"This must be Mrs. Song. She is indeed a picture-perfect woman. No wonder Dr. Song cherishes her so much. I wouldn't be willing to bring her out."
Such flippant praise made Lin Yue frown slightly. She took a serious look at the man who spoke. He had good features and deep, cold eyes, but he was still far inferior to Song Yunzheng.
Song Yunzheng was like a demon, handsome as a fox spirit that could captivate the soul.
Song Yunzheng's large hand on Lin Yue's waist tightened even more. He glanced at the people beside him out of the corner of his eye, suppressing his displeasure.
"Young Master Shen, there is no need for such worries..."
The implication is that you, Shen Mo, can't marry a wife like that.
Shen Mo paused for a moment, then nodded with a slightly stiff smile.
Seeing this, Rong Yechen sensed something was wrong and quickly said, "Everyone, please don't stand, please sit down."
Song Yunzheng put his arm around Lin Yue and they sat down together, his large hand around her waist never letting go.
The waiters began serving the dishes, one exquisite dish after another, all of which were Huaiyang cuisine.
Lin Yue shifted her body, feeling a little uncomfortable from his large hand gripping her. She patted the back of his hand where no one could see and whispered, "Loosen your grip a bit."
Song Yunzheng acted as if he hadn't heard, stubbornly refusing to let go.
She turned to look at him, blinked, and looked puzzled.
He raised an eyebrow at her, and even tightened his grip a little more.
The meaning is obvious: he wants to be close to his wife.
These little interactions between the two were observed by others, who all smiled but said nothing.
"Look how clingy your brother is," Rong Youze said enviously, watching the little interaction between the two.
"That's right, I've never seen him like this before, not since I was a child." Yunxi said with some emotion.
"Having someone who can sway all his emotions makes some things much easier, but there are pros and cons. I'm afraid he might be taken advantage of by someone with ulterior motives..."
Yunxi paused in her chopsticks, instantly understanding the meaning behind his words.
"Young Master Shen has come to the capital for a major project, which is said to change the landscape of many industries in southern Jiangsu and the capital."
Fearing an awkward atmosphere, Rong Yechen deliberately steered the conversation towards work.
Shen Mo came to his senses and smiled, "Brother Yechen, you flatter me. I was just doing my best."
During the meal, Shen Mo kept glancing at Lin Yue, seemingly unconsciously drawn to her.
However, every glance he made was precisely captured by Song Yunzheng and remembered.
Song Yunzheng picked up his chopsticks, placed a piece of squirrel-shaped mandarin fish in Lin Yue's bowl, and said gently, "Try this and see if you like it. If you do, I'll make it for you when we get back."
Lin Yue picked up a piece of fish coated in sweet and sour broth and put it in her mouth. The next second, her eyebrows shot up and she couldn't help but nod in praise.
"It's delicious, but are you sure you can learn how to make it? This dish requires a lot of knife skills."
Knife skills?
Song Yunzheng looked at her with a serious expression, "Have you forgotten what your husband does for a living?"
After realizing what she had said, Lin Yue laughed and said, "I almost forgot, you're a professional."
While talking to Lin Yue, Song Yunzheng kept an eye on Shen Mo out of the corner of his eye.
Seeing that the other party was still stealing glances at Lin Yue from time to time, he finally couldn't bear it any longer. He suddenly raised his head, stared directly at Shen Mo, his gaze like a sword, piercing the other party, the warning meaning contained in it was self-evident.
"Young Master Shen's visit to the capital this time suggests that this project is very important. I hope everything goes smoothly..."
Shen Mo clearly sensed Song Yunzheng's hostility. He raised the corners of his mouth slightly, revealing a half-smile, and said softly, "Thank you."
Halfway through the meal, a waiter came in, walked over to Rong Yechen, and asked softly, "Mr. Rong, which kind of wine would you like?"
"Bring me that bottle of red wine I've been keeping."
"OK."
After a while, the waiter brought out the decanted red wine and poured it for each person at the table.
When she came to Lin Yue's side, she stared expectantly at the red wine in the waiter's hand. She really wanted to taste it, and the mellow aroma of the wine filled her nostrils.
"Don't pour her any, she can't drink it."
Song Yunzheng directly refused on her behalf, and Lin Yue's hopes were dashed in an instant. Even after the waiter walked away, she still stared longingly at his back.
"I want to try it!" She turned around and shifted her gaze to the wine glass in front of Song Yunzheng.
"No, children shouldn't drink alcohol. They should drink juice."
Song Yunzheng completely ignored her pleading eyes; in fact, he dared not look at them, for he knew he would soften if he did.
"Is it possible that I'm only allergic to baijiu (Chinese white liquor) and not red wine?"
"Impossible!"
"How do you know it's impossible if you don't let me try it? Why don't you give it a shot? If I'm still allergic, I promise I'll never touch alcohol again, and I'll listen to everything you say from now on!"
Lin Yue immediately launched an eye attack, her big eyes blinking, and her little hands tugging at his sleeve and shaking it.
The culprit who caused Lin Yue's allergic reaction last time is now looking at Song Yunzheng with a mocking expression, waiting to see how he will respond.
Faced with his wife's coquettish advances, Song Yunzheng only lasted for about ten seconds before saying helplessly, "Remember what you said, and give it a try."
Lin Yue immediately smiled and picked up the wine glass in front of him. She first brought it to her nose to smell it, then took a small sip. Her eyes immediately lit up as the rich fruity aroma continued to bloom in her mouth and lingered on her tongue.
Then he took another big gulp, a really big gulp, his cheeks puffed out.
Upon seeing this, Song Yunzheng immediately snatched the wine glass back, saying, "Alright, you've had enough. You'd better pray you don't have an allergic reaction later."
Lin Yue glanced longingly at the wine glass in his hand and muttered, "Stingy..."
