Chapter 120 Who Gave You the Courage?

Seeing that Chen Jianan didn't move, Song Yunzheng put down his pen and glanced at her. "If you can still make an appointment with the gastroenterology department before you get off work, you'll have to go to the emergency room any later."

"Why don't you just prescribe some medicine for me?"

"Sorry, I can't open it." He refused without even thinking.

Chen Jianan pursed his lips, nodded, then stood up hesitantly and blurted out unconsciously.

"Thank you, Dr. Song."

Song Yunzheng paused, then looked at her coldly: "You registered for Dr. Yu's appointment, how did you know I'm Dr. Song's?" He wasn't wearing his employee badge today.

From the moment she entered, her eyes darted around, revealing a complex mix of emotions—inquiry and a hint of fear—making her seem unlike someone who comes to see a doctor.

But Song Yunzheng didn't expose her; he was just waiting to see her slip up on her own.

Chen Jianan seemed to have been frozen in place, not moving an inch for a long time.

"Aren't you leaving?" Song Yunzheng urged.

"Let's go, let's leave after we finish this..." Before he finished speaking, Chen Jianan suddenly turned around, and the hand that had been in his pocket suddenly pulled out a dagger and stabbed straight at Song Yunzheng.

As Song Yunzheng dodged, he subconsciously used his hand to block the cut, which immediately stained his white coat with a red mark.

Just as Chen Jianan was about to stab a second time, Song Yunzheng kicked her wrist, and the dagger slipped from her hand.

At the same time, Fu Yang, who had heard the commotion, rushed in from outside the door, carrying a chair in his hand.

Song Yunzheng was one step ahead of him, slamming Chen Jianan's hand onto the table and coldly demanding, "Who sent you?!"

Chen Jianan struggled for a moment, then suddenly burst into giggles, "Nobody told me to come. I just can't stand you doctors. My parents died in your hospital, so you all deserve to die! You all deserve to die!"

"Dr. Song, get out of my way! I'll beat her to death! How dare she lay a hand on you?!"

With a single glance from Song Yunzheng, Fu Yang immediately understood, took out his phone, and called the police.

"If you don't want to talk, then go and stay with the police station."

"Dr. Song, are you alright?" Fu Yang noticed the bright red mark on Song Yunzheng's arm after finishing the call and hurriedly stepped forward to press the wound.

"It's nothing, just a minor cut, not deep."

This is not the first time a doctor has been attacked. As for how this minor managed to bring a knife into the hospital, the security checkpoint staff at the entrance will likely need a major overhaul this time.

The police responded quickly and took the man away. Officer Zhou noticed that Song Yunzheng was expressionless, even somewhat gloomy, and said with concern, "We will seriously investigate this matter."

Song Yunzheng didn't answer, but instead tossed him a sachet that had fallen from Chen Jianan's body. "Check the ingredients inside, give me a report, and also thoroughly investigate this girl's background and who she's been in contact with recently."

Officer Zhou hurriedly caught it and nodded.

Song Yunzheng took off his disposable gloves, threw them into the trash can, then turned around, walked to the windowsill, and made a phone call.

"Qi Nian, do me a favor..."

Sheng Qinian, the eldest son of the Sheng family, was promoted to the youngest ministerial-level position at the age of thirty. Song Yunzheng and he had been friends since childhood and had even saved each other's lives. Whenever Song Yunzheng asked for his help, he would do his best to help him.

In Courtyard No. 1, Lin Yue was struggling with the eggs in the pot in the kitchen.

As soon as Song Yunzheng opened the door, he smelled a burning odor. He frowned, realizing something was wrong, and quickly changed his shoes and walked to the kitchen door.

Lin Yue frantically waved the spatula, letting out a sigh of relief as if he hadn't blown up the kitchen.

He crossed his arms, a smile playing on his lips, and leaned against the door. "What are you doing?"

"Ah!" Lin Yue was startled and almost threw the pot away.

She turned around angrily and glared at him, "Why do you walk so quietly? You can scare people to death, you know?"

Song Yunzheng walked over slowly, hugged her from behind, and immediately noticed the two burnt eggs in the pot...

"What's in the pot..." he asked tentatively.

"Eggs," Lin Yue said smugly. "I made eggs for you because I was bored at home, so I thought I'd cook for you. The first step of this long journey is to start with fried eggs."

"Oh, it's a fried egg. I really wouldn't have recognized it if you hadn't told me..."

"What do you mean?" Lin Yue raised her small fist in front of him as a threat.

Song Yunzheng surrendered, suppressing a laugh, "I'm praising you. Not everyone can make brown sugar-colored fried eggs."

As he spoke, he took the spatula from her hand. "However, when I'm not home, you shouldn't touch the fire. Cooking is bad for your hands and your health. Don't learn it; I can do it myself."

Lin Yue was delighted to hear this and happily threw herself into his arms, but accidentally touched his injured arm.

"Hiss..." Song Yunzheng cried out in pain.

"What's wrong?" Lin Yue asked him anxiously.

Song Yunzheng tried to hide his injured arm behind his back, but Lin Yue grabbed it. She gently lifted the sleeve and saw the blood-soaked gauze, her face immediately scrunching up.

"How did this happen? Does it hurt?"

He hadn't felt it until his wife asked him, and Song Yunzheng felt the pain. It's different when someone cares; even his body becomes sensitive.

"I accidentally cut myself in the office. Ouch! It hurts, it hurts so much, it hurts so much, I can't move my hand."

"Oh? What should we do? It's bleeding again. Should we go to the hospital to get it bandaged again?" With that, Lin Yue pulled him toward the door.

Song Yunzheng stood still, then pulled her into his arms. Facing Lin Yue's doubts, he chuckled, "Silly girl, I was just kidding. It doesn't hurt anymore, just a little blood."
