Chapter 137 Witnessing Them Kissing

The group chat went silent the moment a message was sent.

Shang Wu turned off her phone and looked up, meeting Lu Rang's ambiguous smile.

She blinked and cupped Lu Rang's face in her hands.

"How's your accounting going? Have you started working on it?"

Lu Rang paused slightly.

"Those accounting matters are easy to resolve. The most troublesome issue is the labor corps at Yu Family Wharf, but there's no rush," Lu Rang said calmly.

"A strike is the most serious thing, especially when it involves import and export goods. We can't be careless. If there's nothing else, I'll go and take a look over there for you."

Shang Wu's tone became serious, "Don't rush to resolve the Yu family's matter."

Upon hearing this, Lu Rang paused for a moment.

Shang Wu took out her phone and showed him the appointment time with the psychologist.

Lu Rang's eyes darkened slightly as he took her hand.

“I don’t necessarily need the intervention of a psychologist. That place just provides me with a place to relieve stress. I still need to get through this on my own, but…”

He pursed his lips: "Sometimes the illness is no longer psychological; it's very possible that it will never be cured."

This is what the experts told him.

He will most likely never be able to completely eliminate the possibility of developing the disease due to the psychological trauma he suffered during his adolescence.

Perhaps he suffered some kind of blow or shock, which plunged him into chaos.

This is a natural bodily reaction.

Shang Wu gently advised, "When you feel stressed or your mental state is not good, you must see a doctor in time. Regardless of whether they can help you get out of the shadow, you said that staying with them is a way to relieve stress."

“No.” Lu Rang looked intently at her. “I feel most at ease when I’m by your side, and I’m least likely to have an attack.”

Shang Wu smiled, pulled him into her arms, and gently patted his chest.

"I will be with you every day from now on."

Lu Rang's gaze deepened, and he pinched her chin, about to kiss her again, when the car stopped.

Shang Wu then tugged at Lu Rang's sleeve and pulled him out of the car with her.

As soon as the two arrived at the apartment entrance, they saw a person standing in front of the door.

Shang Wu paused, somewhat surprised to see Shang Yun Shen.

"Brother, what brings you here so late at night?"

Feeling guilty, she instinctively turned to the side, shielding Lu Rang behind her, forgetting that she was a head shorter than him and couldn't hide him no matter what she did.

Shang Yun Shen stood on the steps, glanced at Lu Rang, and was no longer surprised by his presence here.

Lu Rang was unaware that Shang Yun Shen was well aware that he and Shang Wu had not broken up. He took a step forward, completely blocking Shang Wu from view.

Lu Rang offered a proactive explanation: "It was all my doing that seduced Shang Wu."

As soon as he finished speaking, Shang Yun Shen almost lost his composure and gave Shang Wu a wink, as if to say, "He's probably not an idiot."

Shang Wu quickly tugged at Lu Rang's arm.

“My brother knows everything, I didn’t hide anything from him.”

Lu Rang loosened his grip, nodded slightly to Shang Yun Shen, and said, "Brother Yun Shen."

Shang Yun Shen nodded politely and said gently, "It's so late. Are you just bringing her back, or are you going to stay here with her?"

Lu Rang immediately explained, "After I send her back, I will go back to my own home. Don't worry, before we get married, I will respect her wishes. I will never force her to do anything she doesn't want to do."

Shang Yunshen gave him a meaningful look.

"You seem quite confident. How come you're so sure you two will get married?"

"Alright, come in."

He turned to the side, gesturing for the two to come in and talk.

Shang Wu knew that her brother wouldn't easily bother her so late unless something had happened.

Once inside, Shang Yun Shen indeed adopted a serious demeanor.

"After I got off work today, I received a call from the company saying that the company's legal department had hired someone."

Shang Wu was taken aback for a moment, then asked curiously, "Who?"

"It's Lu Wuwei, a lawyer who used to work at Jinshui Law Firm."

Upon hearing this person's name, both Shang Wu and Lu Rang paused for a moment.

Shang Wu didn't understand.

Wasn't Lu Wuwei already beyond redemption after Zhou Yanci's machinations? I heard he even went to jail.

How could someone suddenly come to apply for the group's legal counsel position?

She asked, "Have you checked whether he is qualified to work as a corporate legal counsel?"

“I looked at his resume, it was clean and without any problems, but now there’s a problem, and I have to hire him.” Shang Yunshen shrugged.

Shang Wu narrowed her eyes, puzzled, and asked, "What's the problem?"

"First, Zhou Yanci entrusted him to help me with a case. Although it was only on the surface, he did work hard for me for several years. At least on the surface, that's the truth."

"Secondly, there is nothing wrong with his resume. The Jinshui Group has long been wiped out, so there is no reason to keep harping on his past."

"Third, before Lu Wuwei arrived, many reporters knew that this lawyer, whom I had worked hard to handle cases for for several years, was about to join the company. They were all praising me and our entire business for being kind and righteous, and for not forgetting those who had helped us."

"Everyone is putting me in a very difficult position, and now I have no choice but to let Lu Wuwei work in our company."

Shang Wu crossed her arms, leaned back on the sofa, and frowned.

"A down-on-his-luck lawyer couldn't possibly attract the attention of reporters; he must have colluded with them."

Lu Rang nodded slightly: "There are people behind him pushing him forward and supporting him in doing this."

Shang Yun Shen agreed, echoing, "That's what I was thinking too, so I decided to keep him here first to see what he really wants to do."

Shang Wu thought about it and realized that this was probably the only way now.

She nodded: "Then be careful, don't let him take advantage of the situation. I suspect that Lu Wuwei may hold a grudge against me. Keep him by your side, and if he dares to do anything, settle accounts with him directly."

Shang Wu once orchestrated the affair between Lu Wuwei and Shen Mian in order to bring down Jinshui Law Firm and to severely damage Zhou Yanci's reputation, seeing that his former beloved had cheated on him again.

Lu Wuwei couldn't possibly be unaware that she was the one who did everything.

This comeback suggests either he's truly been hit hard by life and has nothing left, so he's desperate to seek refuge with businesses, or he's still plotting something.

Shang Wu personally prefers the latter.

After discussing the matter with her, Shang Yun Shen stood up and raised an eyebrow at Lu Rang.

Aren't you coming? Come with me.

Seeing how wary he was of him, as if afraid that he would stay overnight, Lu Rang smiled slightly and nodded knowingly without saying a word.

The two left together.

Shang Yun Shen got into Lu Rang's car.

Shang Wu stood at the door watching them leave, feeling that their conversation in the car wasn't so simple.
