As if on cue, before she could finish speaking, Song Yunzheng called. Lin Yue quickly put down her chopsticks, wiped her hands, and answered the phone.
"Hey, honey, are you off work yet?" Her voice was exceptionally sweet and clear.
"Not yet, where are you eating?" Song Yunzheng's voice was very calm.
“Ya'er Li Ji”.
"When will it be over? I'll come pick you up."
Lin Yue glanced up at Jiang Li, who was smirking, and kicked her under the table.
"I'll finish eating soon, probably before you. I'll take a taxi home myself."
There was a few seconds of silence on the other end before a voice came through, "Okay, be careful then, call me when you get home."
"Okay, that's settled then..."
Before hanging up, Song Yunzheng added, "Go home early, and don't eat anything too spicy."
Lin Yue glanced at the spicy hot pot in front of her, then stuck out her tongue guiltily, "Okay, I know."
They chatted like that for a while, one sentence after another, before the person on the other end of the phone finally let them hang up.
Jiang Li shook her head with a playful expression, "You're henpecked, Yuezai. Dr. Song has you completely under his thumb."
"Really?" Lin Yue shrugged nonchalantly. She was quite happy to be looked after, because Li Shuhua had never seriously managed her, except for arranging blind dates for her.
After paying the bill and stepping outside, a gentle breeze was blowing, the lights were dim, and the magnificent sunset on the horizon was as beautiful as a painting, easily drawing their attention.
"Beep beep..." A black Mercedes stopped in front of them. The window rolled down, and Lu Zhiheng turned to look at them with a slight smile.
