Shang Wu narrowed her eyes slightly and pushed the door open to go inside.
"I'm really disappointed that you didn't die from the fall."
Upon hearing Shang Wu's words, Ji Yu suddenly sat up in bed.
Lu Rang stepped forward and put his hand to protect Shang Wu.
Shang Wu glanced at him without showing any emotion.
Ji Yu didn't even bother to ask the nurse to bandage her up. She knelt on the bed with difficulty and kowtowed to Shang Wu in a disheveled manner.
"Ah Wu, I'm begging you! Please save me! Please save me! Zhou Yanci is trying to kill me, I can't take it anymore!"
"Every day I'm there is torture. Take me away!"
Shang Wu glanced at her in surprise and saw that every time she kowtowed, the back of her neck was covered with numerous scars.
She walked over, pulled open Ji Yu's collar, and saw that her neck was covered with marks from being hit.
If there are scars on the neck, one can imagine what the rest of the body looks like.
She looked at Ji Yu, frowning, "What has Zhou Yanci done to you in the villa area these past few days?"
“After I escaped last time, Zhou Yanci refused to let me go and kept having people torture me in various ways. He refused to show himself and handed me over to the guards who were watching me.”
As Ji Yu finished speaking, she closed her eyes in anguish.
"Those people eventually developed evil intentions."
Ji Yu cried uncontrollably: "They, they took turns doing those things to me... They burned me with cigarette butts, beat me in all sorts of ways, and took their anger out on me whenever they were in a bad mood!"
Shang Wu pursed her lips slightly.
"I'd rather die than wait there to die!"
Ji Yu cried harder and harder, and the gauze on her arm was coming off.
The nurse quickly bandaged her up and immobilized her.
Shang Wu nodded to the nurse.
"You've worked hard. Go out now. I have something to say to her alone."
The nurse left the ward.
Shang Wu then looked at Lu Rang.
Lu Rang paused slightly: "Do I need to go out too?"
"Otherwise what?" Shang Wu retorted.
Lu Rang pursed his lips even tighter, said nothing, and closed the door for them as he left.
Shang Wu found it amusing to see Ji Yu's pitiful and frightened state.
"You've finally met your match. Weren't you invincible when you teamed up with Zhou Yanci? How come you're now his prisoner? Don't you think this is retribution?"
“My parents and my brother used to treat you well, treating you like family. They thought you were their only best friend, and they went to great lengths to cherish you, hoping our friendship would last forever. But what did you do?”
Shang Wu grabbed Ji Yu's chin and, seeing her terrified expression, slapped her across the face.
Ji Yu was slapped onto the bed, trembling and afraid to look up.
"You colluded with Zhou Yanci to target businesses and me, exploiting me relentlessly for ten years without ever being worthy of my trust. Now you expect me to save you? Do you think that's even possible?"
Shang Wu shook his hand, his eyes filled with nothing but anger.
Once, she went to a temple to pray for peace. The amulet had her family written on it, followed by Ji Yu.
In the past, Ji Yu was like a sister to her.
She never imagined that her closest sister would be the ungrateful wretch who hurt her the most.
Ji Yu covered her face, unable to even cry out in pain.
She looked at Shang Wu as if she had seen a ghost.
"You know everything? You even know this!"
"Yes, I know."
Shang Wu smiled enigmatically: "You've been staying in the villa area for so long, you haven't even heard what's happening outside, have you?"
Ji Yu shook her head.
Shang Wu curled her lips: "I not only found out that you were responsible for the downfall of the business, but I also took control of Zhou Yanci's company shares. I know that all his assets have been taken away by me, and he is now an unemployed bum."
"How could this happen?" Ji Yu was stunned.
She thought Zhou Yanci was the smartest and most ruthless person she had ever met, and that no one could outmaneuver him.
He alone could bankrupt a long-established business in an instant, let alone deal with a mere merchant.
In just half a month, such earth-shattering changes have taken place outside.
Ji Yu was stunned.
Shang Wu leaned down and pressed down on the edge of the bed, his cold gaze piercing her like ice thorns.
"I'm only giving you two choices now. First, confess all the evidence related to the merchant's case. I can save you now. After you recover, help me deal with Zhou Yanci and send him to prison."
Ji Yu wore an indescribable expression.
"And the second one?"
"Secondly, now that you know my plan, it's very likely to leak out. Only the dead keep their mouths shut. You didn't die today, but I have a hundred ways to kill you. It just so happens that the news reports about you jumping off a building to commit suicide. Even if you die, no one will suspect anything."
Shang Wu curled into a smile, his eyes filled with a bloodthirsty coldness that showed he had everything under control.
Ji Yu was frightened by her murderous look.
She was utterly despondent: "What other choice do I have? In that case, I can only choose the first one."
Shang Wu didn't show it on the surface, but he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
“I also want to warn you that if you reveal what Zhou Yanci did back then, as an ally, you will also have to go to jail. But compared to that, it will be more comfortable to atone for your sins in prison.”
Ji Yu was speechless, her face ashen.
"I understand... I understand..."
Shang Wu composed herself and said coldly, "I will move you away in the next two days."
"What about Zhou Yanci? How are you going to explain things to them?" Ji Yu asked worriedly, afraid that she wouldn't be able to keep it a secret.
Just as Shang Wu was about to speak, the ward door was suddenly kicked open.
Zhou Yanci rushed in anxiously.
