Chapter 105 What are you really thinking?

Xiaohua felt that Zhou Musheng was mocking her, but she couldn't find any evidence to prove that he was mocking her.

This was the first time Zhou Musheng had spoken to her in such a sarcastic tone.

This made Xiaohua feel extremely uncomfortable.

Perhaps because she received so much help from him, Xiaohua had become accustomed to bowing down to him in front of him.

Even if he said something, Xiaohuahua wouldn't refute it, or rather, she wouldn't dare to refute it.

"Hello, Mr. Zhou, it's nice to see you again. It's true that Shanghai is not big enough; we can't believe we've bumped into each other here."

Zhou Musheng gave a forced smile: "Perhaps, it's fate."

He Yan's smile was forced and insincere.

"Who can argue with that?"

"Mr. Zhou has been very helpful to my daughter Xiaohua all along. I wonder if Mr. Zhou would be free sometime? I would like to treat Mr. Zhou to a meal as a way of thanking him for his help to my daughter Xiaohua over the years."

He Yan's words, referring to "our little flower" repeatedly, sounded like he was asserting his ownership.

“Our family? Mr. He, your choice of words seems a bit inappropriate. As far as I know, you and Xiaohua have been divorced for quite some time now, so there’s no need to use the phrase ‘our family’!” At this moment, Zhou Musheng acted like a three-year-old child, determined to argue with the other party to prove himself right.

He Yan's face fell; he felt defeated and powerless to refute.

"Zhou Xun, the movie we're going to see is about to start, let's go in."

After speaking to his son, Zhou Musheng took the movie tickets and walked forward without even glancing at Xiaohua again.

Xiaohua still felt like she had made a mistake and wanted to run over and apologize to him, but thankfully reason prevailed over impulse, and she remained rooted to the spot, not taking another step forward.

"Teacher Ye, I'll go in first." Zhou Xun said to Xiao Hua politely before leaving.

Xiaohua nodded: "Go inside quickly!"

After the father and son had walked far away, Xiaohua took Kang An's hand and strode forward, not wanting to pay any attention to He Yan. He Yan caught up with her in two steps, grabbed Xiaohua's arm, and Xiaohua shook her off.

"Calm down, the child is still here," He Yan reminded him promptly.

Xiaohua wasn't frowning anymore.

"I don't think I did anything wrong, did I?"

He Yan was indignant.

“I’m not wrong to you, I just don’t want to talk to you, am I wrong?” Xiaohua retorted.

He Yan nodded helplessly: "You did nothing wrong. This is your personal right. I can't force you to do anything for me."

When they went inside to watch the movie, apart from the child who watched attentively, Xiao Hua and He Yan didn't seem to be paying attention at all; it's clear that both of them had their own ulterior motives.

Huiyan and Xiaohua both felt that the movie was so long. It was only one hour and thirty-five minutes long, but it felt like ten hours and thirty-five minutes. It was so long and torturous.

On the way back, Xiaohua remained silent, mainly because she didn't want to talk to He Yan.

Kang An was being held by Xiao Hua, his little head buried in Xiao Hua's shoulder, and he had already happily drifted off to sleep.

Xiao Hua gently patted her back with one hand, and softly hummed her favorite lullaby, accompanying the child sweetly into sleep.

He Yan sat in the driver's seat, thinking of the mother and daughter in the back seat, and drove the car more and more steadily.

I was afraid that a bump in the car would shatter this warm and peaceful scene of happiness for the family of three.

In fact, judging from the current scene alone, they really are a happy family of three, but unfortunately, this is just an illusion.

He Yan felt a mix of emotions whenever he thought of Zhou Musheng, whom he had encountered at the movie theater.

Sigh, sometimes I really don't understand why he has such bad luck. All he wanted to do was watch a movie with the person he loves and their beloved child, and he still had to run into people he shouldn't have.

A perfectly good movie has become unpleasant. Apart from the children, I'm afraid everyone in the movie theater was sitting on pins and needles!

Especially when Xiaohua met Zhou Musheng, her awkward, flustered and uneasy behavior seemed to make him feel that it was a mistake for Xiaohua to watch a movie with him and the child.

It seems that Xiaohua is Zhou Musheng's woman. She was going out on a date with another man behind her man's back, and he caught her red-handed. It has the feel of catching someone in the act.

This made He Yan very unhappy.

He Yan felt increasingly frustrated and resentful.

He Yan sometimes wondered what kind of relationship Xiao Hua and Zhou Musheng actually had.

They're more than just friends; they're not quite lovers. They're just stuck in this ambiguous relationship, like they're just one step away from breaking through the final barrier.

He thought Xiao Hua must have already expressed her feelings to Zhou Musheng, after all, Xiao Hua was a decisive and efficient person.

But it's highly likely that Zhou Musheng rejected him. So what does Zhou Musheng mean now?

He doesn't want to be with Xiaohua, but he's unwilling to let go of her and keeps her hanging on from time to time.

He Yan actually disliked men like that. If you like someone, you like them; if you don't like someone, you don't like them. What's the point of all this ambiguity?

Everyone was unhappy with the mess.

What are your thoughts?

The big question in his mind kept nagging at him, making him uncomfortable and irritated.

In the end, I couldn't help myself and finally asked.

"What do you mean, 'what are you thinking'? I don't understand what you're saying?"

"You really don't understand what I'm saying, or you just don't want to tell me? What exactly is your relationship with that Mr. Zhou? It's not like friends, not like lovers. You're both adults—no, he's a middle-aged man, and you're a young woman."

I don't understand how you two got along so well. Okay, if you got along, then why aren't you together? Is there some obstacle between you two? Or is Mr. Zhou not actually divorced?

He Yan admitted that he said that partly out of spite, and partly to deliberately annoy Xiao Hua.

He seemed to be deliberately provoking Xiaohua.

"Are you the Pacific police? Why are you meddling in everything? What does this have to do with you? Mind your own business. My affairs are none of your concern. And you have even less right to interfere in my affairs with Mr. Zhou. We are already divorced. You just need to be responsible for your children and take care of them. I don't need you to interfere."

Xiaohua was still annoyed with him.

"Heh, do you think I want to control you? After all, you're still my child's biological mother! I don't want you to do anything that will embarrass our child in the future. It's your business if you date men, but if you're going to interfere in someone else's marriage or family, that's our child's business. If you're doing these things, you're making our child unable to hold their head up, so as the child's biological father, I have the right to interfere."
