The celebratory dinner had a wonderful atmosphere.
Because she was happy, Lu You did drink a few more glasses. Her alcohol tolerance is actually not too bad, but in her relaxed state today, the alcohol came on particularly quickly.
She didn't go back with Lu Rang. When she walked out of the restaurant, the evening breeze made her steps a little unsteady.
Cheng Zhou, who had been walking beside her, naturally reached out and put his arm around her shoulder, pulling her half into his embrace.
Be careful.
His voice sounded particularly deep in the night, carrying a hint of barely perceptible concern.
Lu You felt that the place he touched was a little hot.
She struggled slightly, but couldn't break free; instead, he held her even tighter.
"Don't move."
He whispered a reminder, "What if you fall?"
Lu You snorted and became a little more obedient, letting him help her walk to the parking lot.
Cheng Zhou drove a black Maybach.
He opened the car door, carefully shielded Lu You's head, helped her inside, and then bent down to carefully fasten her seatbelt.
His breath brushed against her cheek, carrying a faint scent of aftershave.
Lu You felt her face getting even hotter, and her heart was racing.
The car drove smoothly into the night.
The city lights streamed through the car window, casting shifting shadows on Lu You's face.
She leaned back in her chair, feeling dizzy, but her mood was unusually cheerful. The long-suppressed frustration had vanished, and she couldn't help but want to vent.
Lu Rang began to hum a tune softly, an unknown little tune, broken and intermittent.
Cheng Zhou glanced at her sideways, a silent smile playing on his lips. He thought she looked kind of cute, like a lazy cat.
As she hummed along, Lu You seemed to get into the mood, and her voice gradually grew louder as she began to sing a recently popular love song.
Her voice was slightly hoarse with a hint of intoxication, the tune was a bit off, and she remembered the lyrics in a jumbled mess.
But she sang with such passion and abandon.
"You are... um... scenery... no..."
She frowned.
I tried hard to recall the lyrics, and my hands unconsciously started gesturing, waving to the rhythm of my own haphazardly adapted lyrics.
"It's...it's ice cream in summer! And hand warmers in winter!"
She completely abandoned the original lyrics and began to improvise, creating a set of hilarious lyrics.
Cheng Zhou finally couldn't help but chuckle softly.
He quietly took out his phone, unlocked it, and turned on the recording function.
The camera was focused on the "female singer" next to him, who was immersed in her own world.
Lu You was completely unaware.
She was singing the climax.
"Cheng Zhou is a complete idiot!"
She suddenly yelled, startling Cheng Zhou and causing the camera to shake.
"All you ever do is... investigate, investigate, investigate!"
She waved her arms as if conducting a symphony.
"He's been wearing a long face lately, like someone owes him money..."
She muttered to herself, her tone carrying a hint of complaint, but her eyes sparkled with a smile.
"but……"
Lu You's voice suddenly lowered.
It sounded like she was talking to herself, but it also sounded like she was talking to him.
"He's quite handsome... um... reliable... much better than those slick-haired guys..."
She spoke haltingly, her voice growing softer and softer, and her singing gradually turned into muffled humming.
As Cheng Zhou held up his phone and listened to her drunken confessions, his heart felt as if it were being gently brushed by a feather.
It's itchy and soft.
He looked at Lu You's slightly flushed cheeks and hazy eyes, and her lips slightly parted from singing, and his Adam's apple bobbed involuntarily.
The green light is on.
The car behind honked its horn.
The driver started the car.
Cheng Zhou then came to his senses, reluctantly stopping the recording, saving the footage to cherish for the future.
The car drove smoothly.
Lu You seemed to have sung enough and made enough noise, and quieted down.
She leaned her head against the car window, closed her eyes, and her long eyelashes, like two small fans, cast a faint shadow under her eyelids. Her breathing became even and long.
Seeing that she seemed to be asleep, Cheng Zhou turned up the car's air conditioning temperature to make her more comfortable.
However, at a certain turn...
Lu You's body slumped softly toward him due to inertia.
impartial.
She leaned against Cheng Zhou's shoulder.
Her head rested on his shoulder, her warm breath spraying against his neck, carrying a faint scent of wine and her own unique fragrance.
Cheng Zhou's body froze instantly, his hands tightened, and his heartbeat suddenly became erratic.
He could see her peaceful sleeping face when he looked down, her hair brushing against his chin.
The soft touch made him lose his mind.
He tried not to do anything, but the real weight and warmth on his shoulders constantly challenged his self-control.
The carriage was quiet, the only sound the intertwined breaths of the two people. An ambiguous atmosphere silently spread and fermented in the small space.
Lu You seemed to find the position very comfortable, and unconsciously rubbed against his shoulder, like a little animal seeking warmth, letting out a satisfied sigh.
Cheng Zhou's breathing became completely disordered.
He took a deep breath, trying to calm his agitated mind.
But the effect was minimal.
Cheng Zhou looked at her lips, so close to his own, as if it were a silent invitation.
The string of reason is tightening little by little, as if it will snap at any moment.
Finally, at another red light, the driver slowly brought the car to a stop.
In the back seat, Cheng Zhou seemed to be drawn by some invisible force, lowering his head and carefully touching Lu You's lips.
