Chapter 49 Shang Wu, what are you so arrogant about? You'll be in trouble soon.

“I need you so much, Attorney Lu, be mine.”

Shang Wu spoke sincerely, her eyelashes drooping.

Lu Rang had a misconception.

Shang Wu wasn't trying to recruit him; she was confessing her feelings.

Devout and solemn.

"I won't use you unless it's absolutely necessary. Even if things don't work out in the future, I'll still protect you."

Lu Rang remained unmoved and unmoved by her words: "You haven't even started, and you're already thinking about how things haven't been accomplished. You're so insecure."

His gaze gradually sharpened: "To avenge one's family, isn't it the same as refusing to back down even when facing a fierce tiger?"

Shang Wu was taken aback, but immediately nodded: "That's how it is. I was just afraid you would have any concerns, so I wanted to put your mind at ease."

Lu Rang slightly curved his lips, but the smile vanished in an instant.

"So you're agreeing to cooperate with me and not being angry with me anymore, right?" Shang Wu chuckled. "You're quite easy to coax."

Lu Rang was speechless: "Miss Shang was just coaxing me? I didn't realize it. I only felt that you were coercing me."

Shang Wu blinked: "No way."

She reached out and lifted the blanket covering Lu Rang, revealing faint bruises on the back of his hand.

"Hmm, it looks much better. Does it still hurt?"

Just as Lu Rang shook his head, the phone on the table rang.

Shang Wu frowned slightly as she looked at the silent incoming call.

After the call connected, Chenmian smiled provocatively: "Miss Shang, when are you going to process the handover certificates for the people you brought to the branch office? We're waiting for your signature."

Shang Wu said impatiently, "This is none of your business, don't bother me."

"You probably don't know yet, but Xiao Dong's mother is sick, and he took leave to stay with her at the hospital. A Ci needs someone to help him, so I've started working as his secretary now."

Chenmian smiled gently, still maintaining her usual gentle demeanor: "Miss Shang, please guide me in the future. Just tell me what you want to do on the boat."

Shang Wu's expression turned cold, and she hung up the phone immediately.

She found Zhou Yanci more repulsive than Chen Mian's provocation.

One minute he was pretending to be anxious and questioning her love in the office, and the next he arranged for Chenmian to be his secretary.

She'd had enough and didn't want to play along with this drama queen.

In Shang Wu's heart, no one could compare to her hatred for Zhou Yanci.

No matter how bad Ji Yu is, she is still an accomplice.

Zhou's words are the root of all evil.

He plundered all resources, talent, and property.

Her brother, who posed a threat to her, was imprisoned, and she was kept in control of the company. Her elderly and infirm parents were used as leverage to control her in the future.

Zhou Yanci spared no one from the merchants; her cold-bloodedness was so extreme that it sent chills down her spine whenever she thought about it.

"You are very unhappy."

Shang Wu closed her eyes and straightened up: "I don't have time to be unhappy."

She picked up her bag and said, "I'm leaving now."

Lu Rang raised his hand, only managing to grab a corner of her clothes.

Shang Wu left in a hurry.

Instead of rushing to Chengzhou Group to hand over the business's employees, she drove around Lincheng for a while.

From the former Shang family to the now unfamiliar office building.

From a grand detached villa to a botanical garden that has been completely altered after being auctioned off by the court.

Then you can see the Aoki Ward Prison surrounded by mountains in the distance.

Her life was completely ruined.

Shang Wu realized this again.

She could hardly imagine what kind of ending Zhou Yanci would receive after she got back everything that rightfully belonged to the merchant.

They too suffered the same fate: losing their families and everything, reduced to the point of being trampled underfoot by all the wealthy young men of Lincheng.

Shang Wu stepped on the gas without expression and rushed to Cheng Zhou's president's office.

Before she even went upstairs, she activated the listening device and put on a Bluetooth headset.

As Shang Wu went upstairs, many people greeted him.

She nodded slightly, listening to the shameless flirting between the man and woman in her earphones, her eyes remaining completely unmoved. Finally, she extracted and saved the audio clip.

bite--

The elevator stopped on the top floor.

Shang Wu walked out, and just as she reached the office door to knock, she changed her route and went to the next office instead.

She raised her hand and knocked on the door.

Xiao Dong was tidying up some documents when he saw her coming over and smiled, "Ms. Shang."

"Are you doing alright at home? I heard you've taken leave to take care of your mother." Shang Wu crossed her arms and looked at him calmly.

A look of surprise flashed across Xiao Dong's eyes.

Aside from Zhou Yanci, the jewelry department, and her best friend Ji Yu, with whom she had a falling out, Shang Wu was indifferent to everyone else.

They worked together for three years, but they never spoke to each other about anything outside of work.

Xiao Dong quickly replied, "My mother's condition is very complicated and she needs someone to take care of her, so I have to go and stay with her."

"Do you have enough money?" Shang Wu asked.

Xiao Dong's eyes flickered, and he gave a wry smile: "I'll figure something out."

Shang Wu turned around and sat down at the table: "Why don't you go ask Yan Ci for it? If he knew you were in trouble, he wouldn't refuse to give it to you. After all, you've been with him for so many years."

Xiao Dong opened his mouth, unsure how to answer.

After a long pause, he lowered his head and said, "I've already spoken to Mr. Zhou, but he said that I lost all my money because of my failed investment last time, and it's my own fault that I can't get the money out now. He told me to figure it out myself."

Shang Wu looked at Xiao Dong's sad expression and said calmly, "Take one million from my account."

Xiao Dong suddenly looked up, staring at her in disbelief: "Miss Shang, what's wrong with you...?"

"It's not a gift, it's a loan. You have to pay me back when you get your salary."

Shang Wu took out a card and handed it to him: "Keep going, you'll get through this. Aren't we all like this? Every difficulty is overcome, but just don't make any more reckless investments in the future."
