At this moment, in a high-end Western restaurant called "Bunuolin" in City S, Tang Yi and Ye Huanhuan were enjoying a romantic candlelight dinner.
This Western restaurant is located on the top floor of the tallest building in S City. Through huge, transparent glass windows, you can overlook the entire bustling city. The dazzling lights and busy streets are all in sight, giving you the feeling of being in the clouds.
At this moment, only Tang Yi and Ye Huanhuan were guests in the entire Western restaurant. The chefs and waiters were busily preparing a variety of exquisite dishes. Their movements were skilled and swift, making each dish as beautiful as a work of art.
Six solemn-looking bodyguards stood guard at the restaurant entrance to prevent unauthorized personnel from entering and disturbing Tang Yi and his companion's meal.
Just then, Assistant Zhao walked in carrying a huge bouquet of roses. The bouquet was like a flame, passionate and dazzling, exuding a rich fragrance.
Tang Yi accepted the roses, his eyes filled with intense and passionate love.
He then took out an exquisite gift box from the heart of the rose, and Tang Yi slowly opened the box, presenting it to Ye Huanhuan.
It was an exquisite and dazzling diamond ring. The diamond was about the size of a pigeon egg, and it sparkled brilliantly under the light, like the brightest star in the night sky.
Tang Yi looked at Ye Huanhuan, his eyes filled with intense and passionate love.
"Huanhuan, will you marry me?"
Faced with Tang Yi's marriage proposal, Ye Huanhuan didn't seem particularly happy; instead, she looked troubled.
"Tang Yi...this is too fast...I'm sorry, I'm not ready..."
Yes, it was too fast, so fast that it was hard for her to accept.
She had only recently divorced and had previously decided never to remarry, but less than six months have passed. Is she getting married again?
Tang Yi's hand holding the diamond ring trembled slightly, a hint of disappointment flashing in his eyes, but he quickly regained his composure and spoke slowly:
“Huanhuan, I didn’t think things through and made you feel awkward. But there are some things I have to tell you. I think I might have fallen in love with you the moment I first saw you. At that time, you were wearing a white top and jeans and you were arguing with a salesperson in the mall. You caught my attention immediately.”
Ye Huanhuan was stunned for a moment, then immediately remembered what Tang Yi meant by "when".
So, he noticed me back then?
Tang Yi continued, "Later, when I asked you to meet me at Champs-Élysées, I knew that I would never escape your grasp for the rest of my life."
Ye Huanhuan stared blankly at Tang Yi, her heart filled with emotion and conflict.
She didn't know if she could truly believe in love again, nor did she know if she could give Tang Yi the same feelings.
Tang Yi noticed Ye Huanhuan's hesitation, so he took her hand and said gently:
“Huanhuan, I know this is sudden for you. I don’t want to put pressure on you, I just want you to know that I will always wait for you, until the day you are ready.”
Ye Huanhuan looked at Tang Yi, feeling a little nervous, but she decided to take the risk and try again. She took a deep breath, then slowly extended her right hand and gently placed it in front of Tang Yi.
Her voice trembled slightly: "Tang Yi, I hope to spend the rest of my life with you. I don't want my child to be born without a father, so I'm willing to marry you."
Tang Yi was stunned when he heard this. His eyes widened, unable to believe what he had just heard. After a long while, he came to his senses, and an expression of ecstatic joy appeared on his face.
"Huanhuan... what did you say? You're willing to marry me?" Tang Yi was so excited that he stammered.
Ye Huanhuan nodded, her eyes sparkling: "Yes, Tang Yi, I'm willing to marry you. Thank you for everything you've done for me. I will love you well from now on, and I hope you will too."
Tang Yi was so happy that he hugged Ye Huanhuan tightly and held her close in his arms.
His heart was pounding so hard it felt like it would burst out of his chest. He was so excited he was incoherent:
"Thank you, Huanhuan, thank you for accepting me! I will definitely treat you and our child well and love you for the rest of my life."
Tang Yi held Ye Huanhuan tightly, gently stroking her soft hair with one hand, and said in a gentle tone:
"Huanhuan, let's go to Beijing together this weekend. I want you to meet my grandfather."
Ye Huanhuan nestled quietly in Tang Yi's warm embrace, her face beaming with a happy and content smile.
Upon hearing this, Ye Huanhuan was slightly taken aback, but quickly recovered and sat up straight, replying:
"OK!"
Then, as if she had thought of something, Ye Huanhuan asked:
"If I were to visit your home, what kind of gift should I prepare for your grandfather? Also, what are some things your parents like?"
"My mom and dad..."
Tang Yi's eyes darkened slightly as he replied, "They passed away when I was very young, and my grandfather raised me. If you go to the capital, just offer them incense; there's no need to bring any other gifts."
Ye Huanhuan felt a pang of pain in her heart and looked at Tang Yi with a look of heartache in her eyes.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know..."
Tang Yi shook his head and smiled: "It's okay, many years have passed, you don't need to blame yourself."
Ye Huanhuan bit her lip, wrapped her arms around Tang Yi's waist again, pressed her head against his chest, and asked, "What about Grandpa? Does he have anything he likes?"
