Bai Nuo drove the car her grandmother had given her back to the Huan'an Branch. When she left, Wei Wen packed a lot of things in the back seat for her, including five bags of milk powder, five cans of malted milk powder, and a lot of candy and snacks. Basically, it was all stuff that could fit in the house.
There was also a large bag of clothes, all the latest styles favored by young women in Kyoto and Shanghai. As some of his uncles put it, they all earned decent salaries, lived at home, didn't smoke or drink, so there was no point in keeping their money; giving it to her would prevent it from going to waste.
Because of the large and small bags in the back seat, Bai Nuo had to go back to the dormitory building behind the police family compound first. On the way back, she took the alley to the left of the dormitory building. The alley was relatively wide and police cars often went in, so Bai Nuo could park the car directly downstairs in front of the dormitory building.
After moving everything upstairs and tidying it up, Bai Nuo finally breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, no one came to install the refrigerator, otherwise there would probably have been more than just these things. Her Uncle Wen really wanted to move the whole house to her house.
When Qiu Jun rushed back to change his clothes, he saw that the window and door of the room next door were open. He quickly turned around, walked over, and knocked on the door.
"Captain Qiu?"
Bai Nuo had just hung all the clothes she had brought back into the closet when she heard a noise and came out from the inner room, where she saw Captain Qiu standing at the door.
Bai Nuo glanced at the somewhat disheveled captain and raised an eyebrow: "Did something happen?"
However, despite his disheveled appearance, Qiu Jun couldn't hide his excitement. He said happily, "We caught him! This time we caught him in just three days! By the way, Ya Nan was just about to call your school to ask you to come back. Perfect timing! Hurry up and change out of your uniform and come back to the station with me. We'll have a meeting together."
"Okay, right away!" Bai Nuo nodded quickly, turned around and went back to the inner room to change her clothes.
On her first day reporting to the Environmental Security Branch, she received two new sets of criminal police uniforms. Because she belonged to the Criminal Investigation Technology Section, in addition to the police uniforms, she was also assigned two white lab coats. Usually, those two white lab coats were kept in the Technology Section's office, and someone from the Technology Department would help clean them regularly.
But she brought the police uniform back and has kept it hanging properly in the closet ever since.
The criminal investigation police uniform jacket is made of dark blue polyester-cotton fabric, retaining the style of the Type 66 military casual uniform. It has a stand-up collar, five metallic gray five-pointed star buttons on the front, two flap pockets on the chest, and a large welt pocket on each side of the hem.
The bottoms are navy blue straight-leg trousers with no side embellishments, matching the color of the top.
The peaked caps worn by criminal investigation officers differ from those worn by traffic police. Criminal investigators still wear dark blue Liberation caps, and they no longer have shoulder insignia or chest badges, only red velvet collar tabs, without any metal shield-shaped insignia.
After Bai Nuo changed into her police uniform, she looked at herself in the dressing mirror on the wardrobe door and suddenly felt that something was different about her.
When she was in Fuxing County, she had been in charge of two sets of police uniforms, but unfortunately she never wore them after receiving them, and never really took a good look at herself in them.
It was as if a filter called "justice" had been suddenly added to the whole person, as if the whole person had been bio-engineered, and a sense of reliability had been added.
Is this what people often refer to as the allure bestowed by official uniforms?
Bai Nuo slightly curved her lips, bent down to change into a pair of black soft leather shoes, and fastened the holster that the criminal police team had given her on her belt.
He then turned around and walked out.
Qiu Jun returned by bicycle. He had led a team out yesterday afternoon to carry out the arrest. They lay in ambush all night and finally caught the person at around 4 a.m. The other party had extremely strong counter-surveillance capabilities. In order to catch the person, he directly threw himself into a cement pit.
Because the family compound is very close to the Public Security Bureau, the bureau only has a warehouse converted into a communal rest room. He has been so busy lately that he hasn't had time to do laundry, so he had to run back to change his clothes. Unexpectedly, he ran into Bai Nuo, who had just returned.
Qiu Jun's bicycle was stored in the parking shed downstairs in the dormitory building. When he went back, he rode in Bai Nuo's car. After getting in, Qiu Jun still felt a little abnormal.
He was the one who helped Bai Nuo submit her backyard parking space application to the bureau chief. At the time, he guessed that Bai Nuo's family must be extraordinary, otherwise they wouldn't have provided a car for a girl who was only seventeen years old.
This must be an incredibly indulgent family, and there are very few families in Kyoto with that kind of resources and background.
However, Qiu Jun also thought that the car that Bai Nuo's family provided for her was an old model that had been retired by an elder in the family who was an official. Some senior officials who held high positions in the military and government would be provided with special vehicles by the state because they had made significant and outstanding contributions to the country and the people. It was basically equivalent to the state giving them the vehicles, and they did not need to return them to the state even after retirement.
Therefore, Qiu Jun assumed that the car Bai Nuo drove back was a new car that a high-ranking elder in the family had acquired, and that was why the old car that had been retired was given to the favored junior.
but……
A Phoenix brand sedan from Shanghai!
And it's a brand new car...
This car isn't something you can just get with money. The paperwork is so complicated that even simple connections can't get you through it. And the main problem is, even if you manage to get one, and you have a perfectly legitimate reason, nobody will dare to drive it.
However, this new clerk from their branch office just drove it out so openly, and even planned to park it right there in the office.
It's quite obvious that the people behind Bai Nuo have already laid out all the necessary connections and aren't afraid of the child driving the car out.
Qiu Jun realized that the reason they were able to solve this major criminal case in such a short time was entirely due to Bai Nuo's painting skills and her meticulous attention to detail.
