Chapter 104 They said she wasn't good enough for Lu Rang

Shang Wu said in a calm tone, "If you keep talking so annoyingly, then I really will fall in love with Lu Rang."

She turned and left as Zhou Yanci stared in slight surprise.

When Shang Wu got downstairs, she saw a figure waiting by her car.

She narrowed her eyes and walked over.

"Get in the car and we'll talk."

A man of about fifty years old crawled in and handed over a packet of medicine powder with trembling hands.

"Mr. Zhou's bodyguard gave it to me, instructing me to put it in your father's food, and to increase the dosage."

Shang Wu glanced at the powder, already used to Zhou Yanci's insidious methods.

However, Zhou Yanci never dreamed that apart from a few reliable bodyguards, everyone else around him would turn against him.

A CEO who controls the company and its shares, and a down-on-his-luck, incompetent man who can only lie in the hospital and harm others—even a fool would know which to choose.

Shang Wu's gaze was icy as she took the medicine.

"Just tell Zhou Yanci that you have taken care of things."

The man nodded repeatedly, got out of the car, and hurriedly left.

Shang Wu leaned against the driver's seat, looking at the dazzling flow of cars on the road, and suddenly felt very tired and exhausted.

She has already spent too much time and energy dealing with Zhou Yanci.

He's been sustained until now solely by a burning hatred.

The evidence in the merchant case is almost complete, and all that's left is for the last participant to confess and provide details of the case.

She should put her plan into action.

Shang Wu opened the app on her phone that recorded dates, and after some searching, she reluctantly picked out three days from now.

That day marked the 1200th day since she and Zhou Yanci got engaged.

There's no celebratory significance to it, but it's barely a round number.

Why not arrange a stage performance exclusively for Zhou Yanci?

He so thoroughly enjoyed all the success and fame he had achieved over the past three years.

All things considered, three days should be enough for the Inspectorate to get the last person to talk.

Shang Wu curled her fingers and picked up her phone to make a call.

"Yes, Mr. Wang, could we please use your venue for an event? The bigger the better, like a wedding venue."

"Okay, thank you. I'll transfer the money to you later."

Shang Wu hung up the phone and drove back.

Halfway there, a photo was sent to her phone.

Tang Shirley: [Is this your lawyer, Lu?]

Shang Wu parked the car on the side of the road and took a look at his phone.

It was Lu Rang, and he was talking to several men in suits on the second floor of the bar.

He was holding a glass of wine in his hand.

A glass of wine?

Shang Wu confirmed that she had not misread the words and replied to Tang Xueli.

Did he drink alcohol just now?

Tang Shirley: [What kind of question is that? If you come to a bar, what will you drink if not alcohol? Juice? You're not a little kid.]

Shang Wu: [Did you see him drink it with your own eyes?]

Tang Xueli: [I just looked up and I definitely saw it, what's wrong?]

Shang Wu gripped her phone tightly: [Location sent.]

Soon, Tang Xueli gave her the location.

Shang Wu stepped on the gas and headed straight for the bar.

She had no idea what unnecessary social engagement Lu Rang was attending.

But he absolutely cannot drink alcohol.

Shang Wu's leg pain intensified, but she didn't pay much attention to it. She drove to the parking space in front of the bar, grabbed her bag and phone, and hurried inside.

As soon as she arrived, Tang Xueli, who was guarding the door, sat at the bar and waved, smiling brightly.

Shang Wu didn't have time to talk to her much. After greeting her, she looked up and found that Lu Rang was still talking to those people.

Furthermore, the amount of wine in his glass appeared to have decreased.

Shang Wu's breath hitched. Without thinking, she grabbed the railing and climbed up.

She had already come within two steps of Lu Rang, intending to pat him on the shoulder, when she suddenly heard someone next to Lu Rang speak.

"Lu Rang, are you really planning to get married?"

Shang Wu paused for a moment.

Lu Rang, with his back to her, said indifferently, "Don't pry into my affairs."

His voice sounded fine, with no signs of alcohol allergy whatsoever.

Shang Wu narrowed her eyes and noticed that the tray next to her contained alcohol-free sparkling water.

She breathed a slight sigh of relief, then heard the man in the dark blue suit laugh.

"As your friend, I can't even ask when your wedding is coming up? What kind of girl could make you so infatuated?"

The other person laughed: "Anyway, it can't be your current client, that merchant. They're not a good match for you."

Shang Wu's eyes darkened slightly as she subconsciously looked at Lu Rang's back.

Lu Rang took a sip of wine unhurriedly, his tone casual yet chillingly sharp.

"You have no right to talk about her."

Shang Wu felt a pang of sadness.

She didn't go over, but went downstairs and sat down opposite Tang Xueli. "Why are you drinking here alone?"

Tang Shirley ate a nut as a snack with her drinks and pointed at the figures dancing on the dance floor.

"I came with a friend. She broke up with her boyfriend and is acting crazy there."

Shang Wu sighed deeply and slumped onto the bar.

"I might be going crazy too."

Tang Shirley leaned closer: "You and Zhou..."

"Don't mention him."

Shang Wu immediately interrupted, not wanting to hear that disgusting name.

She pursed her lips and said softly, "When my family was so successful, everyone said that there was no one in the entire city who could match me."

The bartender came over and handed Shang Wu a drink.

Shang Wu pushed it away: "Change to something stronger."

She continued, "Now when they mention me, they only think of the business case, and that when I had nothing, I had to rely on men to stay in this industry, but that's clearly not the case."

Tang Shirley rested her chin on her hand and looked at her: "You now have Chengzhou, your own career, and top-notch beauty and figure. Why would you feel a sense of loss because of this?"
