Song Yunzheng subconsciously checked her for injuries. "You're really great, but didn't we agree that you weren't allowed to learn to cook? Why are you being so disobedient?"
“It’s okay. You’ve always been the one cooking for me. I can’t be greedy and just enjoy your sacrifices. I want to do something for you too, even if it’s just a meal.”
She even waved her hand in front of his eyes, "Look, I'm not injured anywhere, and I've cleaned the kitchen thoroughly. Welcome to inspect, boss!"
The way she tried so hard to make him happy made Song Yunzheng feel as if something was stuck in his throat, his chest felt hot and swollen, and he couldn't say a word.
"Go wash your hands quickly, I can't wait for you to taste it."
When he finished washing his hands and came out, Lin Yue had already served the rice, which was fresh out of the pot and still steaming hot.
He tasted a bite of each dish on the table, his expression one of delight. "Not bad, they're all delicious."
Hearing his generous praise, Lin Yue was overjoyed and happily served him food.
"Right? If you think it tastes good, it means I did a great job. I'll learn to cook other dishes for you next time."
Song Yunzheng ate his meal with his head down, lost in thought. How should he bring it up with the little girl? How should he talk to her?
Before long, a bowl of rice was empty, and all four dishes on the table were gone.
Lin Yue had never seen him eat so much before, and couldn't help but worry, "Honey, I know you want to encourage me, but you can't overeat."
"No, you didn't make much, it'll be just right for us." He gave her a reassuring smile.
"Alright, go wash up, I'll clean up here." Song Yunzheng quickly cleaned the dining table and then went into the kitchen.
When Lin Yue came out after showering, Song Yunzheng was sitting lazily against the headboard, his black hair hanging down over his forehead, his eyes deep, and he exuded a fresh, sweet scent of shower gel, obviously having just finished showering in another bathroom.
Seeing her come out, he put down his book, a slight smile playing on his lips, and stretched out his arm to her, saying softly, "Come here, let me hug you."
