Chapter 174 Where is the Dragon King?

Madam Yao did not rush to send Su Xuerong over, but instead had someone redo her makeup and dress her up.

Su Xuerong looked at the gorgeous swirling dress in the peephole and frowned slightly: "When was this dress made?"

Why did it fit her so well?

Madam Yao smiled and said, "There are also clothing shops on the island. This was made by an old servant after taking Madam's measurements on the day she arrived."

Su Xuerong was quite surprised: "A ready-made clothing shop?"

This is incredibly fast! She's only been here for less than ten days, and such a magnificent dress has already been made so quickly, with embroidery skills that are in no way inferior to those of the palace embroiderers.

This is so strange...

Su Xuerong didn't think much of it; she really wanted to meet this Dragon King and see if he was really Ge Cong'an.

Xiuchun stayed in the house to take care of Yuanjie.

To prevent Yuan'er from making a fuss about going to the front hall with Su Xuerong, Madam Yao specially arranged for several maids to accompany the little girl to the swings.

As Su Xuerong headed towards the front hall, a snow-white figure circled around from the back path.

The sound of a little girl giggling came from the swing in the garden.

The snow-white figure paused briefly before turning and walking deeper into the garden.

Yuan-jie didn't even notice anyone coming over; she just urged the sturdy maid holding her, "Aunt Zhou, swing higher!"

Aunt Zhou hurriedly said, "My little darling, this won't do! If you fall, I'll be punished!"

Yao appeared kind, but her methods were quite harsh.

Anyone under her command who makes a mistake will be punished, regardless of whether they have a good relationship with her.

Madam Yao had specifically instructed that this beautiful and charming Madam Su might become the Dragon King's wife in the future, and therefore, by extension, her daughter should not be neglected.

Yuanjie was very unhappy, because no one here could swing as high as her father!

Suddenly, she saw someone walking out of the moon gate.

This person was dressed in a snow-white robe, tall and slender, and the hem of his robe swayed in the wind as gracefully as the tail of a goldfish in a palace pond...

But Yuan Jie was stunned by this person's face.

His face was hideous and terrifying, and he even had two horns on his dark blue head, making him look like the monster in the stories his mother told him!

When Xiuchun belatedly looked back, she felt as if all the blood in her body had frozen.

This face—no, this mask—is absolutely terrifying!

When Aunt Zhou and the others saw the newcomers, they were so frightened that they took Yuan'er off the swing, knelt on the ground, and said tremblingly, "Greetings, Dragon King!"

Yuan Jie tilted her head and looked ahead: "You are the Dragon King?"

These days, she has heard her mother mention this Dragon King quite often.

The man walked slowly forward, exuding an aura of authority.

The moment Xiuchun knelt down, it felt as if she had returned to the palace to pay her respects to Xiao Yuan.

But this man was even more terrifying than Xiao Yuan, especially the dragon-shaped mask on his head.

Just as everyone was on tenterhooks, they heard the little girl say in her childish voice, "My mother said there are four dragon kings in the sea. Which dragon king are you?"

Xiuchun inwardly felt a sense of foreboding.

Wasn't Her Majesty just taken to the front hall to see the Dragon King? Why did he suddenly come to the garden?

All the servants were startled by Yuan-jie'er's bold question and dared not utter a sound.

To everyone's surprise, the Dragon King seemed quite interested: "Oh? What else did your mother teach you?"

Yuanjie said, "My mother said that the Dragon King should live in the Dragon Palace, and you are not the Dragon King!"

Xiuchun felt her scalp tingle from hearing this.

Grandma, this is not the palace, this is Dongli Island, the Dragon King's territory!

If you really anger him, no one would dare to say a word even if he killed all three of them!

She hurriedly and timidly reached out her hand to Sister Yuan: "Sister Yuan, let's stop playing and go home..."

She then discovered that the Dragon King was looking at her, his deep eyes gleaming with a cold light.

Xiuchun trembled with fear, but still forced herself to say, "Dragon King, my young lady is ignorant. If she has angered you, please be merciful..."

"Do you think I would argue with a little girl?" the man opposite him sneered.

He suddenly walked over to Yuan Jie'er, bent down and looked at her: "Do you want to swing on the swing, swing high?"

Yuan-jie nodded excitedly, "Yes!"

The Dragon King chuckled, picked up Yuan Jie'er, and sat her on the swing. With just a gentle push, the swing swung high into the air.

Xiuchun was so frightened that she turned pale, but she didn't dare to step forward to stop it.

Aunt Zhou and the others stood by, too afraid to move, their faces expressionless.

Yuan Jie'er was completely unaware of the intimidating presence of the man behind her. After swinging a few times, she suddenly burst into excited giggles.

The swing swung high, and the little one sitting in the man's lap felt like she was sitting in her father's lap...

This was the first scene Su Xuerong saw as she entered the moon gate.

She even felt as if she had returned to the imperial palace in the capital, to her familiar home...

But she was quickly brought back to her senses by the man's face when he turned around!

He is not Xiao Yuan!

He is the Dragon King of Dongli!

When the Dragon King carried Yuan'er down from the swing, Madam Yao hurriedly knelt on the ground: "This old servant greets the Dragon King."

Su Xuerong frowned slightly; she did not kneel.

After all, she was the daughter of the Great Zhou Dynasty and could not easily kneel before anyone.

The Dragon King before them was tall and jade-like, with an air of otherworldly elegance, but the hideous, dark blue dragon head mask greatly detracted from his appearance.

Xiuchun, who was standing nearby, quickly hugged Yuanjie in her arms and breathed a long sigh of relief.
