When Lu Rang went up, he carried two servings of porridge from the hotel restaurant.
He opened the door and saw Shang Wu examining the sandwiches that Chen Chunzhi had brought.
"This smells amazing! It seems to have some flavored smoked meat in it. Would you like to try some?"
Shang Wu handed him another sandwich.
Lu Rang shook his head and said indifferently, "I don't eat this kind of boring stuff."
Shang Wu took a bite of the sandwich, puffed out her cheeks, tilted her head in confusion, and looked at him with puzzled eyes.
Lu Rangcai suddenly remembered that Shang Wu had made him sandwiches, and he had also made sandwiches for Shang Wu.
His eyes flickered as he sat down at the table, opened the porridge container, and handed her a spoon.
"How long will your collaboration with Chen Chunzhi last?"
"This... the project cycle is usually six months. This time we have a big order. Chen Chunzhi's family owns a chain of hotels and is preparing to open three hotels in Lincheng. They have entrusted us with the design. It will probably take more than six months. The cooperation should be completed within a year."
After Shang Wu finished speaking, she glanced at Lu Rang curiously.
"What's wrong? You've never asked me about this kind of work before."
Lu Rang pursed his lips and lowered his eyes, saying, "Then he himself will also stay in Lincheng?"
Shang Wu took a sip of porridge, sighed comfortably, and then replied, "His family doesn't live in Lincheng, and the hotel headquarters isn't in Lincheng either. He was probably on a business trip before the cooperation started and came here to inspect the place."
"I see." Lu Rang stirred the porridge in his bowl, seemingly lost in thought.
Shang Wu wiped her mouth and said, "Let's finish eating, pack up, and go back. Don't worry about work-related matters; I can handle them."
"You can handle the work, but what about the person?"
Lu Rang asked in a low, sullen voice.
Shang Wu didn't hear clearly: "Huh? What did you say?"
Lu Rang pursed his lips, shook his head, took the sandwich from her hand, and threw it into the trash can.
Meeting Shang Wu's probing and hesitant gaze, he said confidently, "There's a good restaurant near the airport. Save your appetite, I'll take you there to try it."
Shang Wu felt something was off, but didn't pay much attention to it.
After she and Lu finished eating and washed up, they headed to the airport.
On the way, Shang Wu learned that many things had happened in Lincheng in the past three days.
After the merchants and the Yu family's revelations were suppressed, Lu Rang kept looking for the person who exposed them, but apart from Lu Zheng being a suspect, he couldn't find any clues.
Lu Zheng repeatedly stated that he would never disturb his wife's spirit again, and would not let her affair become a topic of gossip for everyone, firmly denying that he was the one who did it.
This broke the trail.
Even if the matter is suppressed, the merchants' reputation in the industry is ruined, and many people are deliberately distancing themselves from them.
Not only because they suspected the matter was true and the merchant had not issued any clarification, but also because they dared not offend the Yu family, fearing that getting too close to the merchant would displease Lu Rang.
This matter has been completely suppressed.
But Shang Wu knew that there would be quite a few people gossiping about it behind her back.
Some people even gossiped that Lu Rang was being with her like this, and wondered if he wasn't afraid of upsetting and disappointing his mother in heaven.
Shang Wu felt a vague sense of worry, but Lu Rang's unwavering support gave her courage.
After boarding the plane, they arrived in Lincheng at night.
Shang Wuxian took his team to the company for a meeting.
After the meeting, Aying came to her to report on her work over the past few days.
When Aying heard that she and Lu Rang had reconciled and talked things out, she was very pleased.
She coughed lightly, hesitated, and said, "Actually, I didn't tell you because I was afraid of disturbing your mood while you were away on business. The business has been looking for you and wants to meet with you."
Shang Wu paused, then looked up: "Who wants to meet me?"
"It seems to be Mrs. Shang. Young Master also came to see you. I told them you were on a business trip and to let me know if they needed anything, and I would forward it to you. But they wouldn't say what they wanted to see you about."
Ah Ying shrugged, completely baffled by what the merchant meant.
"Yeah."
Shang Wu scoffed lightly: "Next time they come, I'll have them wait for me in the reception room. I'm also curious to know what they want from me and what else they have to say."
Aying paused, then hesitated.
Shang Wu closed the file, frowned, and asked, "What's wrong?"
"The young master is downstairs right now. The receptionist just called to tell me, but I haven't had a chance to send him away yet," Aying replied.
Upon hearing this, a cold glint flashed in Shang Wu's eyes.
She said coldly, "I know, I'll see him next time."
Shang Wu got up, took the documents, and went downstairs.
Given the current situation, Shang Yun Shen is probably the only one who is still willing to speak properly.
When she visited her father at the nursing home last time, she was actually hoping to see if he would feel guilty about what had happened before and feel sorry for the Yu family.
Unfortunately, no.
Not only that, her father also blamed her for not standing with the business owners and for changing the Shang Group to Freya Group without her consent.
As Shang Wu was deep in thought, she went downstairs and stepped out of the president's private elevator, only to see Shang Yun Shen sitting in the lobby's lounge area waiting.
He drank his tea, looking preoccupied and unhappy.
Shang Wu paused for a moment, then walked straight over.
Upon seeing her approach, Shang Yun Shen immediately stood up.
"I've finally met you, Awu."
Shang Wu asked expressionlessly, "What are you doing here?"
A hint of sadness flashed in Shang Yun Shen's eyes as he said softly, "Are you going to turn your back on me too?"
"I haven't fallen out with you, I just don't think there's any need for further contact. What else do you want from me?" Shang Wu looked at him defensively the whole time.
