Extra 01 Wen Zhe

Ever since Wang Shuyao left S City without warning and returned to the capital, Wen Zhe has seemed to have lost his soul, and has been absent-minded all day long.

Whether he was teaching in the classroom or at home, he would think of Wang Shuyao, and sometimes he would unconsciously stare at the seat where Wang Shuyao used to sit, lost in thought.

On another occasion, he stood at his doorstep for nearly half an hour in a daze, his mind filled with thoughts of Wang Shuyao.

What alarmed him even more was that during one class, he inexplicably called on Wang Shuyao to stand up and answer a question!

At that moment, time seemed to freeze, and the entire classroom fell into complete silence.

All the students in the classroom looked at him with strange eyes, as if they were sharp arrows piercing straight into his heart.

In that instant, he felt an unprecedented sense of panic.

Making such a basic mistake in front of everyone was unprecedented for someone as meticulous and serious as him.

Finally, he could only force himself to remain calm and cough lightly a few times before quickly sending another student to answer the question, in an attempt to cover up his earlier lapse in composure and his indescribable embarrassment.

However, although he appeared to have returned to calm on the surface, a storm was brewing deep inside him.

Finally, he had to face a fact.

He didn't know when it started, but Wang Shuyao had already occupied a very important place in his heart.

However, he was unwilling to confront this feeling directly, let alone express it openly.

After that, he threw himself into his busy work as if he had gone mad.

It seems that only through this almost insane method can the enormous emptiness in his heart caused by Wang Shuyao's sudden departure be filled.

Even his older sister, Wen Ya, noticed his unusual behavior and even told him to go find Wang Shuyao.

That's ridiculous. He doesn't even like that woman. Why would he want to see her?

Until one day, he accidentally saw Wang Shuyao's comeback announcement video on his computer. His heartstrings were touched, and he stood there, unable to come back to his senses for a long time.

Wang Shuyao in the video looks thinner.

His eyes were not as bright as before.

Wen Zhe stared intently at the screen, his heart filled with mixed emotions.

He had thought that working hard would help him forget her, but now it seemed that he was just fooling himself.

Wang Shuyao's image kept appearing in his mind; her every smile and frown was impossible to shake off.

"What's wrong with me...?"

Wen Zhe muttered to himself, his hand unconsciously dialing Wang Shuyao's number.

But all he got in response was a busy signal.

Yes, he had been blocked by Wang Shuyao a long time ago, and now he couldn't contact her at all.

Wen Zhe slowly put down his phone, feeling a pang of disappointment.

He suddenly realized that he might really have fallen in love with Wang Shuyao.

He had been running away from this fact, but now he could no longer deceive his own heart.

He decided to go find Wang Shuyao; no matter what, he had to figure out his feelings for her.

He submitted his resignation to the school, and Principal Yu tried his best to persuade him to stay.

However, he had already made up his mind, and Principal Yu had no choice but to give up in the end.

On the day he resigned, he packed his bags briefly, bought the next available flight, and went to Beijing.

The capital city was not unfamiliar to him.

The Wen family is renowned as a family of scholars passed down through generations. His father was a highly respected master of Chinese classical studies, and many of his former favorite students lived in Beijing.

He already knew Wang Shuyao's true identity.

So, relying on his father's past connections, he successfully contacted one of the students and, through this intermediary, got in touch with Mr. Wang.

The Wang family had naturally heard of Wen Zhe's father's great reputation.

When he learned that Wen Zhe was coming to visit, Old Master Wang's attitude was rather cold and even somewhat displeased.

The reason was simple: he already knew perfectly well that the one who had caused his beloved granddaughter to spend her days in tears was none other than that brat Wen Zhe.

Thinking of this, Old Master Wang couldn't help but feel a surge of anger.

When Wen Zhe arrived at the Wang family, he was met with a cold reception from Old Master Wang. If it weren't for the sake of Wen Zhe's father, he would probably have been served a cane long ago.

"You brat! Didn't you dislike our Shuyao? What are you doing here at the Wang family? Let me tell you, Shuyao is already engaged to Yun Shen, and they're having their engagement banquet in two months. I advise you not to disturb her life!"

After saying that, Old Master Wang snorted coldly, his attitude unusually indifferent.

Upon hearing this, Wen Zhe was struck dumb, but he quickly regained his composure and calmly replied:

"Grandpa Wang, even married couples get divorced. It's just an engagement, it's not a big deal."

"What a boastful tone!"

Old Master Wang was so angry that his beard stood on end.

Who do you think you are?

Wen Zhe looked at Grandpa Wang and calmly replied, "I'm just an ordinary person who makes mistakes. I know it was all my fault back then. I didn't cherish Shu Yao enough. I just hope that Shu Yao can give me another chance to make amends."

Old Master Wang sneered, "Sincere? If you truly loved Shuyao, why did you treat her that way back then? Do you know how many tears she shed for you?"

Wen Zhe's eyes showed remorse. "I know I was wrong. Grandpa Wang, for my father's sake, could you let Shuyao come out to see me? I want to apologize to Shuyao in person..."

"If it weren't for your father's sake, I would have sent someone to give you a good beating, you brat!"

Old Master Wang said bitterly, then waved his hand, dismissing him.

"Go away, I won't believe you. Shuyao won't want to see you either."
