After my divorce, I became the daughter of a billionaire. (37)

Ye Huanhuan has been feeling very unwell lately, feeling extremely tired both day and night.

She attributed this to not being used to the local environment; after all, she had never enjoyed such leisure time before.

As the saying goes, people tend to become increasingly lazy when they have nothing to do, and this is certainly true.

Forty days after Ye Huanhuan returned to the Ye family, Ye Haiming and his wife finally brought Ye Ru back to the country. After returning to the Ye family villa, Gao Yalan instructed the servants to carry the luggage home and was extremely busy.

Ye Huanhuan was fast asleep in her room when the maid came to her room and told her that Ye Haiming and his wife had brought Ye Ru and Ye Ting back. Only then did she get up, dress herself up a little, and go downstairs.

Upon seeing Ye Huanhuan, Gao Yalan immediately stepped forward and embraced her. After a long sigh, she pointed to the piles of beautifully wrapped gift boxes on the ground and said:

"Huanhuan, these are all gifts I brought for you."

Ye Ru stood quietly to the side, like an outsider, watching the touching scene of the mother and daughter's reunion, her heart aching as if being torn apart.

Sure enough, no matter how hard she tried, she could not replace that deep-rooted blood relationship.

However, Ye Ru didn't reveal anything. A faint smile remained on her face, and she behaved very gracefully and politely, even taking the initiative to greet Ye Huanhuan.

"Mom, this must be my little sister, right? She's so beautiful, she looks exactly like you when you were young."

Gao Yalan released Ye Huanhuan from her embrace, looked at Ye Huanhuan tenderly, and then turned to Ye Ru to introduce her:

"Xiaoru, this is your younger sister Huanhuan. Mom also thinks she looks a lot like me when I was young, especially her eyes."

As she spoke, Gao Yalan slowly reached out and gently stroked Ye Huanhuan's eyes, her gaze filled with endless affection.

Ye Huanhuan turned her gaze to Ye Ru beside her. Ye Ru had delicate features, beautiful eyebrows and eyes, fair skin, and a tall figure. She wore rimless glasses and exuded a faint scholarly air, radiating an intellectual beauty from the inside out.

She smiled and greeted Ye Ru warmly, "Hello, sister."

Ye Ru took Ye Huanhuan's hand, her eyes full of concern.

"Huanhuan, you must have suffered a lot these past years. Now that you're finally home, are you getting used to life here?"

Ye Huanhuan subtly withdrew her hand from the other person's, a detached and indifferent smile on her face, and replied:

"Yes, everything is fine at home, and I'm adapting quickly. Thank you for your concern, sister."

Ye Ru seemed to suddenly remember something. She turned around and instructed the servant behind her:

"Bring me the gift I prepared."

Soon, the maid brought over an exquisite gift box containing a blue gemstone necklace the size of a pigeon's egg. The gemstone shone brightly, dazzling and clearly of great value.

Holding the gemstone gift box, Ye Ru greeted Ye Huanhuan warmly:

"Huanhuan, this necklace is something I bought at a jewelry auction in Y country. The sapphire on it is a world-famous benitoite gemstone, worth as much as 30 million. Consider this a gift from your older sister to you. Look, your neck is bare, shall I help you put it on?"

As she spoke, she opened the box, carefully picked up the sapphire necklace, and prepared to put it on Ye Huan.

Ye Huanhuan stared blankly at the dazzling sapphire, and shook her head without hesitation, refusing:

"No need, sister, this gift is far too valuable, I cannot accept it."

Ye Ru had been a member of the Ye family for over twenty years, and now she was given such a valuable gift upon their first meeting. How could she possibly accept it?

“Little sister, even the most precious things are worthy of you. You are a daughter of the Ye family and deserve the best things in the world.” Ye Ru replied with a smile, slowly walking towards where Ye Huanhuan was standing.

"I really can't accept this, thank you for your kindness, sister." Ye Huanhuan still refused and took a step back.

Ye Ru's hand awkwardly froze in mid-air; she hadn't expected Ye Huanhuan to refuse her repeatedly.

"Child, this is from your sister, so just take it," Gao Yalan said, trying to smooth things over.

"Yes, Huanhuan, your sister will be sad if you don't accept it." Ye Ru quickly composed herself and handed the necklace over again.

Seeing that Gao Yalan had already spoken, Ye Huanhuan felt too embarrassed to continue refusing, so she could only nod in agreement and sincerely express her gratitude to Ye Ru.

Ye Ru carefully helped Ye Huanhuan put on the necklace, her eyes sparkling with surprise, and she couldn't help but exclaim in amazement:

"Little sister, you look absolutely gorgeous! This necklace is practically made just for you."

Ye Ru's praise brought a shy smile to Ye Huanhuan's face, and she softly replied:

"Thank you, sister."

Seeing how well the two sisters got along, Gao Yalan felt incredibly gratified. Before returning to China, she had been worried that Ye Ru and Ye Huanhuan wouldn't get along, but now it seemed her worries were unfounded.

Just then, Ye Haiming led Ye Ting into the villa. When he saw the mother and her two daughters gathered together, a joyful smile immediately appeared on his face.

Then, he walked up to Ye Huanhuan and solemnly announced, "Huanhuan, Dad plans to hold a grand banquet at the largest hotel in S City in ten days. This banquet is partly to celebrate your sister receiving her doctorate, and partly to officially reveal your true identity to everyone. Many powerful and influential figures in S City will be invited. Therefore, Dad hopes you can seize this opportunity to make some new friends and expand your social network."
