When Ye Haiming returned to the Ye family home after being informed by the servants, he saw Ye Ru, whom he had been searching for for two or three days, sitting quietly in the living room on the first floor, chatting happily with Gao Yalan.
A chilling light appeared in his eyes as he stared at Ye Ru without saying a word.
Upon seeing him, Ye Ru immediately feigned surprise and said to Gao Yalan:
"Mom, we were just talking about Dad when he came home. Isn't that a coincidence?"
Gao Yalan smiled slightly, "Yes, what a coincidence."
She turned to look at Ye Haiming, only to find him standing at the door with a gloomy expression, which made her unable to help but ask:
"Honey, you're back? What happened to you? You look terrible."
Ye Haiming shifted his gaze away from Ye Ru, his expression gradually softening.
"I'm fine, I probably just caught a bit of a cold."
"The weather has been a bit cold lately, remember to wear more clothes so you don't catch a cold."
Gao Yalan couldn't help but give Ye Haiming careful instructions, completely unaware of the unusual interaction between Ye Haiming and his daughter Ye Ru.
Gao Yalan was completely unaware of the fact that Ye Ru and Ye Ting were secretly together, that Ye Ting was stabbed by Sheng Tianxiang, and that Ye Haiming used Ye Ru as a bargaining chip to give to Fang Jinwen.

Ye Haiming nodded, then walked straight to Ye Ru and, suppressing his anger, asked her, "Where have you been these past few days?"
Ye Ru trembled slightly, suppressing her fear, and replied with a smile, "I went to a friend's house for a few days."
"Oh? Which friend?" Ye Haiming narrowed his eyes and continued to ask.
Without hesitation, Ye Ru replied, "It's that girl named Liu Yuanyuan, the one you know."

He had already asked the police to investigate, and Ye Ru was not at Liu Yuanyuan's house at all!

Ye Ru feigned shyness and replied, "Mom, who said I don't worry about my marriage? Actually, I already have someone I like..."
Upon hearing this, Ye Haiming's heart skipped a beat. He raised his eyes and stared intently at Ye Ru, his eyes full of warning, fearing that she might say something shocking that would provoke Gao Yalan.
Ye Ru pretended not to see it and said to herself, "When he has time, I'll bring him back for you to take a look, how about that?"

Gao Yalan was very happy, and then she asked with some curiosity, "Xiaoru, which family's boy do you like? Does Mom know him?"
Ye Ru feigned shyness and said, "You'll know when I bring it back and show it to you, won't you?"

Ye Haiming's eyes grew even colder, but Gao Yalan, oblivious to her husband's expression, smiled and said:
"Look at what you're saying, child. As long as it's someone you like, your father will definitely not object."
