"Much better."
She finished her coffee, stood up, stretched, and said, "I should go back now."
A glint seemed to flash in Lu Rang's eyes. He paused for a moment before turning to the side and saying, "I'll take you."
Just as Shang Wu was about to leave, she suddenly noticed a person standing not far from the door, looking in their direction under the streetlight. The person was dressed in black and had a fixed gaze.
The scene was so bizarre that she gasped, "Lu Rang... someone's here!"
Lu Rang turned his head and his expression changed.
As he walked out, the man turned and disappeared into the darkness.
Lu Rang slowly frowned.
Shang Wu walked to the door, but there was no one left to see.
Her heart pounded: "Who's spying on me? Or on you? They look familiar... Could it be Qianjue again?"
Lu Rang couldn't help but say, "Yes, he's here to see me. He won't hurt you, don't be afraid."
Shang Wu nodded, pulled her coat tighter around herself, and her phone suddenly rang in her pocket.
It was Zhao Yixin who called her.
Shang Wu immediately answered the call: "Hello, how's the situation?"
"They said a lot, and I've sent the recording to your email."
Zhao Yixin cautiously asked, "Can I say that I'm helping to overturn the verdict and redeem myself through meritorious service?"
Shang Wu scoffed, pulled out the recording from her email, and sent it directly to Lu Rang's phone, asking him to forward it to the head of the Inspectorate.
The Inspectorate's investigation into this matter was much easier for her than gathering evidence herself.
She said calmly, "Don't worry, as long as you don't tell anyone, you'll definitely be treated leniently in the end."
After hanging up the phone, Shang Wu slowly exhaled.
Lu Rang asked, "Don't you want to listen to what's in the recording?"
"I won't listen."
Shang Wu's expression changed slightly; she didn't want to hear any more about how these people maliciously plotted to plunder the business.
Seeing that she was very resistant to these things, Lu Rang didn't say anything, handed her the documents, and went out to drive.
After Shang Wu was driven home, she stood there watching the car leave.
She wrapped her coat tighter, clutched the documents, and was about to open the door to go inside when someone suddenly patted her on the shoulder.
When Shang Wu met a pair of dead fish eyes, her heart skipped a beat.
"Why is it you?"
Qianjue stared intently at her and said coldly, "You approached the young master and seduced him, wasn't it all to overturn the Shang family's case? Soon this case will see the light of day again. When that time comes, please stop bothering him."
Upon hearing these words, Shang Wu felt utterly bewildered.
"Are you out of your mind? Stop following me, or I'll call Lu Rang."
Qianjue ignored her and continued, "In order to gain access to the connections of the Chief Inspector, the young master has promised our master that once this case is resolved, he will quit being a lawyer, go back to inherit the family business, and get married."
"He has already chosen his marriage partner, a clean and honest rich heiress who owns a listed company, and is smart, beautiful and talented. You can't compare to her."
Shang Wu was taken aback.
Qianjue snorted: "You've been with the Zhou family's young master, and now you're trying to seduce our young master. The master looks down on you the most."
He left after he finished speaking.
Shang Wu stood there, suddenly remembering what Lu Rang had said about his family pressuring him to get married.
I remembered Lu Rang saying that he had traded something to get the attention of the Chief Inspector.
Is it his legal career, and his marriage?
Did Lu really let him choose a marriage partner?
Shang Wu felt conflicted. After thinking for a long time, she couldn't help but take out her phone and search online.
There aren't many female bosses in Lincheng who own their own companies.
Add to that her intelligence, beauty, and status as a young, wealthy heiress...
Shang Wu's fingertips twitched.
Only two people remained.
She met her good friend Tang Xueli in college.
There's also Su Tingting, who's always been at odds with her.
