After hanging up the phone, Shang Wu stared at the ledger she carried with her.
What she was holding wasn't the Yu family's accounts, but rather what appeared to be a customs clearance certificate.
Once the accounting issues are resolved, everyone can happily marry Lu Rang, and from now on, they can live happily ever after.
Shang Wu slowly hugged the ledger to her chest.
"Awu, what are you doing?" Lu Rang looked down at her with a smile.
Shang Wu made a gesture: "Five days. I need to finish the accounts and then get engaged to you."
Lu Rang looked at her for a while without saying anything.
"What's wrong? You still have concerns?" Shang Wu lowered her hand.
Lu Rang said, "No, I just have some things to take care of."
Shang Wu had no time to care what he was doing. Before going home, she bought five days' worth of groceries and decided to stay home and resolve all the issues in the accounts.
Lu Rang helped her put the ingredients in the refrigerator, closed the door, and left.
He got into the car, rubbed his injured arm to relieve the tightness and soreness.
The driver turned his head and saw this, and couldn't help but say, "Young master, you shouldn't work so hard with your injured arm. Miss Shang can carry those things. She can get down and tidy them up when she's done."
After saying that, Lu Rang gave him a cold look.
The driver shrank back, not daring to ask again, "Where are you going?"
Lu Rang leaned back in the back seat, his expression indifferent: "Psychological counseling room."
Half an hour later, the car stopped at its destination.
The psychologist was already waiting in the office.
There was a pleasant, indescribable fragrance in the office. The air conditioning was set to a perfect temperature, the curtains were drawn, and a desk lamp was lit on the desk.
The environment and lighting were very comfortable.
As soon as Lu Rang entered, the psychologist smiled and said, "Young Master, your next treatment is still two days away. Why is it earlier?"
Lu Rang walked over and pointed out five days later on the calendar to him.
"If the desensitization therapy starts now and ends on this day, is it possible for it to be effective?"
The psychologist stared wide-eyed at his cold expression: "Young Master, have you been traumatized? We abandoned desensitization therapy from the beginning, and the doctor also instructed you not to use this method. Why do you suddenly want to use it?"
He still remembered when Lu Zheng discovered that Lu Rang had a mental illness, he stormed over in a rage, slammed his fist on the table, and told him to cure Lu Rang within a month.
Lu Rang was thirteen years old that year.
He is the only male heir in this generation of the Yu family.
He could understand Lu Zheng's feelings.
After all, this was his only son, the only hope to inherit the Yu family's waterborne business.
The person in charge of maritime cooperation with major state-owned enterprises must not be an uncontrollable lunatic.
After several days of testing, the psychologist finally found a feasible way to help Lu Rang quickly get out of his psychological shadow.
That is to undergo desensitization treatment.
He repeatedly relived the event that had traumatized him until he became desensitized.
However, when treatment was attempted, the results were very poor.
Lu Rang exhibited clear self-destructive tendencies, even attempting to erase his own spirit when recalling the dry well.
The desensitization therapy was abruptly terminated, pulling Lu Rang back from the brink of a mental breakdown.
After a long period of depression, Lu Zheng accepted reality and ordered everyone to stop mentioning it.
Years later, when the psychologist heard Lu Rang talk about this treatment plan again, he was somewhat taken aback.
Lu Rang looked directly at the doctor: "Shang Wu will resolve the accounting issue in five days. I don't want to hold an engagement banquet with her while I'm sick."
"But Miss Shang didn't insist that you be fully recovered by the time you get engaged, did she? She wants to accompany you through your treatment." The psychologist shrugged, unable to understand.
Lu Rang pressed him with a blank expression: "Are you going to treat me or not?"
The psychologist said helplessly, "Young master, this is too dangerous. Last time you had desensitization therapy, you almost had a mental breakdown. Why do you have to take such a risk?"
Most importantly, Lu Rang's mental breakdown was not a choice he made while he was sober.
Through hypnosis, Lu Rang is taken back to the past, back to the events in his subconscious, and his emotions will be deeply immersed in the day Lu Cong died.
At that time, he was in so much pain that he wanted to sink into the mud with Lu Cong and drown.
"Is my desire to return to a normal, healthy state sufficient?"
Lu Rang stood there, looking down at the psychologist.
"Or rather, I want Shang Wu to only think about how happy we will be when she gets engaged to me, and not worry about when her fiancé's mental illness will get better."
"Is this reason sufficient?"
The psychologist opened his mouth, but ultimately clenched his fists.
“I can agree to help you with desensitization treatment, but I must inform your father about this. If something happens to you here, our family doesn’t have many lives to compensate for it.”
Lu Rang pursed his lips, remained silent for a long time, and finally nodded.
“You can inform him in advance; he has the right to know, but not the right to decide.”
The psychologist breathed a slight sigh of relief, nodded with a wry smile, picked up his phone, went out, and called Lu Zheng for instructions.
The moment the call connected, his first words were urgent: "Sir, the young master has gone mad! He actually wants to try desensitization therapy again! How can I stop him?!"
“There’s no need to stop him, just do it for him.” Lu Zheng’s response was very straightforward.
He showed no surprise or hesitation whatsoever.
The psychologist was somewhat taken aback: "Mr. Lu, did you already know that the young master would do this?"
"Um."
Lu Zheng scoffed: "He's my son, how could I not know what he's capable of? That's just how he is."
After finding someone I like, life suddenly has meaning.
When I have an attack, seeing the other person makes me sober again.
