Shang Wu bowed slightly in acknowledgment, and just as she finished speaking, the rooftop door was pushed open.
Several police officers came in and scanned everyone who was too shocked to speak.
They looked solemn and scanned their surroundings, but Zhou Yanci was nowhere to be seen.
"Miss Shang, where is she?"
Shang Wu composed himself, his tone revealing his disappointment: "I failed to keep an eye on him, and he escaped. I beg you all."
Without the slightest hesitation, the lead officer spoke into his shoulder-mounted walkie-talkie: "The target has escaped. Immediately block off all exits from the city and proceed with the arrest!"
After saying that, the police officer nodded slightly to Shang Wu: "Don't worry, he can't escape. We will catch him no matter where he goes."
Shang Wu nodded: "Thank you, officer."
The group came and went in a hurry. After they left, a sharp alarm sounded downstairs, almost piercing the sky.
The guests on the rooftop looked at each other, some still in shock.
The sheer volume of information, the earth-shattering truth, and the several solemn and stern police officers all terrified them.
Shang Wu slowly walked off the stage and saw that everyone was dressed in formal attire.
"I'm sorry to have made you all prepare for nothing today. I gathered everyone here just to expose all of Zhou Yanci's conspiracies, to let everyone see his true colors, and to clear my parents', family's, and company's name."
"Unfortunately, he has now fled to avoid punishment and cannot come to the scene."
Everyone seemed to wake from a dream and rushed forward to comfort them.
Tang Xueli rushed out of the crowd, hugged Shang Wu tightly, and burst into tears regardless of the occasion.
"How come you're living such a miserable life! Why don't you ever tell me!"
Shang Wu smiled and patted her back to comfort her, responding to everyone's concern, but her mind had already wandered far away.
She will find Zhou Yanci.
She will drag him back to hell with her own hands.
