He became famous

He became famous

Ling Jingchu looked at the two of them coldly, without saying a word.

This scene almost instantly dragged Jiang Yunshu back to those days in her childhood memories.

She and Jiang Shuyue were not afraid of the elders in their family, but they were terrified of the two older brothers who were only a few years older than them.

Having been punished by Jiang Yunzheng and Ling Jingchu countless times since childhood, he is now instinctively afraid whenever he encounters this situation.

"Well... well... Jiang Yunshu insisted I bring this to her, look what this mess has become!"

Jiang Yunshu opened her eyes angrily and glared at her fiercely: Jiang Shuyue, you spineless traitor!

Jiang Shuyue pursed her lips, looked away, and stopped looking at her.

She also felt that heavy, icy gaze fall on her, and slowly raised her eyes to look at Ling Jingchu, whose face was cold.

A faint sense of oppression made her feel uneasy, and the pain in her body surfaced. She frowned and hissed softly.

"It hurts so much..."

The icy aura surrounding Ling Jingchu quickly dissipated. He stepped forward in a few strides and asked in a hoarse voice, "Where do you feel unwell? Should I ask Doctor Li to prescribe two more doses of medicine?"

Jiang Shuyue's eyes lit up with admiration, and she even gave her two thumbs up.

While Ling Jingchu walked forward, Jiang Shuyue bent down and picked up the storybook, then casually placed it on the table.

She looked quite pleased.

But the person in front of her had no intention of making her move, and stood firmly in front of her.

Even though Ling Jingchu wasn't far away, separated by the bed curtains, she could still clearly see the expression on his face.

Ling Jingchu's eyes were full of worry, just like before. Perhaps it was because of the life-saving bond, or perhaps it was because they were childhood sweethearts. Ling Jingchu had always treated her this way since she was a child.

When she was young, Ling Jingchu would be extremely anxious whenever she was injured.

If she couldn't write her homework, she was simply allowed to copy it.

Sometimes, they would even turn a blind eye to her and Jiang Shuyue sneaking out of the house, and would even cover for them.

Therefore, her feelings for Ling Jingchu were more complicated; she was a little afraid of him, but also a little dependent on him.

Unlike her feelings towards Jiang Yunzheng, which were simply out of fear.

When the pain started, her whole body ached, as if her entire body was screaming at the thought of pain.

She nodded without any hesitation: "It hurts everywhere, I feel like I'm about to die..."

Ling Jingchu's brows furrowed even more, his brow bones pressed low: "I'll go call Doctor Li."

She forced a weak nod, and only reached out to Jiang Shuyue after Ling Jingchu left the room.

"Quickly bring me my miraculous medicine."

The faint worry in Jiang Shuyue's eyes faded, and she rolled her eyes.

"Jiang Yunshu, you can only fool Ling Jingchu." He handed her the storybook. "Speaking of Ling Jingchu, he hasn't learned his lesson all these years, he's still so easy to fool!"

She grinned and opened "The Cold Prince and His Pretty Maid".

Jiang Shuyue sat for a while longer before leaving. Only after Qing Shuang was left in the room did she relax.

Actually, it wasn't entirely a lie; she was really in pain.

After taking the medicine, I felt like my internal organs were burning, which was very uncomfortable, and I had no energy.

This was the first time she had discovered that storybooks couldn't help her forget her pain.

No matter how alluring the plot, she couldn't get into it. The words were like unfamiliar combinations of words; she had no patience for them and didn't want to read them.

"Miss, why is your face red...?"

Qing Shuang stared at her in shock, and she looked back blankly.

"Miss, wait a moment, I'll go get Doctor Li to come and take a look, something seems wrong!"

Qing Shuang rushed out, completely forgetting that Ling Jingchu had also gone to fetch Doctor Li...

Ayao had already been taken to rest, and now she was all alone in the room. She wanted to see her own face, but she didn't have the strength to go to the dressing table.

But she was stunned the moment she raised her hand; her entire arm was red!

And breathing has become a bit difficult!

Just as she was filled with fear, the doorway became noisy, and hurried, noisy footsteps approached her.

"Ah Yun, what's wrong with you..."

"How could this happen? Didn't she take the medicine?"

Ruan Qingshang also came along. When he saw her like this, tears immediately streamed down his face.

With a serious expression, Dr. Li quickly stepped forward, draped a silk scarf over her neck, and took her pulse.

Ling Jingchu's eyes deepened, and a hint of ruthlessness and murderous intent flashed across them.

Jiang Yunshu was unable to speak. Her body was burning with pain, her chest felt tight, and her head was spinning. She couldn't even hear a few of what Dr. Li was saying.

All I could hear was Dr. Li cursing in a calm tone; he probably wasn't using any nice words.

When she was feeling particularly dizzy, she suddenly thought of something: the storybook she had on hand.

She flipped through a few pages, and it's still sitting there casually beside her.

My life is over!

Besides their voices, there were other noises around her. She couldn't tell what they were, but she knew they were very noisy.

The noise made her want to sleep.

I'm so tired.

She slowly closed her eyes, and the uncomfortable feelings from her dream disappeared.

There was a large, cool block of ice in front of her to hug, and refreshing ice cream to eat.

So comfortable.

This ice cream wasn't very sweet, though; she still preferred sweet things.

Ah Yao is the same. In the past, eating ice cream was an extremely luxurious thing in the Marquis's mansion. Now that she's back, she wants Ah Yao to be able to eat it every day.

Just then, Ayao arrived.

She casually picked up a bowl of ice cream: "Ayao, eat some more."

For some reason, Ayao just shook her head, her face full of rejection.

She grew anxious and fed the ice cream cheese to Yao Yao, saying, "Isn't this Yao Yao's favorite? Eat up! We're not in the Marquis's mansion anymore, so Mother can buy Yao Yao lots and lots of delicious food!"

Ayao pursed her lips tightly and shook her head, refusing to open her mouth no matter what.

She was sweating profusely, eager to feed it to Ayao.

But Ah Yao struggled desperately, and she woke up in a panic. When she saw the person in front of her, her anxiety vanished instantly.

...

Ling Jingchu looked at her with his cold eyes. She forcibly pulled him back, one hand pressing down on his chest, the other hand stuffing a storybook into his mouth.

He seemed to struggle a bit, because his collar was already wide open.

She didn't know where she got the strength, but she pressed Ling Jingchu down beneath her. At this distance, she could clearly see the skin on Ling Jingchu's face.

Ling Jingchu was very fair-skinned with deep-set brow bones and thick eyebrows. Beneath them were a pair of alluring peach blossom eyes. Even though these eyes often carried a sense of aloofness and coldness, it did not prevent them from being subtly seductive.

Her nose was high and straight, and her thin lips were tightly pressed together, but still revealed a faint sheen of moisture.

You can see the beautiful lines of his chest without even shifting your gaze.

With her hand pressed against his chest, she could even feel the warmth emanating from Ling Jingchu through the thin fabric of his clothes.

Warm...

"Jiang Yunshu, do you remember that I was also a patient?"

The aloof tone immediately stopped the jumbled thoughts in her mind, and she stood up.

Unable to find a foothold, she pressed down hard on Ling Jingchu's chest again.

A low groan sounded in my ear, his chest heaving violently, his brow furrowed, as if he were in great pain.

She quickly rolled over and lay down on the pillow, her body covered in sweat.

Ling Jingchu was tidying up her clothes by her bedside, and the rustling sound brought her back to her senses.

She tilted her head: "What are you doing here?"

Ling Jingchu slowly and methodically straightened his collar with her slender arms. Upon hearing this, he seemed to chuckle in disbelief.

He didn't say anything, just looked at her with that ambiguous, half-smiling expression.

She blinked, then turned her head away, no longer looking at him.

I stopped asking.

It's highly likely that Ling Jingchu brought her medicine, but she insisted on staying.

She suddenly raised her hand to look at it, and lo and behold, it wasn't red anymore!

"Dr. Li re-decocted the medicine. It was an allergic reaction to cosmetics before, and now he has re-prescribed the medicine."

She herself found it unbelievable; when she became so famous, she thought she was going to die.

"Jiang Yunshu, why did you..."

"Ling Jingchu, you wrote the nursery rhyme, didn't you?"

Ling Jingchu paused and gave a soft "hmm".

"I'm sorry, I've dragged you into an abyss."

Ling Jingchu's eyes were deep and unfathomable. She had regained her strength and was no longer in pain. She managed to sit up with difficulty.

Ling Jingchu had already gotten up and sat on a small stool some distance away from the bed.

Do you know who tried to assassinate you this time?

Jiang Yunshu looked at him, feeling guilty again. In the end, this matter had nothing to do with Ling Jingchu.

In both his lifetimes, he had gotten into these troubles because of the Jiang family.

"I'll be leaving next spring for the imperial examinations, and whoever it is, it has nothing to do with you."

No, it has something to do with her.

She smiled and shook her head.

The Marquis wants her dead, and Consort Li wants to eliminate her rivals.

She was determined not to let them have their way.

“Ling Jingchu, all of this is related to me. Ever since my divorce, this matter has been related to me.”

"I don't want to stay in the Marquis's mansion because I had a dream. In the dream, the Jiang family was destroyed and everyone died. Ayao was tortured by the Marquis and the Third Prince."

"I don't want to repeat the same mistakes."

"Ling Jingchu, are you willing to help me?"

She became more serious; these things had been weighing on her mind for a long time, and she had no one to confide in.

No one could help her.

But Ling Jingchu was different. She knew about Ling Jingchu's later achievements; he was the pillar of the Crown Prince's faction.

His death also hastened the downfall of the princeling faction.

She wants to save the Jiang family, save A Yao, and save Ling Jingchu.

Since he was destined to be involved in this situation, she might as well pull him in advance to make arrangements.

Life and death are both things you can earn yourself.

Ling Jingchu stared at her for a long time, his eyes deep, as if he were pondering her words or examining her mental state.

She didn't say anything more, she just waited.

After an unknown amount of time, Ling Jingchu nodded without saying a word.

She suddenly felt a weight lifted from her heart.

Su Ye's voice came from outside the door.

"Young master, young master, the medicine has just been brewed, please take it quickly!"

Su Ye called out from the doorway, and Qing Shuang arrived at some point, bringing in his medicine for Ling Jingchu.

“Young Master Ling, there’s someone outside who says he’s your distant cousin. His family has suffered a disaster, and he’s come to Jiangnan to seek refuge with you.”

Jiang Yunshu was puzzled. Ling Jingchu was not a distant relative. If he were, would it be the Jiang family's turn to support him?

Just as he was about to speak, Ling Jingchu raised an eyebrow, seemingly quite interested.

"oh?"
