandoned you and left you back then, when I was with you, you still enjoyed my youth, my body and my beauty. Didn't you not lose out?"
Zhou paused, speaking briefly.
"Even though I've betrayed you, it's far from warranting disfigurement! Don't you feel disgusted by what you're doing to me?"
Zhou Yanci narrowed her eyes, remaining completely unmoved: "What exactly do you want to say? You betrayed me, and you still dare to come here openly and question me? Aren't you ridiculous?"
Chenmian smiled and nodded: "Yes, I really am ridiculous, because I misjudged people and actually came back to the country to find a scumbag like you again!"
She gave a cold laugh and pulled up a chair to sit in front of Zhou Yanci.
"Enough with the small talk, let's discuss a deal."
Zhou Yanci scoffed, looking at her as if she were a piece of trash that could be easily discarded.
"You think you're qualified to talk to me about a deal?"
“Yes, because of me.” Chen Mian raised an eyebrow. “Because I know many of your secrets, and because of these secrets, you would never dare to let Shang Wu know!”
Zhou Yanci's expression instantly became less relaxed.
He gritted his teeth and stared intently at Chenmian: "What exactly do you mean by that? Explain yourself."
Shenmian stared at him coldly and said, word by word, "You sent people to poison Shang Wu's father, causing him to suffer from multiple health problems. The medical staff and servants you specifically sent were all people who were indirectly monitoring him! You certainly don't want Shang Wu to know about this, do you?"
The sound was transmitted to Shang Wu via mobile phone call.
She gripped her phone tightly, staring silently at the call screen.
Zhou Yanci remained silent for a few seconds before letting out a cold laugh of disbelief.
"Now that things have come to this, you actually think of using this to threaten me?"
"So what?" Chenmian laughed, waving her phone in her hand.
“I’m recording right now. I can easily extract these recordings and tell Shang Wu. Don’t think that Shang Wu doesn’t care. She is the most filial and family-oriented person. You should know that better than anyone else, right?”
She asked, "The shady things you did to her, how you poisoned the merchants back then—if I told Shang Wu, can you imagine what the consequences would be?"
"You dare!" Zhou Yanci's voice suddenly rose eight octaves as he stared intently at Chen Mian, his eyes filled with murderous intent and fear.
He swallowed hard: "If you dare tell Chenmian, you're finished! I'll make sure you never leave this room!"
Chenmian remained expressionless, her expression terrifying: "Of course I believe you, but wouldn't the best course of action be to give me some money, let me leave here, and completely silence me? Also, I want to ask you for something."
Zhou Yanci stared intently at her: "Why do you think I'll listen to you and let you blackmail me? You're acting crazy right now, and nothing you say is credible."
Seeing that he quickly found a point to counterattack, Chenmian remained calm and composed.
"Given that Shang Wu's father's health is indeed as I said, he is deficient in certain substances, if Shang Wu takes her father for a checkup, she will know the whole truth."
Zhou Yanci fell silent after hearing this.
Chenmian felt somewhat uncertain.
She swallowed hard, unconsciously clenching her fists: "My request is very simple. Give me some money. I know your car is under investigation and you urgently need to sell it. As long as you sell it directly and make sure the investigators can't find it, this money will fall into your hands. Give me ten million. I don't want much."
"Ten million isn't enough?" Zhou Yanci clenched her fists, deeply regretting not eliminating the dormant state yesterday, which allowed her to have the opportunity to escape and spread rumors.
He stared intently at Chen Mian, knowing that there was nothing more he could do.
There is no other choice but to appease Chen Mian first and then find a way to deal with her.

Chenmian's eyes flickered: "I want to get my hands on that thing you used to poison Shang Wu's father."
"What do you need this for!" Zhou Yanci's tone suddenly turned cold and wary, full of suspicion.
Chenmian scoffed, "I'm not using it on you, why do you care so much? Anyway, I want it. If you don't give it to me, I'll have no choice but to tell Shang Wu what you did!"
