Chapter 121: Here to Support Her

Inside the interrogation room, Shang Wu calmly took her seat.

Before I could even warm up the seat, a barrage of questions came crashing down on me.

"Why were your bodyguards in that village, guarding Zhou Yanci and letting Chenmian torture him?"

"Did you orchestrate all of this by instigating Sleep? She has a mental illness, and you're manipulating her to target Zhou Yanci so you can escape criminal responsibility?"

Shang Wu lowered her eyes and said calmly, "I did not control Chenmian. I sent someone to that place. Chenmian borrowed it. I don't know what she wants to do."

"Are you really unaware? Didn't your bodyguards tip you off? Your people all know about you and Zhou Yanci." The officer narrowed his eyes, expressing his suspicion.

Another officer coughed twice and softened his tone: "Ms. Shang, I know what happened to your Shang family is very sad and pitiful, but you can't order someone to beat him to a pulp without your consent."

"In this way, if you admit to this, you'll be detained for a few months. This will also help explain things to the Zhou family. The Zhou family doesn't agree to a settlement. If they take it to court, you won't just be going to jail for a few months."

Shang Wu pursed her lips and looked up at them.

She knew that these police officers were doing it for her own good.

The facts are clear: it's really unreasonable for her bodyguards to be there guarding Zhou Yanci.

The best course of action now is to admit our mistake.

But she couldn't do that.

The things Zhou Yanci did to her and the merchants deserved to die a thousand times over.

She couldn't confess on her own initiative and even asked the Zhou family for their understanding.

Shang Wu took a deep breath and looked up: "I'm going to hire a lawyer and let the Zhou family sue us, sue us to the bitter end."

After he finished speaking, the two police officers looked helpless.

Before they could say anything, a figure suddenly rushed in from outside the door.

"Shang Wu! You had Chen Mian beat my son to a pulp, do you think I'll let you get away with this? You wish! I'll get you sentenced to eighteen or nineteen years in prison and ruin your future!"

Zhou's mother rushed to the interrogation room and glared at Shang Wu through the glass, her eyes wide with fury.

That look in his eyes, that fierce intensity, made him seem like he wanted to devour Shang Wusheng alive.

Shang Wu curled her lips, rested her chin on her hand, and smiled mockingly: "I understand that Madam Zhou loves her son dearly, but no matter how much you make a fuss, it won't change the fact that Zhou Yanci has become crippled."

She blinked casually, her voice soft: "Maybe... he won't even survive six months. You know, prisons are a mixed bag of people, tsk..."

Shang Wu gave a half-smile.

Seeing the smile that didn't reach her eyes, Zhou's mother instantly understood everything.

She stepped back in astonishment, a look of shock flashing in her eyes: "You, you're going to have someone take care of him in prison?"

"What are you talking about? Officers, please don't misunderstand. No matter how long my reach is, it can't extend into the prison."

Shang Wu explained in a very serious manner.

However, Zhou's mother was pale and stared intently at Shang Wu, already understanding everything.

She was determined to target Zhou Yanci.

Shang Wu has always been like this; he doesn't talk nonsense.

She definitely had that in mind!

Zhou's mother was swaying precariously.

She understood Shang Wu's threat.

Anyone who dares to target her will definitely have a hard time in prison.

But……

Shang Wu did such a thing; she felt sorry for her son, and she hated him!

How could she just stand by and watch Shang Wu run rampant without avenging her son?

Zhou's mother started to have a headache and stood frozen in place, at a loss.

The officer waved his hand: "Alright, we will handle this matter fairly and justly. You can go now!"

Two staff members came in and took Zhou's mother away.

After everyone left, the police officer looked at Shang Wu again, his dignified and solemn gaze carrying a natural sense of oppression.

"Ms. Shang, we'll ask you one last time, do you really not plead guilty?"

Shang Wu curled her red lips and shook her head: "I don't admit it. I'm waiting for my lawyer."

The officer stood up and gave her a deep look.

"Okay, then..."

Before he could finish speaking, a staff member rushed in and whispered a few words to them.

The two men's expressions changed slightly. They looked at Shang Wu with great surprise before turning and leaving.

Unaware of the situation, Shang Wu could only wait quietly.

The interrogation room was extremely quiet.

Her back ached from sitting, so she looked up at the security camera above and then listlessly looked around.

A long time passed.

About an hour later, a staff member rushed in, opened the glass door, and turned to the side.

"Miss Shang, you may leave now."

Shang Wu got up, straightened the wrinkles in her clothes, and walked over.

"Are you just supposed to go home and wait for me to submit evidence and interrogation records, and then be summoned by the court to fight a lawsuit?"

After saying that, the staff member left without saying anything.

Shang Wu looked up in confusion at the person walking ahead, then stopped abruptly.

A man was standing two meters away.

He was wearing the black trench coat that Shang Wu was familiar with; his eyebrows and eyes were handsome and captivating, and his pupils were deep and unfathomable.

“Lu Rang…”

Shang Wu's voice trembled slightly as she quickly walked over.

Fearing she might cause a disturbance, the police officer beside her quickly reminded her, "Ms. Shang, let me introduce you, this is Yu..."

"You've finally come to find me!"

Shang Wu brushed past the people next to her, and under several gazes, she hugged Lu Rang tightly.

The group of people were stunned.

Lu Rang smiled faintly, then pulled Shang Wu into his arms, silently declaring their relationship with a protective and intimate gesture.

He nodded slightly to the group: "Can we go now?"

The group remained in a daze, and nodded subconsciously upon hearing this.

Lu Rang led Shang Wu away.

They had just stepped out the door when they bumped into Zhou's mother.
