Chapter 261 Pregnant? shuhaige.net

Night was falling.

In the guest room of the Yu family's old house, only a bedside lamp cast a warm yellow light.

Shangwu has just finished a video conference with the dock manager.

She rubbed her slightly swollen temples.

There was a subtle silence in the air.

Lu Rang sat on a sofa not far away, quietly flipping through a financial magazine.

But Shang Wu knew that he hadn't read a single page.

This was the first night since the Cold War that they had spent the night together in a room, a night filled with awkwardness and a hint of ambiguity.

She finally raised her head and looked at him.

"tonight……"

Upon hearing this, Lu Rang immediately looked up, his gaze questioning.

Shang Wu lowered her eyelashes and spoke very softly.

"Don't go."

She paused, then added, "Let's stay here."

Lu Rang was stunned.

The magazine slipped and fell onto the carpet with a dull thud.

His dark eyes lit up with surprise; he could hardly believe his ears.

“A-Wu”.

He stood up and walked towards her step by step.

A tall figure loomed over them.

Shang Wu's heart suddenly raced.

She instinctively took a half step back, but her back pressed against the cold wall.

There is no way to retreat.

Lu Rang reached out and gently lifted her chin with his fingers, making her meet his gaze.

There were too many emotions churning inside.

“A-Wu”.

He called out softly again, as if sighing, or perhaps confirming.

The next second.

He could no longer control himself and leaned down to kiss her lips.

Shang Wu's mind went blank.

The familiar, crisp scent completely enveloped her.

Her body was stiff, but softened little by little in the warm kiss, and her hands unconsciously climbed onto his shoulders.

It felt like an eternity before Lu Rang finally let go of her.

Their foreheads touched, their breaths mingling, both somewhat rapid.

Shang Wu's cheeks flushed red, and she didn't dare to look at him. She pushed him away abruptly.

"I'm going to take a shower!"

Her voice carried a hint of panic followed by a coquettish reproach as she practically fled into the bathroom.

The slam of the door shut shut out the inside from the outside.

Lu Rang stood there, staring at the tightly closed bathroom door.

Soon, the sound of rushing water came from inside.

He raised his hand, his fingertips gently tracing his lips.

Her soft touch and sweet scent still lingered there, revealing a faint but heartfelt smile.

The frozen river seemed to finally hear the first soft sound of melting.

Just then.

His phone, which was on the bedside table, suddenly lit up.

A new message has been received.

He walked over and picked it up casually.

It was a multimedia message sent from an unknown number.

Click to open.

A photo popped up.

The person in the photo is Lin Ruan.

His law firm's new assistant.

In the photo, she is wearing a silk nightgown.

One hand was gently stroking her flat stomach.

He wore an almost defiant smile.

Lu Rang's brows furrowed instantly.

baffling.

He even found it somewhat absurd.

What is this woman doing?

He did not hesitate at all.

Long press that message.

I chose to delete.

Then, I cleanly and efficiently added the number to the blacklist.

He didn't want anyone unimportant to disturb this hard-won moment of warmth.

He put the phone back where it was.

My mood wasn't greatly affected.

What she was really looking forward to was that after Shang Wu came out, they might be able to continue that unfinished kiss, and... more.

The sound of water stopped.

After a while, the bathroom door was opened.

Shang Wu came out wearing a soft nightgown, with water droplets still dripping from her hair.

The heat made her face even more rosy.

But Lu Rang keenly noticed that her expression was off.

That wasn't a blush of shyness.

Rather, it was a deathly pallor.

Her eyes were cold.

Even with a hint of... disgust?

Lu Rang's heart sank.

He stepped forward, wanting to take her hand.

"Awu, what's wrong?"

Shang Wu abruptly shook off his hand, pointed at the door, and said in a voice as cold as ice.

"go out."

Lu Rang stood there, completely bewildered by this sudden turn of events.

"Ah Wu? She was fine just now..."

"I told you to get out!"

Shang Wu raised her voice, her tone irritable.

Her phone was tightly clutched in her other hand.

The screen was still lit.

Lu Rang understood instantly.

He also received the message.

What Shang Wu received was definitely more than just a photo.

"Awu, let me explain. I don't know anything about that photo. I've already blocked her..."

"Block?"

Shang Wu gave a cold laugh.

Does blocking someone mean everything never happened?

She took a deep breath, trying to maintain her last shred of sanity.

"Lu Rang, I don't want to see you right now."

"Please leave."

Her gaze was even more distant than during the height of their cold war.

Lu Rang felt a pang of pain in his heart as he looked at her trying to hold back her tears.

He knew that any explanation at this moment would be futile.

He took a step back in dejection.

"Okay... I'll go out."

"Calm down."

He turned around and silently walked out of the room.

The door closed gently behind him.

It also shut down the glimmer of hope that had just begun to shine through.

Inside the room.

Shang Wu leaned weakly against the door and slowly slid down to the ground.
