Chapter 177 Breakup

After returning, Shang Wu collapsed and slept for a full day and night before waking up.

Even in her sleep, she was unconsciously shedding tears.

When Shang Wu opened her eyes and saw them swollen like walnuts in the mirror, she was startled.

She rubbed her messy hair, then, after rousing herself, washed her face with cold water.

After regaining her senses, she went downstairs, picked up her phone, and instinctively wanted to message Lu Rang to ask what he was doing and if he wanted to have breakfast.

But Shang Wu suddenly realized that she didn't know what Lu Rang's situation was like at the Yu family.

She had already left a long breakup letter, and from then on, she had no further connection with Lu Rang.

The moment Shang Wu picked up her phone, she slowly put it down again.

Her expression was more somber than ever before.

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Shang Wu's heart skipped a beat. For some reason, she suddenly felt that Lu Rang had come to find her.

She went behind the door and looked through the peephole, and was even more astonished.

The next second, Shang Wu did not hesitate and opened the door directly.

How did you know I live here?

She stared at the tall man in front of her, who was wearing a dark red shirt, and was momentarily dazed.

When Chen Chunzhi saw her, he stared in astonishment.

"No way, did you have a fight with your fiancé? Why are your eyes so swollen?"

He took a closer look at Shang Wu's disheveled hair, her haggard face, and the loose, shapeless, oversized nightgown she was wearing that was almost hanging to the floor.

"Or did you break up, and that's why you've turned into this inhuman mess?"

His tone was very familiar and natural, as if he were good friends with Shang Wu, and he could praise or tease her at will.

Shang Wu still treated Chen Chunzhi, the president of the client company, as someone within her work scope.

She felt embarrassed and tidied her hair.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Chen, I'm not feeling well right now. It's only been like this for the past few days. You should have called me in advance so I could have made some preparations."

“I’ve called you countless times, but you didn’t answer. I thought something had happened to you. It just so happens that Aying was also worried about you, so I asked her for your address and came to check on you,” Chen Chunzhi explained, walking in and looking around her house.

Shang Wu found him a pair of slippers, but he was still a little unwell.

In the end, he and Chen Chunzhi were just staring at each other in the living room.

"Would you like coffee, juice, or tea?"

"Whatever, but don't do anything now. I'm afraid you'll faint and tell me what happened."

Chen Chunzhi sat on the sofa, looking at Shang Wu.

Shang Wu paused, realizing that their relationship wasn't about personal matters.

She was about to give a perfunctory answer when Chen Chunzhi noticed something was wrong with her.

"I've met countless people and been in at least 8 or 10 relationships. I have some experience in dating. Tell me what's going on between you and your fiancé. I'll give you some advice as a way of repaying your company team for their dedication to my project."

Shang Wu is feeling very upset, but she refuses to confide in anyone.

She simply shrugged awkwardly.

"I'm sorry, I don't want to say it, I can't bring myself to say it."

"I understand." Chen Chunzhi didn't insist and stood up again.

"How about this, I won't drink the tea either. I'll take you somewhere relaxing."

Shang Wu raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Mr. Chen, what brings you here now?"

"We just wanted to take you for a drive, and also to see what happened to you, the president of the client company who hasn't shown up at the office for two days. Ah Ying and I are both wondering if you died at home."

Chen Chunzhi was unrefined in his speech. He helped Shang Wu pack her phone and a few essentials into her bag and carried it on his body without any hesitation.

"Hurry up and catch up. I'll wait for you outside. You have fifteen minutes to get ready. No need for makeup. We're not going on a date. I don't mind how you dress."

He pointed out that Shang Wu's nightgown looked like it had been dug out of a garbage dump.

"You shouldn't wear this nightgown. People will think I've kidnapped a female beggar."

This was the only time Shang Wu had been able to laugh during these past two days, when she was exhausted and overwhelmed.

She gave a slight smile.

"Okay, then I'll trouble you to wait outside for a moment, Mr. Chen."

She felt like she was going crazy staying in her room, and if there was a way to alleviate the pain of breaking up with Lu Rang, she was willing to try it to relax.

Shang Wu turned around and went upstairs. After changing her clothes and casually combing her hair, she came out after a quick wash.

She was indeed not wearing any makeup, but even so, Chen Chunzhi couldn't take his eyes off her bare face.

He turned to the side.

"Get in the car."

Shang Wu sat down.

The phone screen lit up in Chen Chunzhi's bag, and no one noticed.
