Chapter 21 There is no substitute for Shang Wu

Lu Rang froze, his usually calm eyes filled with astonishment.

Shang Wu lifted his foot and kissed him.

Lu Rang remained motionless.

When there were only two centimeters between them, and their breaths were tangled together, Shang Wu's expression suddenly changed.

She pushed Lu Rang away, stumbled to the trash can, and vomited.

Lu Rang's fingertips curled up, his face turned cold for a moment, and he returned to the car.

Shang Wu only drank half a glass of strong liquor, but didn't vomit anything; her stomach was burning with pain.

Pain makes people more alert.

Shang Wu regained her senses and guiltily opened the passenger door and got in.

"that……"

Before she could say anything, Lu Rang stepped on the gas.

"seat belt."

Shang Wu nearly hit the windshield and frantically tried to pull on her seatbelt.

A faint awkwardness filled the carriage.

Shang Wu tried several times to apologize for her impolite and rash behavior.

Unfortunately, Lu Rang was either focused on driving or looking out the window while waiting at a red light, unwilling to discuss the previous topic again.

Shang Wu could only sit in the passenger seat, lost in thought. After hesitating for a moment without finding an opportunity, drowsiness came first.

She simply closed her eyes and took a short nap.

Without realizing it, my breathing gradually became regular and even.

Lu Rang glanced at Shang Wu in the rearview mirror and slowed down his driving.

A dozen minutes later, the car arrived at the entrance of an apartment building.

Lu Rang opened the car door: "Wake up."

Shang Wu opened her eyes and looked at the apartment in a daze.

"This doesn't seem to be my home."

“I don’t know where you live.” Lu Rang got out of the car. “I’ll call you a car. Come on down.”

Shang Wu was taken aback: "Why didn't you take me home?"

“I’m not your driver. Besides, I went to the bar on business and I have to work overtime tonight, so I have to be back as soon as possible.”

Lu Rang tapped his phone and hailed a car on the platform.

Shang Wu was speechless.

If you're not going to take her home, why let her get in the car?

She unbuckled her seatbelt and got out.

Lu Rang's eyes flickered, and he added, "I'm here to deal with your brother's matter."

Shang Wu immediately turned around, perked up, and went around to the other side of the car.

"What have you found? Is there a breakthrough?"

Lu Rang nodded slightly: "Li Chengzhang, who was seriously injured by your brother, had all his medical records at a hospital deleted three years ago. It is possible that he was infertile and used this as an excuse to frame Mr. Shang."

Shang Wu's heart was pounding.

At the time, she trusted Zhou Yanci completely, and she believed everything the lawyer Zhou Yanci hired said.

Everyone said that it was indeed her brother who accidentally injured that person, causing her infertility, and the lawyer regretfully informed her that she could not fight for a lighter sentence.

Shang Wu thought that things really wouldn't turn around, and that her brother was so unlucky that he got into trouble just because he stood up for her.

Now it seems that this is not the case at all.

It was a trap carefully set by Zhou Yanci from beginning to end!

Shang Wu pursed her lips and slowly gripped her sleeve.

A cold wind blew by, and her mind became incredibly clear. She took a deep breath: "Is there any way to recover the deleted medical records?"

"No."

Lu Rang paused, then looked at Shang Wu: "In previous years, personal medical records could be synchronized to family members' medical accounts. If we get Li Chengzhang's wife's account, we should be able to find it."

"Even if they erased the traces back then, it's possible they overlooked this one."

Shang Wu's heart pounded: "Okay, I'll find a way to get close to his wife."

She gritted her teeth and said, word by word, "I will find the evidence. These people ruined my brother's life, and they will all pay the price!"

Lu Rang looked down at her: "You're being watched by Zhou Yanci, so don't make any rash moves. I'll handle it."

Shang Wu's eyes flickered slightly, and she hesitated, "But you're a lawyer, wouldn't it be too obvious for you to approach his wife so abruptly?"

"It's none of your business. I'm just doing what people pay me to do."

Lu Rang raised his hand, signaling the driver to come over.

He took out his phone, snapped a picture of the license plate, and reminded Shang Wu, "The car's here, let's go back."

Shang Wu nodded unconsciously, but after taking a few steps, she couldn't help but turn back.

Lu Rang was still standing there when he saw her looking over, and he raised his eyebrows slightly.

Shang Wu smiled and said, "Thank you, Attorney Lu."

Lu Rang paused, then said casually, "If I've taken ten times your money, I should create ten times the value."

He climbed the steps in a few steps, opened the door, and went inside.

Shang Wu then got into the car, feeling an unprecedented sense of joy.

Only now did she feel as if she had fallen into an abyss and then seen the light at the end of the tunnel.

She couldn't wait to overturn the verdict and bring her brother out to reunite with the family.

This led to the oversight that Lu Rang already knew that Zhou Yanci's imprisonment was related to her brother's.

Just then, the cell phone rang.

Shang Wu was in a great mood and answered the phone.

Ah Ying's anxious voice came through: "Director Shang, are you alright?"

"Why are you suddenly asking this?" Shang Wu was taken aback, and even thought that A Ying had made a mistake.

Aying sighed: "The jewelry department received a notice that you are not feeling well and need to rest for two days. Designer Ji will be the acting director for these two days. I thought something serious had happened to you."

Shang Wu paused, then found it amusing.

Suspend her from her post and promote Ji Yu to acting director?

OK.

Then let Zhou Yanci wake up, open her eyes and see clearly that she is not a pawn that can be kicked away at will.

Shang Wu calmly reassured her: "It's okay. Just do your job well these next two days. If Ji Yu makes things difficult for you, don't be afraid. Tell her that if she does it again, you will expose her bullying behavior to the whole company."

"Then, will I be fired?" Aying asked hesitantly.
