Shang Wu wanted her mother to know how hard Lu Rang had worked all these years, and that it was entirely worth it for her to let go of her resentment and accept him.
Lu Rang nodded slightly.
"Okay, I'll go with you."
"no."
Shang Wu snapped out of her daze and stopped him.
"It's better if we don't appear together in public anymore. After all, I just officially announced our breakup, and it's not convenient to reveal your identity as a member of the Yu family. If my mother finds out that I went to the auction with you to buy this necklace, she might not accept it."
Upon hearing this, Lu Rang's face darkened for a moment: "Then what should I do if I want to go with them?"
"Go secretly, don't let anyone see you," Shang Wu coaxed with a smile.
"OK?"
Hearing the persuasive tone in her voice, Lu Rang's throat tightened.
Before the business case was resolved, he couldn't be in the light of day; even after the business case was over, he still couldn't be in the light of day.
He's perfect for being a secret lover, isn't he?
Lu Rang pinched Shang Wu's earlobe and whispered, "You're unhappy, so coax me."
Shang Wu then leaned over and kissed his lips.
Lu Rang's eyes were bright, and his fingers gently twirled her hair. His eyes, which were usually calm, were now filled with her.
When Shang Wu thought back to their first meeting, Lu Rang seemed to only have the word "trouble" in his eyes when he looked at her, and she couldn't help but laugh when she kissed him.
He sprayed saliva all over Lu Rang's face.
Lu Rang was helpless.
Shang Wu quickly used a tissue to wipe his face: "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I was just remembering when we first met..."
The more she talked, the more she wanted to laugh, and she leaned into Lu Rang's arms, laughing until the wound in her heart started to ache again.
Lu Rang pulled her back and wiped away the tears of laughter from the corners of her eyes.
"Okay, don't touch the wound. I'll go buy you the clothes you'll wear to the auction."
Shang Wu tugged at his sleeve, looked up and said, "Wait, do you know what size I wear?"
Lu Rang's gaze swept over her from head to toe, and he raised an eyebrow: "What about you do I not know?"
Shang Wu's cheeks flushed. She watched him leave, then leaned back on the sofa with her eyes closed, suddenly feeling something indescribable.
Facing the impending difficulties alongside Lu Rang, she felt no fear, but rather an anticipation of confronting the challenge head-on.
Perhaps it's because she's been working under high pressure for the past three years, constantly challenging the instincts she's developed.
When she was a carefree heiress, she could give up anything without hesitation, and her parents indulged her.
But now three years have passed, and she has become more and more independent, no longer relying on her family, and her family is less and less indulgent towards her.
Even who she's with isn't something she can choose.
Just then, a phone call came in.
"Awu, I saw your name on the auction invitation list. Su Tingting is coming today too. She even said in the group chat that if you dare to come tonight, you'll become a laughing stock. Maybe you should avoid it?"
A hint of annoyance flashed across Shang Wu's eyes as she finally remembered that Su Tingting hadn't been dealt with yet.
She sneered, "I'll be there tonight. Whatever surprises she has in store for me, I'll accept them all."
Tang Shirley sighed.
"You'd better take it easy. A lot of celebrities will be attending this auction today. I heard they even added more than twenty seats."
Upon hearing this, Shang Wu asked curiously, "What, are there any rare treasures at this auction?"
Tang Xueli smiled with excitement and anticipation.
"It's not that there are rare treasures, it's the Yu family! I heard that the young master of the Yu family will be coming tonight."
